    • Character Rosters

Okay.. I've been pondering this while I slowly work on theme for my place. Very slowly since it is just me.

Now, I want to do a roster system and not in the 'typical' way (IE like Firan's or most mu*s in general).

      My thoughts on it is:

      1. They are not characters who hold any positions or power.
      2. They are more of a gateway into seeing if the mu* is for you/understanding theme.
      3. Their purpose is also for those that do not like to CG things (You can enjoy RP but not everyone likes creating characters)
      4. The roster would give a decent amount of insight to what staff expects from a CG for those who want to

Over all the roster would be throw away characters, so to speak. Once taken it does not return. Either the player can keep it or it 'fades into the background' or used in some plot purposes. Either way it does not return to the list of rostered bits.

The bits start as fluff bits but if a player perma keeps them staff can totally help them stop being fluff bits designed to introduce to the game. A footsoldier would not suddenly become a commander or something but maybe a General decides to randomly assign this private footsoldier to lead a mission and if they succeed they get promoted.

@cirim13 I am working on the grid now for @Cobaltasaurus's place. I'll probably help her with whatever else I can.

I am working on putting the grid together. Paused briefly for RL things but I am back on track.

@ixokai Everything has a Cultural difference. You could go to Texas and Las Vegas and you would have a world of difference in cultures. Same with British Columbia and Alberta. While still having similarities.

How can you be Canadian Wrongly? I don't think my behavior is any different than an American and I have been Canadian all my life. Is there something I do differently than, say, Cobalt? (I think she is American)

I still don't know what PNW is.

PNW? What about some where in Canada? I see so few 'real world' mu*s in Canada. Or somewhere not USA or Mexico. I am still inclined to say a Fictional City over a legit one then we would have a little more freedom on how we set it up.

I'll build whatever you tell me to build. And I can do the vampire place. As long as I have indication to what I need to keep in mind for them I'll spit it out. I am inclined to say go with a small then expand if need be.

I can help with the grid and apps, though, I would be hesitant about the apps since I've never read the books nor do I know much about FAE but I can totally build a grid in a couple days. Even faster if someone follows behind to help with descing.

    • RE: GuildHunter game? (Angels, Vampires)

How are you gonna handle alts? I feel like it should be 1 'special' being (vampire, angel, magical powered peoples, hunter, etc) and then whatever of 'normal' folk so that the seeming limited stuff is not claimed by the same 5 people. Or is there less of a limit than it seems?

Neither have I but I want feathery wings.

IO will build grids to Colbat's heart's content if she has not found someone.

I don't mind building a grid. THough, I don't travel far so I don't really know what most cities look like. I vote just making a fictional city (not a small town or some thing but a city).

I want to vote for taking out the 'feature' Angels and such and go a little more custom there instead. Mostly because I always feel like 'canon characters' tend to take from original types.

    • RE: What would a superhero game need to be/do to bring in a new player base?

I would probably be more interested in a superhero mu* with a lack of the 'feature' bits. I love me some Gambit, Rogue, Superman, Batman, etc but I would much rather see origina bits.

I don't actually mind the weather in the room descs. It's the 20 million emits I dislike. Especially in large scenes.

    • RE: [Poll in OP] Population Code

@ThatOneDude I actually like that. The only issue is if people were RPing in another room as a 'bright sunny day' then they step into the room to 'a snowy evening' it's a little finicky. Although.. it might be fixable with a +weather that shows all the locations with different weathers and times.
