@Lisse24 'Good RP' is pretty subjective, though. How are you defining 'good RP'? Because, for example, 'bar room RP' is good RP for me. It's fun and enjoyable but for, say PlayerA 'good RP' is going on adventures or getting involved in politics but, no matter how creative a person is, they hate bar room RP ad n matter how 'good' a person might pose they don't consider it 'good RP'. Or you defining it by pose length? How often they delegate? How often they get out and RP with someone outside their circle?

I had the opposite experience, I got a bit blindsided that some new guy coming in was gonna be my character's brother, and that two characters that had been playing as my distant relatives were gonna be nieces now. It didn't actually come to anything in the end, for unrelated reasons but it is the bit I like the least about the Roster experience so far. The upmake of your close family can suddently change without anyone having spoken with you.
I feel like that happened more back in alpha, when a lot of things were fluid and still being laid down. I suspect the closer they get to being out of beta, the less likely any established family will have a significant change in the makeup of immediate family.
I mean, yeah, that'd weird me out a bit too if there'd been a lot of RP around it, but if that happened in alpha I'd probably shrug it off. Since during alpha there was a fairly clear "we're still nailing things down, and there are 'under construction' and 'wet paint' signs everywhere, please be aware and play at your own risk for now" attitude towards things in general.
I take entire blame for that incident. I should have made clear to the person requesting the family member to assure it was noted that we'd all being going the angle of cousins of some sort.

@WTFE How does deciding not to judge people by past actions? I don't judge you each time you post to being an asshole. I decide you're going to be a decent person each time you post.

I thought I saw, somewhere, that it was Thrax who did a lot of steamrolling over people? Am i remember the history stuff wrong?
@Shayd Could also look at it as for political reasons, despite massive disapproval, tyour bit does not try too. Maybe he tries to go about claiming up former Thralls for Valardins so they are 'properly' free (it has been indicated in the thrall file that they are not often summoned to Arx because of fleeing and sheltering under another fealty) or he makes discrete actions of trying to get the thralls out of debt or setting up an underground railroad.

@yourmamasayswhat My bit prefers Ferrando! She also hits on everyone, regardless of who they are and what they do so, for her, Luca is just someone to hit on and a prince, not someone she sets out to hit on. Unless he decides to actually take her up on some of her offers. Ferrando is someone she always declares her love too and makes him do pointless things. So adorable. Mind, her love for him is more platonic than her declarations of love and dlirtign seems.

I'll say it again, it's being staffed by people that staffed on Firan. Why anyone expected anything different to the mentality that prevailed there, I have no idea.
That's a red herring. Plenty of Firan's staff were fine people, who saw a game with an interesting theme and a large player base that wanted to help out. Some staff were fine people, who were in a staffing environment that was distorted and dysfunctional and ended up showing their worst self instead of their best self. Some staff were fine people, but shouldn't have been staff.
Many Firan staffers have diffused out into the MU community at large to play and even staff on other games. From what I've seen, they generally have good reputations.
This is why I try not to bring what I think of a person on one game to another, regardless if they seem repeat offenders. Obviously, good things come with me because I like being with people I enjoy the company of. In general I find each game forges a certain culture and people behave according to that culture staff breeds (and yes, I say staff in this case because, in general, it starts with what they allow and expands from there).

RE: All Original Supers Game
What @Wizz said. I'd totally toll an original super hero game.

RE: We Need a Game Set In the Roman Empire.
@Cupcake Aren't Hercules and Xena Greek? Or am I remembering wrong. Ancient Roman and Greek still are parallel in ways so I could be forgetting.
That said, I incline more towards Greek feel over Roman.

RE: Posting Ads on Games
I can see the point of no ads for other games. People go on and on about a game they dislike.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Arkandel I tried multiple times to get involved and kept getting stopped each time. It was exasperating fro the GM too because no one was actually doing anything so my attempts to call attention/get involved was appreciated but because no one was doing anything the more subtle attempts to draw people in were met with more obvious ones. Then I was /still/ told to let others handle it and then to leave.
-
RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Arkandel They tried to stop her IC, yes. Like I forget what happened exactly bu I think someone got hurt and my bit was tying to help and the person was like 'LEt the proper people handle it' and ordered her to stop (the other bit had a position of power over mine). So, I was like.. What is the point of being in a plot if you're not going to, you know, get involved in what is being laid out?
Edit: Acting was /slightly/ off my bit bu I was just explaining it away by her finding herself some how concerned for something happening right before her eyes.
-
RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Arkandel In a plot on another game I had someone /actively/ trying to stop my bit from interacting with a plot. Multiple times I was 'Look! Something weird is going on!' not in those words but purposefully trying to draw attention to it. I guess it amounts to people waiitng for things to directly happen to their bits?
-
RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
I just find it hard to be involved in plots in general, honestly. I have said before I am not aggressive about getting involved in things, mainly because I don't like to force people to RP with me. Except with friends I am all about being a jerk to friends. If you can't be a jerk to friends then who can you be a jerk too? I also don't incline towards fighter types. Most of what I've seen, thus far, involves being combat able. I play socialite types. So, I don't feel like I should be getting involved in these grand fights and what not.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Arkandel Oooh. That is cool
-
RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
@Maira Totally this! I try to be friendly OOc (on channels, in OOC talks, etc) to stave off the stand offish thing. My friends generally know how I am so when I show up at a scene where they are they yank me into it. Then I try engaging new people to the scene by waving or smiling at them so they don't feel forced to join in but to at least let them know they can.

@kitteh I've seen Mirari's background. It doesn't seem imply sex slave to me. Unless it was different than the current one? It does say she went to courtesan school and she had a contract sold to a family. I've only seen the recent Mirari stuff so I don't know anything about previous stuff.
