Reports do say that you can still sync up additional joycons, so you can get the new little switch and some joycons and play with your friend that way. You'll have to gather around the handheld switch, but that isn't necessarily a problem, depending on the game. And there are a few games that use joycon features that aren't available in the mini model, so they wouldn't be a waste of money, even if you only occasionally use them for multiplayer.

So the issue there is: if this is doable, why not include a kickstand? If you wanna play multi on the Light, you’re gonna need an awkward setup (prop it up and hope it doesn’t slip!) or a third-party case.

I believe with a fully OC game though you have less issues with the 'my character should be x' perceptions based off the 'canon' bullcrap. That said, FATE would be a solid choice. There's a ton of other amazing choices out there also and I'm very curious to see how the community responds to the game.

I don't disagree, but if you have open sheets (which I do love, admittedly!), the issue can still arise.

I’m torn on this. The ‘solo play only... ONLY’ is sort of a drawback for me. Like, I get not having it able to hook up to a TV, sure, but being unable to play with a friend on the go kinda sucks.

I mean, I rarely do local play multiplayer ANYWAY, but I’d like the option.

I’m fine with either. I’ve done both, I’m cool with both. Systems have their drawbacks also (people need to learn the system, people who wanna game the system, etc...). I know @ZombieGenesis ran into a lot of issues with people who felt their char should be X (notably I recall the Wonder Woman paper who thought she should be as strong as Superman, as fast as the Flash, etc etc etc.... basically made it so ‘if I’m not the best at everything, my character is ruined!’).

So just be ready for situations like that. People are gonna look at the Big Guys and model their sheet after them because of a fear of being ‘not good enough.’

The imposter syndrome for this job is high. They have more acronyms than the military.

Upside is that it seems everyone goes through this 'Oh god I'm lost and I'm drowning and I don't know what I'm going to do' that everyone is super helpful and, knowing I'm new, will pause during meetings to explain what an acronym or company-specific term is.

...speaking of meetings I'll be averaging 4 hours worth a day at first.

Again, just my feelings. If you have a very dedicated Staff willing to say 'No' to players, it can work. But then you have a whole new set of difficulties with claims of 'a-hole Staff'.

This happens on just about every current superhero game out there, though. They use ‘traits’ systems that can be rather vague and difficult people abuse them to pull the ‘I win’ sort of behavior.

I’ve played on some that were great and where people knew how to play well with one another. I’ve played on others where people.... did not.

But it’s something most comic genre people will be familiar with at least.

Threads died off for a good while because of Staff business and a lot of players (myself included) being RL-occupied. HOWEVER, the Staff has returned and decided they want to get things up and going again.

There will be a Search cycle soon to help kick off this new activity, so it’s a good time to get in and get acclimated. I will warn that these crazy folks have asked me to step up as Senior (mostly because I’m the only gold rider still around- bonus! means there will prob be a gold egg!). I have a lot of experience as SCo (I love writing dragons, y’all), but not so much in running things and I will likely try to find a WL who can handle most of the OOC leadership (tbh I kind of dislike how Pern games traditionally make the IC leadership also the OOC).

My schedule is basically completely shot the last 2 months with work but I've been able to maintain friday Storm King's Thunder (as a player) and then Saturday Tomb of Annihilation along with a Sunday Ghost of Saltmarsh as a DM. All 5e, though I am hoping 2077 sourcebook is good because I'd like to do a cyberpunk when that comes out next year.

There's a few systems I desperately wanna play.

2077 is one. The new Aliens is another. And I'd give my left pinky toe to play Deadlands again.

I just want an OTT to play in.

First day of new job. Went from getting situated (ish... I have no desk yet) right into meetings.

Four hours of meetings.
By the last hour and a half I was really glad I keep my fidget cube in my bag because it was becoming a (panic inducing) struggle to focus.

Hopefully after lunch things will be.... Easier? Less panicky? Less imposter syndrome inducing?
