Coming in 2016 - Bump in the Night
-
Bump in the Night is a Chronicle of Darkness (formerly New World of Darkness 2nd Edition) game set in Southern Maryland in the modern day.
Player Characters on BITN are humans, mere mortals (or on occasion, psychics and the minorly gifted) who are aware of, and concerned with, The Supernatural. The protagonists of BITN are those who have been exposed to the horrors that lurk in the dark. Some are victims of the horrors out there, having survived and escaped the monsters and looking for justice, or revenge. Some are civil servants who have uncovered the truth. Others still are scholars or persons of faith who stumbled on the truth, and seek to study or destroy it.
The aim for Bump in the Night is to tell exciting, pulse pounding horror stories of taking the fight to (or sometimes simply escaping from) the monsters of the world. Staff and player-STs will provide both one off Monster of the Week plots and longer term arcs. During downtime, players will be free to socialize and RP across our grid.

Currently, our team consists of two Head Staffers. Myself, @tragedyjones and @Cobaltasaurus. We are currently looking for interested parties to act as staffers and as consultants. If interested, send me a line here in the thread or directly.

Sounds delightful! Any idea on a timeline for opening?

I honestly can't say with huge certainty, but I would HOPE within 90-120 days. Since we are nly using the core Chronicles of Darkness book (at present) we have the data entry and character creation mostly handled. We need to set up an actual game on a host, and solidify game policies and setting, stuff like that.
But unless @Cobaltasaurus wants to go crazy with it, I think the code should be relatively easy.

Doublepost?
Before anyone asks, here is what I believe will make BITN different.
1 - larger geographical area. A multiple-county stretch of Maryland, not one single city.
2 - Limited PRP restrictions. Since we are not officially utilizing the other Chronicles of Darkness gamelines, we offer more freedom to our plot runners to come up with whatever is cool and creepy. Thematic to BITN is "scary unexplained shit" more so than "Nosferatu Acoltye" or "Autumn Court Ogre". So if you want, you can choose from one of our pre-generated Horror Stories, or even get assigned one at random (feature not confirmed).
3 - Attention to both Plot and Social RP. We aim to provide ample opportunity for plot-based RP, while also allowing players to create their own IC groups.
4 - We will fucking kill you. This is not our stated intent, but your character COULD die any time they confront the monsters.
-
I have nothing but for you both, but that is the flakiest headstaff combo possible.

Thanks for the confidence.

Suddenly rules to survive Horror Movies comes to mind.
Plus some additional add-ons. If it looks like this is how a Porno could start? Someones gonna die.
Never go alone expanded to 'never go alone without a meatshield.'

If your character is a bookish librarian with a theoretical knowledge of demons, maybe if you kick a were-motorcycle in the gas tank you will get mauled to death.
-
Proposed HR - if you do something that would make me slap you at my table IRL, you get a temp ban. If you do something that would make me punch you in the face, you get a permanent vacation.
I do not know if I will be able to push this one through the Galactic Senate.

Eh. Even if the game only lasts a few months before people get bored or distracted by the newest shiny, if it's a FUN few months, I'm not going to complain!

SO MUCH EXCITE

I'm in. I can be found here, on Reno as Oz, or on K.Debut as Raimond.

Somethingsomething or your money back.

Include the Delmarva peninsula. We have giant squirrels, the fountain of youth, and probably blackbeard's treasure. Probably. I know pirates were a big enough deal that there were laws requiring people have guns to fend them off.
-
I'm not sure if it was clear in the initial post:
We're unlikely to be using Hunter: the Vigil, if we do it'll be pieces of it (merits, etc). This is only partly because it's not likely that HtV 2E will be out any time soon.

I think we had Captain Kidd. I think. I always get my pirates mixed up.
Even today, though, some of the DE beach state parks have "No, srsly, you are not allowed to dig for pirate treasure here, people!" clauses. Which is kinda awesome and giggle-inspiring at once, because of that old 'by the time somebody has to make a rule, it's already too late' truism.

@Cobaltasaurus
I don't even think it's necessary. GMC Core gives you enough stuff to run an awesome "things-that-go-bump" campaign.

Color me intrigued.
