That 'being so bored it hurts' also hits home. Man, the times I've legitimately gotten angry because I can't find or settle on anything to do.

      Ditto on both counts.

Some of the ones that were entirely too spot-on for me:

Constantly late even when I have plenty of time... Oh man yes. Don't expect my +events to actually start on time. Sorry. I do my best.

Cleaning the whole house or nothing at all... I call it "cleaning frenzy".

Having a hard time switching what you're doing... I'm like a parent arguing with a young child inside my own head. "It's time to stop now." "But I just need to finish this one thing." "Does NOW mean something else in your language?" "I'm almost done!"

The last one there doesn't really apply to me. It's more the inverse: can't focus on one thing.
I get hyper-focus episodes once every few months. The rest of the time it's an utter inability to focus on anything. It's why I just can't ever get shit done.

If by 'disturbing number' you mean "almost all of them"? Totally.

'Sitting properly in a chair is torture.'

...my 33-year-old ass is sitting cross-legged in my chair right this second.
I do it at work, too, sometimes.

      HOW DOES ANYONE SIT NORMALLY

Also, re: groceries? My method that has been working thank god: keep list throughout the week (or, I guess weeks, since I grocery shop every couple weeks) of things needed.
Day or two before grocery day, sit down and write out entire list of what's needed, denoting things that are 'need' vs 'can wait'
Do all shopping via Walmart's grocery app/site, set for car pickup.

It means I don't forget anything and I don't impulse buy.

@Auspice In my defense, when your SO is tugging at you or traipsing around in some manner of "come hither" clothing saying "Come get this..."

      1. There are penalties either way, but "Sorry babe, in the middle of an IC wedding" is not a suggested thing to say in that situation.
      2. My SO is a tattooed, ghetto-raised barbarian sword-swinging tavern wench of a woman who would probably unplug the computer and be like "Nook. Now." anyway.

      Sometimes I'm surprised she does.

I mean you've thrown milk (or was it water?) jugs at that poor woman.

One of the better reasons to bail midscene imo

@surreality Thanks. It's not bad for me, thankfully, at least thus far.

@Sparks @Auspice what is bullet journaling oh god don't play with guns

The bullet in bullet journaling refers to 'bullet points'.

It's intended as a quick, easy method of planning, journaling, tracking....etc. There is an official method/way, but really it's about making it your own.

(Though I feel like this is verging on getting into "we should make a thread for bullet journaling if we don't have one already" territory.)

      Probably.

Tho I'm definitely gonna check out those stencils.

...you know, added perk of a printer when I get one: print stencils onto cardstock. Could make just about anything, then.

I have yet to find a bujo method that works consistently for me. Partly because I see these amazing, gorgeous layouts people do and the hate of my own lack of ability to make something so good creeps up...... on top of the 'I spent hours on this but it looks like hot garbage'

I love bullet journaling, but I am bad at it.

I had this problem too, honestly. I was just doing very bland and sort of messy pages, and it made me keep drifting away from my bujo. But I've finally discovered the joys of stencils, washi stickers and washi tape, and my housemate's stash of washi sticker inkjet paper with which I can make my own stickers. Also metallic markers. I cannot draw for shit, but I can sure as heck stencil.

My August theme in the bujo, for instance, will be gaming. And I've got a bunch of sort of watercolor imagery of dice, minifigs, game controllers, and so on which will be printed on washi sticker paper and placed in the bujo to accent various pages. I'm going to borrow some of my housemate's holographic d20 washi tape. I've got stencils with nicely dramatic fonts suitable for a gaming theme; where I do not do headings as washi stickers on the inkjet, I will use stencils instead.

I have found now that my bujo is pretty, I use it more consistently.

Where do you get your stencils? I've considered those.
I have tons of markers and colored pencils and pens and.... (because I do like to art journal sometimes and that's a lot less.... well I mean there's no need to be consistent!)

Do you do a full-month calendar page? That was what always took the longest for me. Sitting there with a pencil and ruler meticulously making lines, then going back over them in pen and... eesh.

Also: I did not know there was such a thing as washi tape paper. Man the things I could do with that. I might need a printer and some of this at some point!

Being ADHD, working on your bullet journal for the next month, having your morning dose of ADHD medication wear off right as you end up smearing ink everywhere in the bujo (ruining pages you'd just worked on for an hour and a half), and finding yourself on the verge of frustrated tears over something so dumb. And then having to go take another dose of the meds, sit down, and redo everything again.

Some of it may be stress over family health stuff, some of it was the ADHD medication wearing off, but it feels like creating the charts and lists for the next month in a freaking journal should never drive someone to that point, even if a mess gets made.

Some people do have real, documented issues with this, as something that really exists in the real world -- and if you're so bloody aware as you present yourselves to fucking be, you know this already -- and I'm one of them. So fuck you really hard, you sanctimonious, 'read only what you want to read into something', pre-judging shits.

Interestingly enough, there is at least some research indicating that males have long-term (i.e. not daily) hormonal cycles as well--it's simply that they don't exhibit obvious physical symptoms of such cycles.

Blame the moon! We're mostly made of water and the moon has an effect on that.

But yes. I have had male friends who are especially susceptible and I always know when it's 'their time' 😛

@Auspice My doctors want me to exercise more, but won't give me anything for the pain to help me do it (Fibro sucks!)

It's why I argue so hard for marijuana legalization.
A lot of prescription pain meds don't work on me or barely work (I always thought klonopin and tramadol were pretty much sugar pills and to this day I don't get what people see in them: I take one and it's like nothing happened) but weed can help me function (I have a really powerful cbd gel that works better than any anti inflammatory med I've ever taken).

Hold on a second. What horrible excuse for a doctor was prescribing klonopin for pain? That's a benzodiazepine. A really, really strong one. It's for seizures and crazies like me who panic at the drop of a hat--not pain.

I've known people to be put on it for pain. Not many, but some.

I am familiar with its effect (or, well, lack thereof) because years ago I'd been on Effexor and when I came off of it began suffering mild seizures. So they tried klonopin and yeah. Didn't help. Thank God that withdraw symptom wasn't permanent.

I had a pizza with fresh grilled pineapple on it that was actually pretty good, at a very frou-frou hipster wood fired pizza place. Though maybe I shouldn't call it a pizza exactly and more of a flatbread since it didn't have a sauce base (there was stuff drizzled a little on top) or cheese on it? I hate canned pineapple so ham+pineapple pizza never appealed to me, but after having that I'll admit I might try it if it was a cheeseless hipster one. I'm not sure I'd like cheese with pineapple, even the fresh and grilled kind.

There was a place called Brixx in SC that did pizzas like this.
They were also late night with great specials after 10 (usually BOGO on beer and pizza both!).

They had a lot of pretty wild flavors, too. I ended up fairly fond of one with spinach and sliced tomato.

Take off the pineapple and I'd eat it.

I have leftovers of a pizza at home that's Alfredo (instead of the usual marinara type sauce), chicken, and mushroom.

I have no idea. Guys on the shift before me ordered it for the team.

I'd wonder if it was payback for changing the office phone ring tone to a woman saying 'Are you there?' except half the pizza had been eaten so someone clearly chose it on purpose.
