@auspice I don't know that I'd take up on that offer, or even that I like it, but it's fascinating.
It's not something I'd recommend for every game, but I think for an Aliens game? It'd be just about perfect. That's a universe/setting with a lot of death and you'd be removing some of the atmosphere if you didn't have it.
And we've discussed how even the best of us are bad at reacting to NPC deaths.

It sounded like maybe the new Discworld game has a strong European contingent? Including staffers.
@JinShei at least! She is EU and runs it.
(I haven't yet checked the place out due to busy, but can confirm they def. have EU folks.) -

@auspice I don't know if you have Meijer where you are, but they carry a specific Hanes sports bra that I have fallen in love with. This thing keeps up with me during 12 hour days, in a warehouse, without poking, stabbing, itching, pinching, binding, or chafing. It even stops that grungy feeling from it being too warm and getting sweaty. I'm already scouring local stores to find extras in my size.
I've yet to find a sports bra outside of Panache that can handle my 36HH self. :
(I also don't have Meijer; haven't since leaving Cincinnati region in '07.)Look at the Bravissimo shop - although they are uk, they ship worldwide, and are decently priced. I'm an addict, never shop elsewhere any more.
I usually go through Breakout Bras. Their physical storefront was close to me when I lived in SC and the girls that worked there were always awesome.

@arkandel
What do you mean by help? What are you asking for and what are your expectations? What is your deal? Like, is this a snarky response? Are you being sincere?
No, literal response. I feel that's the main thing Arkandel is asking for people to help with.
But, take it as you will.

RE: I need a god damn Expanse MU.
Eclipse Phase is not Expanse.
Expanse is not Eclipse Phase. This would be two different games!
Now.
An Altered Carbon game using Eclipse Phase would be apropos. -

Oh, I try to do that, too.
Also doesn't help that Instacart just changed their 'how to contact me' procedures without sending out emails about it or anything, so since I had CALL ME as the option, it defaulted to 'no preference'. If you turn off SMS messages it defaults to 'no preference'. I'm Gen X. I prefer my land line to texting. I should be able to receive a damn phone call, y'know?
I want texts. I don't wanna talk to no one on the phone.
But yeah, I love/hate instacart. I mean, it's been great having no car, but when I have issues... My last big order never made it to me. I dunno if the person just handed it off to the wrong person (!!!!) or absconded with it, but it really sucked to have to wait a day to get my groceries re-delivered.

I find this extra funny because that's canonically p much Inigo's plan to find him.
(Like, literally walking around Europe asking if anyone knows any six-fingered noblemen.)
at least someone appreciates my humor.

RE: Good TV
@coin I didn't even know there was a book. But the first episode of Altered Carbon kicked all kinds of ass.
Yes, yes, I've already seen it all.
I am asking to see if I can read the book without already being spoiled.
I'm hoping to watch the show in the next couple days (off work + less homework). I'll be able to let you know then.

RE: X-Men Game
I'm personally a fan of Year One games. Allow people to build the background they want for their characters; use the comics, don't, mix-match, etc.
But then, my favorite X-Men games over the years went that route, so I am def. biased.

GIF Uno (not for the GIF haters)
In this thread... post a GIF that has something to do with the GIF before it (in some way, shape, or form in your mind). That's it!
To kick us off...

RE: Potential Game / Temperature Read
I don't think Eclipse Phase fits Expanse at all, personally. The requisite level of transhumanism just isn't there.
Now, Eclipse Phase + Dark Matter? You'd have something.
I do think putting together an Expanse game would be easy on the scale of 'how hard is a game to build.' My plans there are to set it on Ceres to start. Have the option for the 'I can only login a couple days a week at best' people to play those who work on / own ships (so hey, you can only be around a couple days a week, but here's a cool way to use that in your character/story). Make a big focus on Star Helix and the 'underground' (gangs, other criminals) types.
PCs could then have the strife/interaction they want there, but it's not necessary to force interaction (SH got paid off to look the other way a lot, after all... and there's always NPC crime).
But beyond those two 'major' groups, you'd also have dock workers, store owners, families, those coming/going on ships, etc...
And I thought, down the road, once the game is healthy, I could open up, say, an ice hauler. It'd be geared for alts, specifically, and it'd return to Ceres every X months and the rest of the time... PCs run ship-based plots. It'd prob. be more appealing to the sort of people that prefer interpersonal drama, but enough of those exist that I think it could work as a secondary char option vs. primary.
Unfortunately, I'm still sort of kicking at metaplot ideas and nothing stands out. Tho one is that I could go pre-books/show and focus some of the story on the forming of the OPA.
