To reiterate: The only way to win is not to play.

... What?
edit: More to a point, why in the world would I post an image that's an insult to me? I'm pretty good at being self-demeaning but ... what?
In 'Thenomain VS Qwest' or the game of forum trolling? @Pandora is way ahead of you in the latter and I would honestly just recommend (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ing and walking off.
(EDIT: I am totally kidding if it wasn't clear, except for the insinuation you are being trolled and probs shouldn't bother putting stuff under a microscope. Please don't murder me.)

Well, when two people act like I've been massively burned I can handle it, but that third person? Man, I'mma going to flip the fuck out. I mean, I have to entertain people and not be boring, right? The people demand non-boringness, and we must do what people demand; we have to be the monkey dancing for their pleasure.
Someone flips that water bottle and everyone goes crazy.
-
No offense to the people who like the L&L games, but this thought came to my head:
LORDS AND LADIES CHARACTER SHEET:
INSTRUCTIONS: Fill in the blanks, then you're ready to go.
My name is __________ of House ________ and I'm fucking __________, but I'm supposed to be fucking __________.
-
Apparently I do it wrong then, none of the characters I played on Arx ever ducked anyone, I figured that even if here was no social stigma to sexy times it would make any eventual political match come across as much more convincing and effective an alliance if they got the impression they were special, etc.

My name is @Packrat of House HOUSENAME and I'm fucking NO ONE, but I'm supposed to be fucking WHOEVER MY DAD TELLS ME TO.
You can update your character post-political marriage.

Don't judge my fetish.
-
I was playing a duke, so fully in the driving seat when it came to 'who to fuck', albeit with it also being Serious Business politically.
-
I'm trying out Fifth Kingdom if anyone wants to pal up for it.

Right.
-
@icanbeyourmuse I've been there since pretty close to opening, but admittedly not been super active (it was a lot of a morning/euro timezone to begin with, which didn't help me)
But uh, if anyone wants to play a dad/brother/etc, well... see prior post
-
@kitteh Heh. I'm joining Tadhg on Kyla. Going to attempt my hand at Castellan. Just in case you want to make an alt/whatever.
-
@icanbeyourmuse
I have my main/court character (though no one ranking) so if I make an alt it has to be ... I dunno, random family or whatever. I admit I'm still a little iffy on how staff is going to handle that since the last time it was discussed it wasn't clear if those people could even live in the main city where the RP happens.
-
Hit me up there. I play Daithi.
-
@kitteh From what the alt policy said you just need to be connected to a family.
Alts
Alt is defined as an alternative to one's main character.
A player's main should be viewed as a feature character and will be treated as such by staff. They will represent a family household from the kingdom of Kidare directly in the courts of Ronain; they must be in a court position. This does not mean head of house, but the one most likely to have influence in the courts of Kidare. This is highly encouraged, as the court will be the focus of play from the staff perspective. If one absolutely doesn't want court play, but is still interested in a noble, their main may join a house that is already approved and has a main in play; they should contact that player.
Two alternatives are allowed, so long as a player's main character is visibly active.
One alternative may be from the City of Navan, something to give it life and less focus on the realm of knights and the court of Ronain. Understanding staff are not providing direct support our direction for commoners.
The second alt must in some way be associated with another player's main character, be it their household or simply their story-line. This could be a childhood friend, a household servant, a confidant near the courts of Kidare, a travelling acquaintance. Any supporting cast for a main character's developing story-line. The character must be worked out with the other main character's player. This does not circumvent the policy on Characters.
Staff strongly encourages alts that will be active enough to help other players. Abuse of this policy will result in reaping of alts and limitation of new applications by offending players.
So, you could be my sibling or lady's maid or lady in waiting or whatever.
@Ganymede I totally will! Can prod me if you pop on. I'm often as observant as a rock when I look at +who or where.
PS. IF either can be talked into spouse alt for Kyla.. I'd forever. I am not into playing the marriage chasing game. Especially since I am more inclined towards political.

@Thenomain Not one person on our staff is incapable of dealing with pedantry, argument, or discussion
Not to derail the thread again but that right there shows an amusing lack of awareness

See I was totally and very admittedly in my crazy period in the only instance I know of dealing with @apos and @Kanye-Qwest. Like rock bottom in life crazy period, it's been covered on other boards. So, I get why I'm banned without invitation to return.
But is this @Thenomain and @Kanye-Qwest a long time thing or ... I'm just curious is all.

Please, people are pedantic and argumentative all the time, there's a difference in redirecting it to something more constructive, and that's why I don't tell people blunt things that aren't constructive that I don't think will help. Like my opinion of you, when it comes to an amusing lack of awareness.
-
I think everyone has moments of an amusing lack of awareness. It's human nature to not see how we are being perceived against our intention.

It's the longest foreplay in the world leading to what will undoubtedly be the best hatesex in history.
