Coming in 2016 - Bump in the Night

@mietze
I am very frightened of other players. They are scary!Well, some of them really are.
Seriously.

BITN does have a different groove, at least that I've seen. Maybe it's the elimination of supernatural splat pissing contests, or cross sphere dangerousness where you never know when people are going to like that or think it's an excuse to PK or what. I've not spent a lot of time in the OOC room so I don't know how "bad" it is, but generally when I've said somthng on pub channel (!!!!) I normally get at least 1 nibble that's not from someone who knows me! I've also seen a bigger mix of grim and humor AND grim humor than I've seen in a long time, and that makes me very very happy.
I love srs bsns stories, but my main play for the last two almost three years has been /vampire/. So--it's nice to play things that can shift over into something pretty funny (to me, I don't know if other players appreciate my version of funny) AND serious, as the situation/adrenaline merits.
-
@mietze Don't you say nice shit about BITN in this thread!
-
@tragedyjones I have been in STed scenes ran by other people since I rolled Toni (not counting personal RP) and gotten to use more skills on my +sheet since I rolled Toni at about the same level that it took about a year on other places. It's recharging my batteries quite a bit.
-
@mietze YEAH I JUST DOWNVOTED YOU!
-
You're an animal, TJ.
-
@mietze That's what she said!
(I am glad you are enjoying yourself and sorry I didn't make you roll dice for the thing with the stuff)

But yes, people totally ignoring everything to have things setting on fire or a robbery in progress disrupting everything is a peeve of mine too. I'm sorry I snapped at you, it was uncalled for. I can already tell--it's gonna be a /day/.
It's okay, I'll live. I hope the rest of your day gets better.

I seriously want to have a building on fire, and for someone to pose in without waiting for a set, or without asking, or anything. Just once. That would tickle me.

If you're in a public rp room anyone can come to, isn't it sort of on you in that case to be like "Oh hey, since you just walked in - we just set this building on fire."

A few times (maybe a dozen in the 3 years I've been MUing) I've had people enter a public room and pose in before I have time to notice that a new player has entered. Like, while I'm in the middle of typing, or looking at my fingernails. I recall a player who was notorious for typing one or two sentence poses, and typing them fast. You'd get the 'enters' message, and then 30 seconds later he poses in.
I definitely feel the people who are in a scene should offer up a set, and some information, but the person entering gives them no time to do so, and doesn't ask, what can you do?

Laugh about it and let them re-pose a more reasonable entrance? Or I mean jump straight to mocking them, I guess. Either works.
Things like that are what I mean by "necessary ooc discussion." I never said I was opposed to ooc entirely, or refused to do it. I just try to avoid it as much as possible for both my sanity, scene pacing, and immersion.
-
Not sure how that helps anyone. As ICly they might see it. When the circumstances are different than the description provided on the grid, it's not the player's responsibility. Usually somebody will OOC make an interjection and RP can then continue accordingly.
Did I just take that too seriously? Oh well. I'm going back to my cheese strudel.

Speaking of Trolling, we were just having coffee RP the other day when we were trolled by a faceless man, who came through the door but was only detectable by some of us. That caused a bit of IC freakout!
Shakes fist at @tragedyjones
(P.S. In case that wasn't clear, this refers to a a GOOD kind of trolling).
-
I'll just leave this here:
*edit: I did not notice the tag for the thread "Hot Nude Girls" and I really hope that's not because of my poster.
