@Ghost This is why when I first log into a game, I name the charbit Ataru. It might get renamed after I come up with my concept, but I like to be transparent about who I am. If people know me from here and want to say hi, great. I just got into that habit.

RE: Fate's Harvest BETA Live (Full Open Soon)
@Derp @TNP Agree with Terp here ... there is a wide range of possibilities in creating pretty much whatever your imagination might want (within the restrictions of the game). The staff are very helpful about it

RE: Fate's Harvest BETA Live (Full Open Soon)
@TNP I play on Fate's Harvest and Fear & Loathing ... both are entertaining. NO big red flags so far as I can tell. If you're going for Changeling, obviously FH is focused on that. Fear & Loathing has a growing Changeling sphere and is looking for some particular roles. You can log on there to find out more.
As for FH, since its their thread, I give a thumb's up personally

RE: Fading Suns 2017
@mietze Would a Dune game bring you out of retirement?

RE: Fading Suns 2017
At the moment my wiki is f'ed up but Chime will get to updating it at some point and I can get all of that posted. Otherwise, I am working about on the Dune game. I won't really make any announcements about it though until I really know when it will open. Being out of country the last few years and working on graduate work has really stifled it. Lets hope I can get it going this summer.

RE: Good TV
@Arkandel I saw that trailer and was like ... Oooo... Galaxy Quest tv show ... then after watching the trailer, my hopes deflated a bit. I should be laughing out loud even at the trailer and I found I wasn't really.
As for the actual Star Trek show ... I have my concerns. I don't mind a reimagining .... like uniforms looking different or even Klingons ... it always seems disingenuous when I see people freak out about uniforms or how Klingons looked or anything like that when ... they change ALL THE TIME. I mean, Picard was wearing FUCKING red on the pilot of ST:TNG ... RED!! What is he, an engineer?!?!
Seriously, things change, I can deal with that if the quality is good. My main hype is actually that Jason Isaacs and Michelle Yeoh are in it. These are not small time actors and they are both VERY good. They should be able to ground the scenes and give the younger actors good workboard off which to bounce their own acting.

RE: Fading Suns 2017
Well... because it was necro'ed ....
@Faceless @BobGoblin @Songtress @Ganymede @Apollonius
There are two Atarus. The one on that SW game mentioned above in the thread is not me.
I am the one who worked on the Dune game. Which is still up and I've actually been fiddling with it over the last couple of weeks. Maybe it will get off the ground. It won't require much, though I still don't know what and if a game system will be used.
Also thank you @golgoth for the link, I think I'll pick those up as they may prove useful. Cheers!

RE: Savior of the Universe: Flash AhhhhAAA!
I'd say if you can track this down, it might help. The key I think is there is a lot of conflating of information from the books, comics, tv shows and movie and determining what is 'canon' or what you'd use for your game. Luckily, I think the Mongoverse is interesting enough that you can play around with that a lot.

RE: Android Client other than Mukluk?
I rather enjoy BlowTorch. Its pretty basic, but does what he says on the box. Never had anything buggy with it. If there is a Potato for Android, I'd probably switch to it though.

RE: Difficulty of single-player computer games
This exactly for me. I'll up the difficulty on a single-player story-driven game at first, but if I find that the experience of the story is being disrupted, I'll bring that down.
CK2 and the like ... yeah. Difficulty up. I play the shit out of those games (1922 hours on CK2 according to Steam).
@Tinuviel said in Difficulty of single-player computer games:
Depends on the game.
If it's more story-driven, I err towards the easier side of the spectrum (though normal difficulty is usually fine) as I don't want to be without story just because I can't beat the Firey Thresher Maws of Doom or whatever.
If it's a strategy game (big fan of Crusader Kings 2 and Europa Universalis IV, for instance) I turn the difficulty way, way up. Because I hate myself and want to see what happens. -
RE: Where to play?
Agree on Fear & Loathing ... also just discovered Fate's Harvest ... Changeling oriented game. Good setup. Definitely encourage.

RE: RL Anger
@kitteh Gurl, take it easy.
You're talking about staring and the like... I said that that behaviour was creepy and not appropriate. 99% of men do modulate their behaviour just fine. I was merely stating that our biology reacts to certain things and given double-takes to look, not stare, at boobs or in my case a tight ass is just a fact of life.
I didn't say anyone called me evil or that even anyone in this thread was calling men evil. I was making a general statement and observation, not a specific response to a specific thing someone said here.
Chill.

RE: Fate's Harvest BETA Live (Full Open Soon)
Hopefully this will have a proper ad soon ... but wanted to say that I went through the chargen process. It was very good and efficient. I think the game has potential, especially in exploring some of the deeper, higher Wyrd levels of what Changeling is about. Just a personal thumbs-up for the game for people to try it out.

RE: RL Anger
an obvious moment of getting sidetracked by their dick in the middle of a normal conversation. That's a instinctive (if culturally trained) reaction...
I think women often forget that men getting sidetracked by their dicks is biological and not cultural. Now there's creepy behaviour which IS cultural and can be corrected ... leering, whistling, etc ... but honestly, sometimes we just notice things about another person and THE DICK takes over briefly. Its hardwired into us.
I mean... I am a man ... who likes dick ... and I can honestly say, the super secret that everyone actually knows, men do think about sex. A. Lot. And I'm not even very sexual and been purposefully celibate for 15 years. That doesn't mean I am able to turn off that biological part of me that goes "I'd tap that."
Sorry for the mansplaining (this thread is bringing the diva out in me), but it would be nice if society would stop telling men they're evil because they're biologically wired to get a stiffy and are incapable of controlling it.

RE: RL Anger
Does that mean you're going to shut up about "microaggressions" then?
I seriously don't know what that word means anymore.
They're micro-annoying. I had some young student try to explain to me how this microaggression was so violent it made him feel ill for a week. I think someone had given him a 'look' or something because of his pink hair.
I just looked at him (I'm about twice his age) and said, "Violent is when you're being beaten in an alley by a group of people calling you 'fucking queer' ... it is not in any way a 'look'". He actually had the balls to respond, "But my violence is just as valid as yours."
I wanted to throat punch him.
It is one of the downsides of being in academia today. Dealing with all of this microaggression, hurt feelings bullshit.

RE: RL Anger
"I have never heard something stupid referred to as 'that's so hetero'."
You don't know many old queens (like myself) then. Believe me ... we have as many words and occassions to call out stupid straight behaviour as they do. If not more.
"I can use what voice I have to speak for those that cannot."
This is a good sentiment. But be sure you know what you're doing. Most gay people are quite good at speaking for themselves. One of my biggest pet peeves is straight people telling me whether I should be offended by someone else's behaviour. I once told a male, straight friend of mine who was arguing with me about gay rights and other gay social justice stuff and telling me that I ought to be offended by so and so's behaviour and I wasn't being a very good gay person because I wasn't offended. My response: "Do you take dick up your ass? No? Than fuck off and don't tell me how to be gay."
Now putting the shade aside a bit, in this particular situation there was no ability to know what this guy was thinking and the couple involved (whom you should not engage in a 'loving' manner and 'white knight' it) didn't appear offended. I'm gay and I'm offended by people being any more intimate in public than a peck on the cheek or holding hands. But then I'm a prude queen. So doing nothing is absolutely the right response. Know what fights to fight and if its not your actual fight, than be DOUBLY sure before getting involved.

RE: Fear and Loathing
Would like to echo @Brunocerous statement. I've posted before supporting Fear & Loathing, and think it has a lot of potential. Politics in the vampire sphere is definitely starting to heat up and there are some great PrPs going on. There is a lot of productive cross-sphere RP as well. As the Praxis is just ICly reforming, now is a good time to get involved.
As part of that, I am looking for someone to play my own vampire character's childe. Caius is rather old-worldy and does have a bit of a hard time fitting into the modern Las Vegas nights. When his childe was Embraced is up for discussion ... either back in his old days, in the 1920s when he was active in San Francisco (He was on Cofab and is a transfer) or even something recent to his reawakening in Las Vegas. His bloodline can be problematic for some people, so its entirely optional as to whether the person activates it.
My other character, Book, also has extensive family in Las Vegas (his descendants). The Book family can comprise of any sphere and some are active members of the police force and city government. If you're interested in that as a different route, happy to explore that too.
Anywho, just a couple of RP hooks if one is looking for a good way into the RP at Fear & Loathing. After Reach and Cofab, I left MU*ing for awhile and am glad I tapped into this place upon returning. It is a good group of RPers and the Staff are attentive (full disclosure, I came in a month ago as Encore to help out with +jobs and such). Join us!
Links to my character pages in case anyone is interesting in playing something connected:

RE: I miss WoD
Fear & Loathing: Come to us ... come to us ... come to us ....
Also the good thing is that sphere RP is rather integrated, so Mortal+ get plenty of involvement in the other sphere's RP and such. If you're interested in some Psychic RP or such, happy to help find you some character hooks with Book, one of my characters
