Alts

Alt is defined as an alternative to one's main character.

A player's main should be viewed as a feature character and will be treated as such by staff. They will represent a family household from the kingdom of Kidare directly in the courts of Ronain; they must be in a court position. This does not mean head of house, but the one most likely to have influence in the courts of Kidare. This is highly encouraged, as the court will be the focus of play from the staff perspective. If one absolutely doesn't want court play, but is still interested in a noble, their main may join a house that is already approved and has a main in play; they should contact that player.

Two alternatives are allowed, so long as a player's main character is visibly active.

One alternative may be from the City of Navan, something to give it life and less focus on the realm of knights and the court of Ronain. Understanding staff are not providing direct support our direction for commoners.

The second alt must in some way be associated with another player's main character, be it their household or simply their story-line. This could be a childhood friend, a household servant, a confidant near the courts of Kidare, a travelling acquaintance. Any supporting cast for a main character's developing story-line. The character must be worked out with the other main character's player. This does not circumvent the policy on Characters.

Staff strongly encourages alts that will be active enough to help other players. Abuse of this policy will result in reaping of alts and limitation of new applications by offending players.

So, you could be my sibling or lady's maid or lady in waiting or whatever.

PS. IF either can be talked into spouse alt for Kyla.. I'd forever. I am not into playing the marriage chasing game. Especially since I am more inclined towards political.

@kitteh Same (not counting missing poses in large scenes.). Although, if it's 'X ignores at Y.' I'm not going to approach and be all 'WTF?!' because to me just a single line f ignoring someone is not an indication to RP, at least to me. Even if someone wants to take their time joining a scene (people have and just do 'X is looking around.' I generally have my bit 'Y keeps an eye on X in case they need something.'

@Cupcake I do try to aknowledge people when they arrive in a scene in some form. Like 'X waves at Y in greeting' or 'X glances at Y to note their presence.' etc. I specifically include their name. Unless it is a LARGE scene (Since, to me, there is no way you can talk/acknowledge every single person that arrives. It doesn't make sense to notice and talk to 50 million people!). Then I only nudge at a person if they seem like they are disengaged (provided I don't miss their poses in screen spam).

@Roz I'm out and about.. well.. I keep to more quiet corners. I've expressed multiple times that what I do is little things like 'waves' or 'smiles' and not force engagement on people. Except people I spend time with regularly. I already know they don't mind my engaging them and that they like my company. If I don't know them, I stick to just trying to allow them to have an opening to join the scene.

@Kanye-Qwest You've said yourself that people need to push their way into RP. I am far too lazy to look up your posts. I merely stated /my/ difficulty is probably due to how /I/ am. I didn't say anything about it difficult for anyone else. I've expressed multiple tiems on how I am.

@Kanye-Qwest I've seen questionable things done by players and staff. Especially in the Lords and Ladies genre. Also, for me, I have epic concerns about people feeling 'obligated' to RP with someone that poses at them.

@Pandora I find Arx harder to feel part of things on Arx. Probably because I am more inclined to let people decide if they want to RP with me or not.

Okay. I prefer to play a lords and ladies style game. I have no clue where to look, anymore, to find them. I am not specific on any sort of time period. Any suggestions?

When it comes to 'set' stuff like armor.. I really just leave it up to the crafter if they give each piece a unique desc or just 'set' desc for it all.

@Bananerz Argh. The animals. The majority of them wandering about the city makes me want to have my bit run screaming through the streets about the city being attacked by wild creatures.

@saosmash Isn't that always how first impressions are, though? You see someone, make a snap judgement, and it colors how you view a person. In accurate or not.. to me.. that seems more or less exactly how it should be.

Unless I've met the bit on multiple occasions previously I do tend to play off previous encounters.

@krmbm Aww! I hope you don't but I entirely understand not wanting to being thrown in amidst a bunch of drama. I was not expecting the drama, honestly.

I actually find fewer Thrax are assholes. My bit, Abbas, Harald, Victus, and Darrow are the only 'assholes' I've come across and all of them seem pretty awesome OOC. The majority that /I/ see just want to be BFFs with the world.

@Bossi My girl does not generally drink. She's just.. basically a bitch. Her and Harald are awful to each other yet she always asks him his advice and has a crush on him.

@Bossi I heard something about that being purposeful. Harald is awesome! You can pal aorund with my bit if you want. She is a weird mix of liberal and traditional.
