VASpider is playing Gisa.
Thank you for the update. The More We Know(tm).
I knew something rubbed me the wrong way about her. I sort of chalked it up to my being jaded and cranky, but there was just a bit too much of the 'this person is putting on way too much of a show of I AM EVERYONE'S BFF while also seeming ultra fake' from her.

She has a persecution complex that's easy for many gamers to initially relate to, until they realize that it is a product of her own repeated patterns of behavior.
I never knew her before Fallcoast (largely due to it being my first major nWoD game), but I've also always just sort of sat over there in my own little quiet bubble to begin with. I'll be polite, I'll chat, but the 'OMG YAY CONFETTI BFFS 5EVER' stuff just sets my teeth on edge.

Hells to the yeah, while I am certainly biased being a Vikings fan, that was the best ending to a game I have seen in years, 4 lead changes in the last 3:01, and a spectacular winning play. Games like that are why I watch football and my team winning only make it better. ... And I should admit between it happening live and all the TV replays then me watching it on you tube I have probably seen that last play a good 35 times.
We had the game on at work (I work for a streaming service). None of us were doing a damn bit of work the last five minutes of that game. It was great.

... blind guy on a MU* ...
If you pose having a service dog and then just up and let others come up and give them head pats? I will cut you. PUPPER IS A HARD-WORKING INDIVIDUAL DOING THEIR JOB.
(disclaimer: I have seen this happen else-mu. And I point this out ICly. Loudly. And am somehow the badguy.)
Just make pupper a HBC who can inform people of this on his own. In a New Yorker Accent.

RE: Recipes!
I think that's the best part of the thing for me: as a single person, I can make a lot of food in an afternoon/evening and have plenty of leftovers. With my fibro and limited free time, that's a bonus.
The best part about being a single person is making whatever fuck kind of food you want, and not have to worry about monkey-shits or a picky partner that don't understand the tender love and care necessary to make Chinese pot-stickers from scratch.
Or a char-siu-inspired roasted pork tenderloin.
Fall-off-the-bone whole roasted chickens in InstantPots.
Because I like to cook.
Not that anyone in this goddamned townhouse seems to give a fuck.
Ingrates.
I want all of those foods.
I'm not a picky eater. My stomach, however, is. We argue often.
Me: 'I wanna eat...'
Stomach: 'No. I'm angry and I will be furious with you unless all you put in me is bread, broth, or grilled chicken.'
Me: 'But... but...'
Stomach: 'MAYBE I'LL BE FURIOUS NO MATTER WHAT.'
Me:So when my stomach isn't being shitty, I like to experiment and have fun with what I cook. I've also been trying a variety of wing recipes. The ones I've tried so far:
Old Bay Chicken Wings
Maple-Chipotle Hot Wings
Honey BBQ WingsThe Maple-Chipotle are my favorite of those 3. I'm still hunting for a good garlic parm wing recipe (the ones I've tried so far have been meh). I think the wings in my freezer right now are destined for this: Lemon Pepper with Dark Soy and Honey

- Faraday has added this absolutely amazing scene code. Well, she's enhanced it. This shit generates a log that posts to the wiki for you. I tried it out for the first time today and it's just amazing. While you're in the 'scene' (http://mush.aresmush.com:8081/help/scenes/index) you just set the parameters (scene/title, /summary, /type) and once the scene is over... wiki/log scene# and boom, it posts, complete with the wiki icons and everyone already tagged. No other effort required.
That sounds frigging amazeballs. What I would have given to have that feature when I was STing scenes...
It is frigging amazeballs. I've gone from hating logging to being the first one to set it up (I think I was the first person to use it and help hammer out some of the remaining bugs, too) in a scene. It's an amazing, easy to use system. All games need it.

RE: RL things I love

@auspice I too work in an atmosphere dominated by men. It can be hard to break through that gender barrier, especially if there's any decent amount of age gap present as well. But yes, that feeling you get when greeted by name or being invited to join them in whatever is happening is pretty damn awesome. So kudos to you for stepping out of the comfort zone and getting there!
I am one of the older people where I work. There's a guy in his late 40s. Me in my early 30s. Our local manager is in his late 20s. The PM in Sacramento is about the same age I am. And then the Sacramento team (which has a handful of women) and the rest of our team locally are all in their 20s.
But being into sports, video games, and an overwhelming knowledge of internet memes won them over.
Also buying pizza on Christmas Eve. I think that helped too.
EDIT: I've carried over one of my rules from staffing into being a team lead in that I continue to just hang out and bullshit with them. I'm not full management. Yes I help with training. Yes I'm an escalation point. But I want them to be comfortable bringing things to me. And they are.

Personal attacks are not welcome outside of the Hog Pit. As you present yourself as someone with a higher degree of learning, I feel you are more than aware of this fact. Please remove the above post and refrain from behaving in this fashion moving forward.
There is absolutely no need for this juvenile behavior.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
I have to assemble a copy deck* for class. It was due by Sunday night. I can't even really begin on it until I get feedback on my 'planning' document from last week.
I haven't received this feedback yet. Our professor extended our deadline until Monday. Which is probably awesome for the people who have gotten their feedback, but sucks ass for anyone like me who hasn't.
I'm in two classes this month. One has an awesome professor. This prof is... I mean, he's not bad, but this current issue has me pretty upset. And I don't want to ask for a further deadline. I don't want to be on this big a crunch at all, because next week I have to put everything in said document to action as it were for my final project.
*A copy deck is basically the document that has everything in it needed for a copywriting project. I'm looking at about 20+ pages for mine. And... it's Friday night and I haven't started. I can't start.

I still miss it sometimes. It was my favorite of my initial trio of Pern games (Dragonsfire, Harpers Tale, and Starstones).

@shincashay No, that's the one that you have to remember to hit the button to check.
I like "on line" spellcheck
Get a Mac.
(I had to turn it off on my Mac because I fucking hate auto-spellcheck. How many things in the games we play are not 'standard' words? And then it goes and corrects it into something else. Pffff.)
