I seriously do not understand what it is about people who get free shit that causes them to become hella privileged and ill behaved.

The people on one of my projects (SATURDAY is my last day on it thank god) who are on the free trial are the absolute worst.

But it also strengthens my theory that people are just parking their random ass broken shit cars on my side of the complex because it has more parking (esp. since this truck is full of trash and hasn't moved in 3 days now).

Well it was due to process on Friday, so it'd only been 4 days total and just 2 business days. They prob hadn't done their auditing yet.

I don't hold it against them. This was me being antsy and saving them trouble.

I have known landlords like that! I've known people who had landlords wait two months at a time to cash stuff. I could never live that way.

So the down payment on my car hadn't gone through yet. Money's been sitting in my account. This is concerning!

I called the dealership this morning and left a message (their finance guy was busy today).

He just called back, gushing over how I made his day. Just all this: no one ever does that, how surprising it was, etc.

They'd lost the paperwork with my bank info!

So we got it sorted. Gave my card info. Squared away.

He called back a minute later and was like: you know what? Look, in 16 years, I almost never see this happen. Next time you need your car detailed? Bring it in. It's on us.

Open sheets are glorious for player STs. They allow those of us who do the opportunity to customize plot to players. To call for rolls that lend to a player's strength.

Isn't it more fun when you get plot and actions in a plot that are custom made to what fits your character rather than just cookie cutter bullshit?

Open sheets make it easier for players to run PRPs and take weight off of Staff.

And like others have said: just because sheets (raw system stuff) are open doesn't mean you can't have PC secrets kept hidden. That still lends to a lot of mystique. I also don't think open sheets takes away from potential PVP (if you want it) at all and in fact helps keep everything above board. How often have people been banned from games because in PVP they tried to lie about their sheet and multiple staffers had to get involved to deal with the fallout?

An open sheet would fix that.

I did call the leasing office first thing. They said they'll leave a warning on the vehicle that they have 24hrs to move it or be towed.

I will leave more, less polite notes within that 24hrs. Because I am exhausted. I keep dozing off at my desk.

There is a new car parked outside my apartment. A truck, really.

In the spot I usually park in. It's just outside my window, right by my door. A lovely spot.

But this old-ass (early 90s, so p. ancient for a car), beat-up, rusting Ford pickup is full of junk and has an after-market alarm.

A malfunctioning after-market alarm.

This truck has not moved for two days now.

This alarm goes off oh, every couple of hours.

All day.

5am yesterday.

Midnight.

3:30am.

10am.

Just now, 1:20pm.

Sometimes it's just a long series of beeps. Sometimes it's a full alarm going off.

Last night I reported it to the APD non-emergency, but since I can't pull up the reference number in their report database, I guess something bigger came up and they couldn't make it out (understandable). I've reported it to the front office, but they'll give this person 24 hours before they have it towed.

Why?

Oh because the kicker: this isn't a resident vehicle nor does it have a visitor tag on it.

Fuck you junk truck. I'm a barely functional human being due to your fucking junk alarm and I'm this close to taking something big and heavy to your car to tear the POS out of it.

This cat is a year and a half old.

Mine do not! I was definitely woken up at 3-4am this morning by loud purring and a fluff ball nuzzling insistently at my face. Then I half consciously petted her, fell asleep, was half woken again by more purr nuzzling, repeat until she got bored or tried to bite her sister's head or something.

Ike will sometimes wake me up. However, I also know that I get night terrors and cry in my sleep sometimes. I think when she does it, it's to sooth me. Because she'll push and nudge at my head until I wake up enough to wrap my arms around her and we snuggle in and go back to sleep with her purring and snuggling me.

I know we have a cheap/free games thread, but what if it's.... not a game?!

Anyway!
