Is it weird that I didn't even think about doing @actions or anything? I'm not sure I'll ever really fully adjust to Arx's staff doing things and being a part of building the story.

Running scenes for awesome players.
Players choosing on their own to do the thing that you actually planned for. It's like seeing a unicorn.

Yeah, you can't have an actual RPed-out conversation about an abstract idea. At some point, asking "what are you going to do now" requires somebody understanding what they can do now in enough detail to RP about it.
For example, take a Scotty-type character. If it's a big space battle and your part is fixing the engine before it explodes, it's fine to technobabble your way out of it with a few hand-wavey poses. But if you want to do an entire plot about some tech challenge, you're going to need to get into the gory details a bit.
Abrupt moral quandaries that come out of nowhere and leave your character going, "I think I did the right thing, but it wasn't a good thing." twirls clutching them tightly
When you are in a scene or making plans with someone and you realize that nerdy pretendy fun times really is cooperative storytelling and it's awesome and it's the most fun one can have for free as far as I'm concerned.
A game full of players who take on the challenge of an extremely buggy Alpha plot and make it interesting, complex, and kind of sad to hit the end of. And their endless patience with 'shit, I broke combat again, one minute' in the midst of an otherwise badass scene.
Bonus: Their complete willingness to dive headlong into engaging with and running plot in ways that I can't wait to play with later.
Seriously, I know there are a lot of M*ers who suck, but there are a lot who are SUPER FREAKING AWESOME, too.
When people follow along with my potentially serious, definitely life-changing (for the character) scene and let me make it hilarious and come with me on the hilarity. 
There are more decent-looking games I want to play than I have time and brain for them. It's a great 'problem' to have.

There's a lot of great collaborative roleplayers in the hobby. Probably more than anyone realizes. And every once in a while there's a scene where just everyone is on point, and it makes me remember why this format for roleplaying is my favorite.
some fucking idiot who people only like because he's good at taking credit for the work of everyone under him, just like every other fucking L&L headwiz.

...when folks are too busy having fun doing things various places (RL or IC) to have to gripe, and this board gets relatively quiet for a good reason.
