@testament Never regret giving @Crawfish your money for more catraits. I've purchased so many, and I still have one huge Super Sekrit one being worked on... and my most recent alt is being cattified! Best happy money I've spent in YEARS.
I have one more coming of Mia getting into a little bitch fight with her least favorite NPC and I cannot wait to see how ridiculous and funny it turns out.

Riven kitties have arrived and I am cackling madly. Time to find frames.

fuck the shit out of her
I genuinely don't know how English-speaking people have managed to avoid thinking about this image en masse enough to allow it to become a saying.
Most swear words in English are remarkably flexible and only mean their actual, literal meaning (I am totally making this up here because statistics!), like, five percent of the time?
"What the fuck are you talking about?"
"Stop dicking around."
"Piss off, jerk."
"This sucks, man."We do this a lot with English, even with non-swear words, too.
"What an awful story!"
"That's sick, dude."
"He's cool."
And pretty much any use of the word literally after about 1995.Language is weird, especially English.

@aria I now need @Crawfish to draw Mia in a Macho Man Randy Savage getup.
PAY THE WOMAN, THEN.
Note that I will be super annoyed if this getup does not include a crown. For, uhhh. For reasons.

It makes me very sad during my 1:1s to be told they are not used to receiving positive feedback. That there are adults out there in their thirties who haven't been told yet they are doing a good job - at something they spend a third of their lives doing - is unsettling.
When you do something wrong you hear about it in no uncertain terms. When you're doing well you... get paid since that's what's expected?
....Are you secretly my boss?
I spent years as an executive assistant in various industries. It is an utterly thankless job where you receive very little praise, if any, when you do an amazing job but man, do you hear it when you screw up. And also, your job is super critical to the basic functioning of the highest levels of management, but most people are going to talk to you like it's a miracle you can do more than schedule a meeting and order catering.
About two years ago I moved into a position with substantially similar responsibilities, but a totally different job title. Suddenly I was receiving high praise for doing the most basic things right.
It... it was jarring, to say the least. Very jarring.

RE: Critters!
@greenflashlight That face is the reason my goal job is "stay-at-home dog mom", which unfortunately doesn't pay very well. Or at all. We're kind of obsessed with each other.

RE: Buying Shit
@derp Look, if ET's glowing finger can fix my back like that dead plant, I'm fine with it.

RE: Critters!
@crawfish Yeah, sorry, dude. You live under that blanket now. Forever and ever.

@eye8urcake And here I was thinking my town of 140-150k is too small.
I will never forget the time we were on a very long roadtrip with my in-laws and their van broke down on the side of the highway in the middle-of-nowhere, Kentucky.
We were able to get it to the nearest mechanic, which was fortunately at the next stop on the highway. Having no idea where we were at that point aside from 'somewhere northeast of Bowling Green', we asked the mechanic, who told us that the nearest 'city' was Willisburg.
None of us had a smartphone at the time and honestly, even if we did, there probably wouldn't have been a signal. So I looked up Willisburg when we got home.
The 'city' of Willisburg has a population of 304.
I think one of us might be confused about the definition of the word 'city', sir.

RE: Good TV
I finally got around to watching season four of The Handmaid's Tale because with pandemic brain, I just absolutely could not watch something that dark for the longest time (except Criminal Minds reruns because apparently those don't count?)....
No spoilers for anyone, but JFC, was that season ending just so satisfying.

RE: Good TV
@bluebird Yes. I feel like with my general lack of applying makeup over the course of the pandemic, I am now way more familiar with the up-close appearance of Elizabeth Moss than my own face.

Probably nothing, like how Blue Lives Matter has nothing to do with actually supporting law enforcement.
Ohh, god. Blue Lives Matter is so, so weird where we live.
See, I live in a mostly black, formerly mostly Jewish neighborhood.
I also live in a neighborhood where, because of regulations requiring city employees to live within the city limits, we have a large number of emergency responders and their families living here.
Specifically because of the overlap, we have a significant number of black cops who live in my neighborhood. Like, I can think of at least four just on my block, and those are from the slim percentage of neighbors I bother talking to.
It's.... it's weird. It's weird, and complicated, and and just.... unnnnnngh.

Maybe you could set up a GoFundMe or something for donations toward something new? Even if just a temporary fix.
Please do this. I can't swing a laptop right now, but I could contribute on payday.
This. I can cheerfully toss a little bit your way.

@wizz Hope the donation helps. If you don't hit your goal, LMK and I'll kick in a little more. ^_^

RE: A New Laptop!
@wizz Huzzah! It is very shiny and new!
Good luck with the classes and like I said, LMK when you're ready to start looking. ^_^
