@ZombieGenesis Directors are probably not good people for managing projects like that. Due to their natures they tend to be micromanagers and control freaks, and even when they are not the skillset itself isn't necessarily one that lets them create meaningful arcs and create 'universes' where multiple visions can coexist.

@Sunny A couple of years ago I used to cycle over to my old job when the weather allowed. This being in the summer I was wearing shorts and a sleeveless shirt which I'd then switch over to proper work-clothes once I got there.

Yeah, one time I forgot to take my bag with me so I had to pick how much fun my coworkers would have at my expense over it. I chose to buy a pair of pants and a t-shirt. 😛

The problem was never with the actors who, for the most part, were pretty good casting choices.

The problem was with the thematic cohesion the Cinematic DCU suffered from, and I don't mean all those movies should feel the same (Marvel's definitely don't - GotG is quite different than Iron Man... hell, Thor 2 is worlds apart from Thor 3).

But there was no unified, inspired vision at all there, no overall arcs, no greater story or even release plan worth a damn. Kevin Feige is wildly underestimated for what he brought to the table.

Although some of the mainstream interest is religious I think a lot of the horror is about ancient antiquities - and important works of architecture, art, etc which just so happen to be related to Christianity because that's what people created at the time - being destroyed.

I could see the same amount of attention being given to a similar event happening in the Louvre, say. And that's what all the corporate interest is from - free publicity from all the public interest, showing they care for art, etc. IMHO, of course, this isn't (mainly) a religious thing.

      It's life-changing.

Well maybe not life-changing. But wow.

I didn't do it, it was all Gany.

@Sparks I can understand customer-facing businesses having all kinds of dress codes because it probably does impact their bottom line.

But if you are going to have a bunch of nerds locked up somewhere they only see each other (if they are socially brave to make eye contact) then what's the point? Formalize some common sense rules about hygiene and whatnot, done.

@Lotherio Sure, but - IMHO - it makes no sense to drag him out in the third movie. That should have been at least a two-movie arc for a villain of that magnitude (which the series, frankly, lacks).

But then again if every film had its own screenplay written completely independently of the rest... I could see that being plausible.

@Seamus It's likely, or a vision of some sort.

Plus, look. Palpatine would wipe the goddamn floor with anyone who still remains in the galaxy at that point. There's no Obi-Wan or Yoda hanging out in some backwater planet any more, Ren is hardly trained and even Kylo Ren barely has a functional freakin' lightsaber.

@Seamus (I'm not putting spoiler tags for a trailer) I think it's a fake lead. There's no way they can bring someone like that back in the final episode, it's too late to build him up.

@Killer-Klown I like this take because it makes us sound less like basement-dwelling antisocial nerds and more like brave pioneers who endured social ostracism for noble reasons. 🙂

We are actually allowed (as of a couple of months ago, mind you) to wear jeans.

T-shirts are what hurts me because that's been my attire of choice since forever. 🙂 Plus I love to wear nerdy stuff. Now I overcompensate with game and fantasy screensavers flashing on my laptop's screen every time I walk away since there are no rules about that.
