RL Peeve: being so drained of energy from work going into crunch time that I have nothing to MU* with. I can't even bother to play computer games ffs. I come home and listen to music and read books and then I sleep.

@TiredEwok As far as I know her dosage has been set for quite some time, but I must admit I am not privy to every subtle change they have made to her medications.

That being said if the doctors are ordering CT scans, MRIs and other tests, I think they might have exhausted the idea this is a side effect, but I am not a doctor so I don't know anything for sure.

@TiredEwok Could be medication related, but she should be over any adjustment period by now. It's been months.

This whole last 6 months can go right to hell. While there has been some good in it, mostly it has just been a pile of crap.

1. My mom passed on unexpectedly.
2. My wife gets diagnosed with clinical depression (so do I, but I seem to be able to at least function for the most part) which puts her on medical leave for a few weeks.
3. After the medical leave ends, Wife develops chronic daily migraines, possibly due to the medication for her depression.
4. Due to migraines, wife put on medical leave for (upcoming on) four months because she can't drive of function during the now daily migraines, while people try to figure out what is going on with her, with little to no effect. CT scan negative for anything, trying to get MRI has been a total mess even though it has been approved.
5. Due to medical leave, money gets tight because wife is getting no pay and we end up going deeper into debt, but that's ok because we have some meager savings put away, a expected tax refund, and supplemental insurance for her medical leave which should help ease the pain a bit.
6. 45's tax 'cuts' cost us thousands instead of the normal refund money we have gotten for years, totally wiping out what measly savings we had.
7. Supplemental medical insurance which is supposed to cover things like being out for medical leave DENIES the claim for medical leave, thus leaving us without an expected relief from financial woes...which sends my wife back into the deep end of the depression from which she was starting to emerge from.

I mean, I am thankful we both have families that will help us, so we are not as fucked as we could be, but I hate that I have to ask for help.

My place of employment has a classic arcade standup game, loaded with about 300+ classic games on it. I don't know where it came from, but it came with the power to turn a great many of the men in my office into assholes.

I was playing a bubble popper game this afternoon and one of the menfolk ambled up and started chanting, "High score, high score!" to encourage me I guess? I didn't respond to him, and before he walked away, he sneered, "You're going to have to be faster than that."

This is the second, maybe third time I've dealt with this. Just leave me the fuck alone and let me have my decompressing bubble pop game, OKAY? FFS.

Sounds like a horrible attempt at flirtation, like pulling on pigtails or some archaic thing like that.

@Auspice Tell me about it. When I was looking I would be getting offers to move across the country for 3 month contracts. Like I am going to pick up and move across the country for 3 months...

I was once in a Paranoia game where I had regeneration. The GM ruled that it even worked after death, therefore I ended up having all my clones running around the game at one time. Dead = Cloned + Regen back to life * # of clones.

It was a madhouse.

I started going to Renascence fairs, acting in Shakespearean plays, and coding on an Apple IIe and a Commodore PET when I was in the 6th grade. I started playing D&D and other RPGs about the same time. From there I ran a BBS and got into online RPG's via play by post games. When I got to college I started hard core into the MUSH world with Vampire/Were 1st edition and Super Hero MU*'s.

See, this would be me. I'd help pick up the books, but I would help pick up the books if it was a male, female, alien, Sasquatch, Yeti, Frankenstein's Monster, etc. I'm just wired to help out, and it wouldn't even dawn on me to ask if they wanted or needed help, I just would want to help.

(Yes, I am also the kind of person that opens the door for people (regardless of gender), and does all that other stuff.)

@Ghost I'll look into playing a solo game just to give it a run through. I have people I can have over to play, just haven't been able to get them together yet.

I ended up getting the sundrop all in, so I don't have to paint them. I'm looking forward to getting all the other alien stretch goals.

@Ghost I have it, but I have yet to play it. I've cracked it open to look inside, but haven't punched it or read the rules yet. No time + nobody to play with.

Well, I could log in but the code says it is invalid.

Turns out I have Morrowind on my Steam account anyway, so I guess I don't need another version.
