Had some hard think last night.

I'm about to go into a month of intense shit at work. I have a project I need to finish by the 15th for a group IRL. I'm stretched thin.

So I'm gonna try to catch up on stuff and then scale back from games that aren't SGM until the end of November. I'm not quitting (hence just a quiet heads up over here) and I'll be around on weekends to RP with those that need it, etc.

If you do absolutely need something on one of my chars, toss me a message and we'll sort it out. I just need to get shit did without stressing out.

I feel like a lot of what makes My Immortal terriblegreat would get lost in translation.

You need to read it, typos and all, to truly appreciate it.

Yeah that's the major factor, just that it has some exclusives. I generally prefer things on Steam just for keeping my library, achievements, etc in the same place, but if I can't stand the wait I may as well also pay a lot less money.

I am 100% the same. I only grab games on Epic if they're free. Steam is my platform of choice (.....I love achievements, damnit!).

Vampyr is pretty nice, and I think it's still on sale on the PSN.

The only problem I've had with Vampyr is that the normal mode is a bit reliant on really good reflexes which is a bit hard to do with how clunky the game can feel at times with the animations. Some of them feel a bit inconsistent in timing so I get frustrated.

This seems to be a pretty common complaint, tbh. The story is great. The concept is great.
But the actual execution of controls makes even the easier modes difficult to execute.

And as someone who plays games as relaxation, it's why I had to put Vampyr down. I fucking loved it, but as I progressed further into the game and drove my own difficulty up (due to decisions made), it got more frustrating to play.

Yeah, the $1 for the first month was enough for me to go 'OK. This is a worthy price point for me to step in and give this (and maybe a couple other games!) a go.'

I will say this, re: Outer Worlds.

I did the $1-for-the-first-month X-Box Game Pass so I could try it out. Because I don't have $60 spare. But everyone talking about it made me want it and I'm so stressed out by work, I needed a single-player escape.

I got home from work on Monday, and just sank into it. Despite my ADHD flare up of late, despite all my stress (and I am someone who funnels stress into OCD into 'mustdoallthethings' into...)... I just sank into my chair and only checked in with people to make commentary on the game. I had no interest in anything else.

It sounds like maybe after that first planet it might go downhill and maybe it does, but I already consider that first $1 fucking worth it for an entire evening of getting my mind off shit.

This dude sitting in front of me at this book signing stole his seat from someone who had to step away and was kind of a douche about it.
Including dragging it forward / out of line from everyone else (he's clearly soooooooo important).

But every time I have a coughing fit (into my scarf mind you because even tho it's asthma I know how people might feel) he leans forward and hunches and looks super uncomfortable so ha ha fuck you buddy.

They were at Austin Film Festival this past weekend and had a talk.
In this talk, they basically just joked around the entire time about 'lol we had no idea what we were doing the entire time! we don't even know why they gave us a show to begin with, guys!'

Like, the whole thing was basically them laughing about the fact that they never should have been given a show in the first place, that they purposefully never had women or PoC in the writer's room because they insisted on writing everything themselves, etc.

Someone live-tweeted the whole of it.

I think uh, there might have been a lot of cutting of ties going on and they're saving face now by saying 'Uh, we're just too busy with our Netflix contract!'

But it all happened right after articles about that talk at AFF went up.

I need to try to RP more but work deadlines + an asthma attack that is broaching the 2 week mark means what RP energy I do have goes primarily to SGM.

30-35 hours of total gameplay to complete the main quest and all side quests. For a sixty dollar game in this genre that's pretty damn short.

This is why I am glad it was on Xbox game pass... No extra cost on my part to play it.

One example of someone knowing about my sex life.

Last winter, the person I slept with reached out to me to check on me and ask how I was doing because lo and behold screenshots of my conversation with surr (as in something only she or I could have handed out and I'm sorry but why would I have done so?) had gotten to him. I mean, major props to him for being more concerned about my well-being than upset about them going around, but.
I don't know who gave them to him, but it means that surreality shared them with at least one person.

So, yes, fucking yes. My personal life got shared by someone who is going around claiming she's not and the only way she's allowing me to prove it is to share my personal life?

It was rubbing salt in the wound when she PM'd me yesterday to insist that it wasn't her, that she doesn't engage in talking about peoples' personal lives and that other people knew about it at the time (which I can believe for reasons I won't go into here, but also doesn't negate the about two scenarios and also)... I didn't reply to the PM, because what was I going to do? Say 'OK' and ... absolve her? Or refute it and... well, likely end up with this very thread. So I decided to simply say nothing because I felt trapped.

I am posting this largely because I feel the initial demand, to 'disclose' if people had personal info shared with them is horrifying. Because it proposes this scenario of having to disclose other peoples' lives publicly to prove guilt. And even in my doing so here, without screenshots (aka 'the sordid details,') someone can come in and just wave it off as 'well you have no proof) and it's distressing.

this is awesome. I'm glad to hear it.

My doc is sending me to a psychiatry office that specializes in adult ADHD and takes my insurance. It's a few steps further but. It's a step.

I'm gonna be my own peeve for a moment. I was an idiot yesterday.

Texas has been hell for anyone with allergies and asthma lately. Ragweed has been insane. Temperatures have been up and down. The past few weeks I have been an allergy mess. The past week I've had an asthma attack going. Saw new doc yesterday.

He's great. Like, asks permission before touching great. Asked about weight, then apologized for asking and said 'I won't ask again, but if you ever want to discuss it I'm here' great.

When we discussed my asthma, I pulled the 'ha ha I'm probably at 75% capacity' and when he checked me out he got all worried and nope you're barely getting any air. We need to get you on a steroid run.

But my ass didn't pick it up on the way home. Instead I decided 'I'm too tired. I just wanna go home and rest. I'll do it tomorrow.' I was too stupid to realize that tired was the asthma.

So today at work has been a fight. I kept slumping over at my desk between hits on the inhaler. Dizzy spells. After finishing my presentation prep I gave in and told my boss I was heading out....and she picked up on my stress and thought it was presentation stress (ok some of it was and we did talk that out).

But really I'm my own peeve because I should be smarter than this and I'd have yelled at any one of you or an rl friend to get the damn meds immediately and not have put it off like this.
