My asshole ex-uncle had a creepy automatic weapon collection, but he kept them all in a safe that he had a hard time opening, at least. He had a creepy panic room, too.

I mean is there a way to have a nice, normal panic room? 🙂

      Lots of fluffy throw pillows.

My recommendation would be the Sig P365, but it's probably out of price range at $500.

Next best would be an M&P Shield, which usually runs around $400 but it's been on sale for around $250 pretty often lately.

Those are the two I've been looking at for personal protection. They're smaller, have been rated highly by women for ease-of-use, and still work well for personal defense.

I had a stroke of luck and though I got to the theater late (my dinner took longer than expected and there was an accident on the road there), I was able to get a seat in the screening still (they always 'overbook' those things). They had one seat left and I was the only person in the crowd that wasn't part of a group.

HA HA FOR ONCE BEING LONELY AF WORKED IN MY FAVOR.

      Anyway.

The movie is def. more geared towards people who are adults-that-grew-up-with-Pokemon. That's not to say it's an adult movie, but between the pacing, story style, and even jokes... the kids sitting around me seemed more latched onto just seeing the Pokemon on screen than anything else in the movie.

I enjoyed it. As someone who saw the first Pokemon movie in theaters, it was kind of like a bit of a homecoming. I'm not a HUGE POKEMON NERD, but I get the games every so often and I can probably recognize (name) about half of them.

The pacing kinda struggled at parts. I feel like Ryan Reynolds voicing Pikachu was more novelty than anything. It could've been anyone tbh.

...and lemme just say: the Mr. Mime scene from the trailer? It gets better.

okay, so when we originally set up the lease, they lumped the three of us into an account. My name is on that account. I'm looking at the renewal form, and there are two areas. Renewal, non renewal. Under renewal, my two roommates signed. I did not. But I did not sign under non-renewal either ( I never even SAW this document, I was dealing with my father's death because we got this in late Jan/Early Feb). So I don't know what, if any, options I have, other than deal with this bs, pay the 20 bucks and try to get out. (My one roommate makes more than enough on his own to qualify)

I'd call the management company and explain 'Hey, my roommates signed the renewal part of the document and I didn't get the chance to read/sign the non-renewal section. How should I proceed?'

Grr. This may work up to RL anger, but right now I'm just super annoyed. Our lease renewal showed up in March. I did not have my name listed as a lease holder, and I did not sign it, because everyone in the house knew I want to move out (with the new ouch auto immune stairs suck, and climbing two flights of stairs to pee and shower is painful). I find a new place I love, fill out all my information...and then the office manager for my current townhouse says No, you're stuck in the lease. Even though you didn't sign it, and even though your name is absent from the list of lease holders.

I am not pleased. I find this super sketchy and negligent on her part, for not noticing I DID NOT sign it.

If your name isn't anywhere on the lease.... there's nothing she can do legally, I'd assume?

So Killmonger is like an anomaly. T'Challa didn't want to kill him at the very end, they sort of had an understanding at the end too. So before Steve time travels, they talk about changing this alternative timeline past thing (like Steve living out days with Agent Carter without changing the actual past or whatever). So this Killmonger that gets to live becomes the new anomaly in the machine which leads to ... Morphius (assuming the prequel makes it to actual movie, where Michael B Jordan plays young Morphius - which crazy aside, would be a cool movie, more spy stuff like the beginning of Matrix).

Though, in honest, I wouldn't be surprsied if he returns as Killmonger, along with a few others due to time hyjinx and breaking their own code about changing the past a little.

(I'm guessing you forget Michael B Jordan was Johnny Storm?)

Hey I have an actually relatable Real World Irk today!

If, after a discussion or argument, I change my mind or concede the other person's point I am not back-peddling. I am changing my mind. The entire point of speech is to convey information to another person, and the entire point of a discussion or argument is to educate the person you're conveying information to to change their mind.

That's not me back-peddling, that is me taking in new information and changing my mind. That's how it's supposed to work.

      Nope.

@Runescryer I've said it before, I'll say it again. Its part of the whole buying Fox thing. Thanos has his human side so when MCU combines with Fox Mutant-verse, the whole why Josh played Cable and Thanos will make since. Cable is a future split timeline that is righting itself*.

The myriad explanations, and confirmed by the Ancient One in the Bruce Banner metaphysical dialogue sequence, to say all other time travel movies/tv series are wrong and one can't change the past. To help with the Thanos paradox of killing 2014 Thanos who doesn't incite all the movies that lead up to Infinity War (cause that would be Marty - Back to the Future if him dying changed the past for 2023 and that movie was total BS according to Stark I think). If 2014 Thanos death meant anything (or if he wasn't from an alternative timeline) that would prevent Infinity War which would prevent Endgame or something. Thus, Cable is Thanos, they knew it when the cast him in both movie verses.

I was explaining to someone recently that I sort of have to use my phone at night to be able to sleep. Because if I just lie there... my brain will never shut off. So I have to just queue up a bunch of mindless YouTube videos to keep my mind occupied enough that I can start falling asleep during them.

I usually read before bed on my Kindle, because the phone's back light—even with Night Light/f.lux type stuff—can make me more awake. Reading works better because it still occupies my brain enough to keep it from doing the 'race around the house like a panicked cat' thing, but doesn't have the backlight to keep me awake.

(The downside to this is that sometimes instead of slowly letting fatigue take over, I get really into the book and then it's like 4am and I'm like "well, shit".)

The downside there is exactly why I can't read before bed. I almost always end up staying up all night reading the book!

Blue Bell ice cream has a new flavor: Raspberry Brownie Fudge. The base ice cream itself is almond flavored.
I decided to pick it up to try today and it is amazing.

I kinda hope it moves out of their rotational and into the regular stuff.

Yeah ADHD people often have trouble disconnecting and going to sleep, and then we don't always get good sleep while we ARE asleep - not to mention the mental fatigue that comes from constantly trying to refocus attention and castigating yourself and being anxious about all the things you are letting slip. IDK all the science behind it, but it is definitely a symptom.

I was explaining to someone recently that I sort of have to use my phone at night to be able to sleep. Because if I just lie there... my brain will never shut off. So I have to just queue up a bunch of mindless YouTube videos to keep my mind occupied enough that I can start falling asleep during them.

Then hope that in the space between putting my phone down and settling in, my brain doesn't kick into a 'Oh hey remember that thing...'

I also wouldn't be surprised if super weird dreams are a thing with ADD/ADHD. Because mine are never mundane and I wake up sometimes just exhausted from my dreams. But I know very few people who experience a similar level of 'fucked up'ness in their dreams.

It is life changing. It hasn't really stopped me from having my executive function problems, but that has to be done with CBT, and I know this. What it DOES is give me the ability to focus, and to feel like I am awake and present in my life. You wouldn't usually think "constant sleepiness" is a symptom of ADHD, but man.

Oh my God yes this. I had no idea my chronic feeling of insufficient sleep was a symptom of ADHD until I started this Adderall trial!

So basically my doctor insisting I 'just need to sleep more' before she'll consider meds is her potentially screwing me over? 😐

I take ambien ffs just to try to sleep more. I don't take it EVERY night because I know how bad that can be, but man if I am not TRYING to sleep more.
