@aria Toronto is amazing. Even the weather isn't as horribad in the winter as uh, other places in Canada... our smog protects us, it smothers us, it sustains us.
But even with that said, the cold isn't a selling point.

@arkandel Dude, my company has a Toronto office. I check our job board every week for the sake of my own career path, but seriously. If I ever reach a level in our organization that I can justify a transfer....
There are days I read the news and seriously consider looking into a transfer to our UK office. Not that the UK is free of its own issues...

We are encouraging our trans kid to apply to Canadian colleges in the fields that will allow him to have a work permit afterwards for a few years. It makes me fucking sick to do this (not that I don't like Canada, it's actually closer to us than him going away to school out of state, if he goes anywhere in Vancouver).
It's not a safe country for him anymore. We can't really afford to take us all at this point, plus hubby and I are pushing the age cutoff. But we can at least get him out I hope. Everyone else will be okay.

I'm dealing with that at work right now myself. The guy who got it (and is now our boss

Eh, I think it's another sign from the universe that I've put a little too much in this company's basket and I should really focus on building up my education instead, so I can be where I want to be.
Luckily there's a work at home option for me possibly, so I can stop selling my organs to pay for daycare and focus more on my little buddy.

Oh right, I had a fuck-awful day. I love my job, I work with wonderful people, my team is amazing. If what had happened today happened everywhere else it would be the end of my world pretty much, but this is ultimately nbd. However, the fact is there are times where being in IT is ridiculously stressful, and this is one of those times. We've gotten hit with a virus in a really, really bad way. Oof.

I was woken up in the middle of the night(or day for the rest of you normal sleeping hours people)with a cramp in my calf so bad that it woke me up and forced me to jump out of my bed and stretch my leg out.
Nothing like waking up after being in a dead sleep with crippling pain. Because I'm limping around my apartment going 'ow ow ow ow'.

I used to get those. Calf muscle spasms are pretty common at night. Haven't had one since I started eating a banana every day years ago. Try it.

Hydrate, hydrate, hydrate, use a lacrosse ball or something similar to roll the knot out, and expect it to be sore for a few days. I hate these so much.

I have a foam roller (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00GZXYGLU/) to help with mine. A massage therapist friend suggested these as well: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00W8XH9O2/
Bananas didn't really help. I don't get them as often anymore (my calves tend to be/stay hella tight) since I began using the roller regularly to loosen the muscles. Might help, might not! But it can help when they DO happen with loosening up the cramps throughout the day (because I know when I get one, I tend to spend the whole day achy/tight).

Why waste my afternoon, and the hours of meeting before your "consultation" meeting if you already decided that you were going to move our good team over to the crap team that fails on every aspect of patient care, simply because their organisation needs to be propped up with the money and their consultants whined about not being able to control our team. You could have just emailed that to me, and I could have done... I dunno, another ten patient visits. Or studied. Or found time for lunch. Bloody wankers.
