Cheap or Free Games!

GoG just started their winter sale, and you can get Neverwinter Nights Diamond for free!
Humble Store is having an Ubisoft week sale.
-
GoG Connect has just added new games to connect to.
Also Humble is doing the Yogcast Jingle Jam again this year. It's basically 30 games for $1 each. And psychonauts is there, so if you haven't played it yet it's a good time to pick it up. Any keys you have you can always gift as well.

It's that time of year again! Square Enix is selling a holiday mystery box of 7 PC games worth $80 for $9.99 US!

I don't trust Square Enix. They've put out a lot of shit recently.

Right? Fuck your mystery, I suspect this is like paying them $10 so they can essentially give you their garbage, like "Here, YOU throw this away."
-
To be honest it's $80/7's worth of games. So we're not exactly talking AAA semi-recent titles here, we're talking bargain bin.
I mean there might be some good things in there, but...

For this weekend only, Ubisoft is letting you grab all the games they were giving away over the past 7 months, in case you missed any of them.
Also, the Division is free this weekend too.
ETA: All the games are the ones listed on the advent calendar too. Worth it for Beyond Good and Evil.
-
Maaan, The Division.
I really liked many parts of it, but holy cow was the Dark Zone a terrible terrible idea.
Yes, PLEASE let me PVP my way to and from your end game content against players who got all the exploits in early, and allow them to take my XP and my loot.
SO GOOD.
Or so not playing anything designed by them again.
-
@Misadventure Apparently it's different now (but I never played on PC so PS4 didn't have it as bad), but I guess they put in new content. And the PC at least has the patch.
-
Maybe I'll look.
I just hate PVP, especially formless, griefing only face anyone at any level PVP. -
I haven't gone into the Darkzone yet, I'm not level 30. I want to try the survival patch but it's not on PS4 yet, so I might, I dunno.

I've only recently started playing The Division so I do not know whether the problems you described have been fixed or not. I will say that I have saw many people who have played or do play mention that the steps they've recently taken to balance things have been a big improvement toward improving the end-game content. Again, I've only recently started playing myself so I can not confirm myself.
They also released some expansions, one of which I want to pick up, that basically turns it into a survival mode; even against the weather and from what I was reading could last up to 4-6 hours of gameplay per "match". Which has both a PVP and PVE mode available.
More often than not I just find myself exploring. I enjoy that aspect of the game. Log on, shoot some jagoffs, explore some train tracks, log out and return to MUSHes.
Edit: And if anyone decides to give The Division a try, let me know. I could use folks to run around with.
-
I need to get back into The Division.
-
Okay, I will admit the leveling up and such was fun. I tend to play alone, so I expected end game stuff to be nearly impossible.
It has/has a lot of potential. I personally liked the expansion that allowed you to do a quick mission run with selected levels of complications and difficulties on a randomized map. Kept it fresh.
I just couldn't get that last little upgrade where I could complete missions alone anymore. And then the Dark Zone shat upon my character and my game designer tendencies.

Okay. I know I will have to turn in my geek card for this but.... I have never used Steam.
I decided that I have free time and I should do so. Also, I'm cheap. So are there any good games for free on there that you would recommend. I like all the things.
-
Most of the free games on Steam will be usually online, either an MMO or a MOBA type game, although sometimes Steam is sneaking and suddenly it'll have a game game free. And sometimes they will have a free to play weekend (although the game might have restrictions on game modes.)
Also the Steam sale starts today I think? So while games might not be free, they will still be stupid cheap.

When in doubt, play League of Legends with me. ARAM 4 Lyfe.
-
Currently leveling up my Lux-only account in non stop aram and bot games, aw yiss.
-
@Kanye-Qwest that's hilarious. I did the same thing with Fiddlesticks for those phat ARAM wins.
