Monster Camp just came out and a friend got it for me. It's just as fun as Monster Prom and some good silliness. Much recommend.
(I am also super pleased I get to pursue Joy finally.)

Watching Lost in Space, can I just say that I fuckin' love Penny in her interactions with Vijay?
Like... best teenage girl ever. I mean I love her for other things, but her interactions with him are gold.

@Auspice YASSS. I have spent 100% of my time going after Joy. I haven't been successful yet. Monster Camp is so good though. Love Milo too.
I got her first try! I focused on creativity, smarts, and charm. I'm not sure which two did it but I pulled it off.
Failed my attempt at Damien tho. XD maybe he isn't fun/bold anymore like he was in Prom!
We're looking at a nodeBB plugin. I'd like something central rather than 'oh you have to go to this other site and create another account...' because I know that gets annoying for folks.
Out on Q7 during the 2pm one today, but.... so were 200k people.
(I'd never heard of the digastric muscle before. >.>)
So at least it wasn't a question that left me hating myself!

- Shopping: Write about your shopping wishlist and how you like to spend money.
They say money doesn't bring happiness.
It may not bring happiness wrapped in sparkling paper topped in a neat bow or a gift bag bursting with zigzag-cut pieces of confetti and a neatly penned note card from a dear friend, but money brings other things. Money brings relief. Money brings an easement to worry and concern. Money brings another month of warmth and shelter. Money brings a late night surprise of food that leads to laughter and bonding. Money is the plastic card or crumpled slip of colored paper that passes hands before two bright faces pass into a dark auditorium to see their dreams upon a two-story screen only to talk about it for hours over cups of coffee gone cold.
Money doesn't bring happiness, but she is the fuel in the vehicle. She is the guiding hand at the wheel. Money is the lubrication in the gears.
Being on the game in question has been pretty great. There are a couple people who I think may be struggling to adapt to the idea of "you gon' die" and that there isn't some easy win condition, but we are in our first story scenario.
Most of us are approaching it from the angle of: I'm going to die, it's just a matter of when....and how long can I put it off?
@Botulism puts together a really good story. I was thrilled to see the spot the Judge got put into these past few days and that even though I felt like my choices led him there.....it was all part of a greater plan.
The other great part is because it's all horror movie tropes and you sometime hit enter on that pose.....knowing that it's appropriate for your Archetype/PC, but that the plan could go incredibly wrong. It's kind of thrilling. Like: I may have just written my own (or someone else's!) death sentence down the road, I didn't make a dumb decision, but I made the one my character would make all the same.
It's freeing!
I actually have a quote collection thanks to coming across this post on keeping a commonplace book a few years ago and starting one. Some of my favorite quotes are in my current book. Most of my other quotes are in a box of index cards.
Here's a few of my favorites:
"If you do what you've always done, you'll get what you've always gotten." - Tony Robbins
"The problem with the world is that the intelligent people are full of doubts while the stupid ones are full of confidence." - Charles Bukowski
"Do what you feel in your heart to be right - for you'll be criticized anyway." - Eleanor Roosevelt
"The existence of a majority logically implies a corresponding minority." - Phillip K. Dick, "The Minority Report"

Tobias was my first fictional crush.
Didn't matter he was a hawk.
Game Dev is a bad place for this.
It should go in Mildly Constructive.
Forum is not a game.
Bad, @Arkandel.

So, I work for DCS's legal department. We have over 300 kids in our system right now, and there are two of us handling cases.
And today, I get a file. Mom and dad are in the system because... they smoke some pot on the weekends. And an anonymous tipster turns this in. And we are legally obligated to act on this information.
Fucking seriously? THIS is what you think DCS should be using its resources for? Shaming something that is quickly gaining traction on legalization?
Let me assure you, we have better things to do. Like help kids who get the crap beat out of them, or molested, or who haven't eaten this week.
Offenses to you delicate sensibilities are the next office over.
Ugh.
Yeah, that's like.... crazy low on the list.
Esp. because... how often does smoking pot on the weekends lead to child abuse?
Alcohol is legal and leads to way more child abuse instances.
Crocheting while swearing is super easy. Knitting is a bit harder.
Anyway, I know @deadculture is who he says he is but damn if I'm gonna read an article in Portuguese you bastard.

Hey, my boss left an entire week off of my check! Twinsies!
Ugh.
I'm still waiting to hear back from payroll. The person I know personally in payroll (who adores me, a, and runs payroll, b) is on vacation this week. I'm waiting until she gets back before I take further action.
If I don't hear anything after she gets back? I'm going to the Workforce Commission. $200 is not a small amount when you live paycheck to paycheck like I do.

@auspice dick is a gendered insult, but I have yet to see anyone politely ask others not to call them a dick because it's gendered and that's not cool and be laughed at. Wee little straw man, there.
I had actually been trying to use "dick" instead of any female-gendered insult because a little turnabout is fair play (even if an eye for an eye makes the world blind). I think I've come down to "asshole is better."
Nobody take that wrong, please.
I think I may have underestimated how much more my new position would get me. I'm not even fully on the new project (I still do 10 hours a week on an old one) and my paycheck is already much better.
If nothing goes awry, I think I can have a car within 4, 5 months (there's other things I need to do on the way, like oh god I need new glasses).
Additionally, as has been posted to the bboards:
You can submit a +request to give someone a Kudos for playing to their Archetype. This can be from any RP. Not just an event scene. The person you give a kudos to gets 3 GP and you get 1.
As for 'attendees' doing things... Andrew (Loner) is a rockstar who chipped in and did things. Same with Valerity (Perfectionist). They've used their SCs to do some of this. A lot of the stories are going to be 'pulling people out of their comfort zone.'
There was no combat last night (due to an attendee -- Jonas -- that got pulled into doing helpful things making a ridiculous roll), but Conrad had actually stepped out to try to take part in said combat because of how RP has gone. Much to his PC bodyguards consternation.
I mean, one of the classic horror movie tropes is the cheerleader being pushed to the point of having to take up arms and do the thing. I think Valerity is a great example of that with her shift into post-apoc gear and carrying around her table leg full of nails from diva.
You get a new role each game. So while your sort of core 'archetype' might change, your role will differ and that may even come with a change of personality to an extent. I've been given some insight (I think Director has been excited for the next :D) to a couple of the roles for one of the next stories and I know one of the Archetypes is going to have a huge change in role from this one to that one. So I think that'll come with a pretty big shift in personality, too.
So not everyone who is 'lesser' or 'greater' (or feels as much) right now is going to be the same thing next time. What few roles I know of from that story, there's already at least one huge change in type of role for the Archetype.
