      I'm confused.

Is this about baking baked goods or just being baked in general?

Have to admit, that was the first question that came to mind as well, haha. Anyway, as far as actual baking goes... I am going to bake some biscuits on Sunday morning to serve up with some sausage gravy.

I haven't tried biscuits again yet. My bar for myself is set really high and my last attempt came out way below said bar.

But damn if my sausage gravy isn't amazing.

      @TwoGunBob

I think after the third time I'd lost a life and still had no idea what was going on and they were still just going 'Well, just figure it out!', I refused to play anymore.

I've played the online one now a few times (via Steam) and I 'sort of' get it now. I even have a few copies I could give away to people, I think. But yeah, I'm still not really a big fan overall. I can definitely point to that game as to why I don't like playing a game without reading through the book, even if I'm with people who will explain it.

Stupid people when it comes to movies. They are out there! And they are hilarious!

Before Logan, there was a trailer for Alien: Covenant. A lady next to me in the theater turns to her friend: "Is this a Star War?"

Also, comment thread I saw on Facebook just now is relevant: dudebro trying to argue that Star Wars and the MCU "saved" Disney. Because, yaknow, Disney was totally floundering with all of its wildly successful movies, toy sales, and theme parks and Star Wars wasn't, y'know, dead in the water before they picked it up or anything.......

I've played Talisman more recently and liked it better, but I played it once as a teenager and it frustrated me so much I refused to touch it for many, many years.

But it was in that category of 'played it with people who knew it way better and they only vaguely explained it and massively abused my being new to the game.'

It's no fun losing a game badly and having people take advantage of the fact while laughing at you. I still hate Starcraft for that reason.

I've got a copy of Robo Rally that has, sadly, never been played. I love the game, but it's been difficult in recent years to find people willing to play. I actually haven't had a chance to play since I left Ohio in 2007. I bought a copy when I got to SC and... just never found anyone since to play with.

Favorite... I'll have to think about that. It can vary depending on mood. I mean, there's Betrayal at House on the Hill, but I can hit burnout on that easily.

But I also love Ticket to Ride, but you need people who understand the game and pay attention as you're playing (because someone on their phone the whole time can ruin the experience).

And though I've only gotten to play it once, I really, really loved Shadows Over Camelot and I think it could easily become a favorite, but I'd need to play it again to be sure.

Let me propose this one: favorite 6+ player game?
That'd be a toss-up between Werewolf and Resistance for me.

The biggest issue now with Avalon Hill is 'do you have the hours in the day.' So many of their games take so damn long to play. 😄

Two words for you: Twilight Imperium.

It took my gaming group I kid you not 5 hours to set up and learn how to play and get through the first turn. That is a rulebook that is desperate need of shortening and possibly a cleaner translation from whatever nerd language it was written in into English. (I honestly think it was German.)

There are Reasons I have never played it. Like I kinda want to, but I also don't have the attention span to spend 12 hours on one game (which is how long it takes, on average, even for people who already know how to play the game).

I have to eat my Pho before I can play with my laptop.

Edited to add: omg it is so tasty.

Pho is one of my favorite things now. There's a place near where I live called 'Wat Da Pho'. I go there twice a week.

Take me out for pho and drinks, Gany 😧

My summer in San Francisco in 2003 made me hate ramen so much that I didn't go near it for a long, long time. I'd touch it out of necessity only. No amount of 'doctoring' in various ways, for years, were enough to overcome that hatred.

But in the past year, I've found the method that works for me. I enjoy ramen now. I know how I, personally, like to make it at home. It's comfort food. I actually have it a couple nights a week, at least. It's cheap, it's easy, it's filling, and makes me happy.

I keep talking about doing a sourdough starter, I'm just terrified I am going to forget about my little baby and not feed it 😧

Good luck on yours! Maybe one day I'll gather up the courage to do it too!

I've got an alarm set and I still fear I'll forget about it! So we'll see! 😄

Do I have any fellow bakers around here?

Anyone else ever done a sourdough starter (sponge)? ANYONE WANT TO JOIN ME? I just started mine a few days ago.

As a warning, tho, BGG is a 'fun' place to find a festering cesspool of the sort of guys who think gaming should be for men and only for men.

So, ymmv if you delve into discussions and are a woman.

      Do not eat that honey.

      Seriously.

      Don't touch it.

You'll be spoiled for life against the bland shit from grocery stores.

I say again, do not eat!

      Send it to me instead.

I've been spoiled. For a long time. I don't touch grocery store honey at all anymore. I've been getting stuff from farmer's markets and the like for years now. One of the last things I did before I left Seattle was hit the farmer's market to buy a final big jar of my favorite blackberry honey so I'd have a holdover for a while.

Now I have this, as well.

I'm set for at least a handful of months until I find something local!

I did redditgifts for pets. My santa got me a cat tree! With how much Ike loves to perch and watch out the window, that's AWESOME. And with how rambunctious this kitten is- double awesome!

I'm about to assemble it, so I'm sure pics to come.

Additionally, a good friend of mine back in SC took up beekeeping last year. She sent me a jar from her first harvest:

First loan attempt was shot down, but only because that credit union is in another state and all.

I don't have a bank here in TX yet. I need one, but I dunno who to go with, tbh. Anyway!

I think the interview went well. #1 and #3 did for sure. Well, #3 was just benefits overview with the recruiter and I got flirty vibes off of him, so I think he just likes me. Ahem. >.> But I also doubt he has any say if I get hired or not.

But interview #1 was with the Director and one of the team managers. #2 was with one of the team managers and a senior manager. I think #1 going well of the two is the one I wanted. The only reason I think #2 didn't go as well is the senior manager really threw me for a loop with one of his questions ("What was a project without any goals or deadlines at a job and how did you approach it?").
