Abilene to Austin should be a short jaunt, at the very least.

That's why I chose Abilene. I knew if I didn't set the goal beforehand, I'd risk only driving a short ways today and leaving the long day for tomorrow and I didn't want that.

The hotel to apartment tomorrow is only 3.5 hours. Should be easy.

EDIT: Done work. Time to load up the cat and hit the road! Much thanks to @Meg for putting me up for the night, dinner, and fueling up the truck this morning.

After I wrap up work this morning, I will hit the road and head to my motel of choice tonight in Abilene. It'll be a 10 hour drive, not counting stops. The longest trek of the journey.

Driving through the eclipse was wild.

I enjoy moving. It's the loading/unloading of the truck I hate. Largely due to the fibro. I end up so insanely exhausted and hurty after.

Anyway! I am in Boise at the first stop. Cat was unhappy the whole day, but she's relaxing nicely.

More like 'Auspice has died of exhaustion.'

Today I loaded a moving truck solo.

Next time I am budgeting to hire young college students who are desperate for beer money.

That was misery.

Almost 3 weeks ago I filed a change of address form with my school. To make sure any textbooks they send (they send my textbooks; costs are folded into tuition) go to the new address. Yesterday I got a tracking number... that they were being shipped to the old one. So I contacted the department shipping them to let them know hey, you shipped them to the wrong place.

Got this back today:
'I see where you were in contact with Advising regarding your change of address form. If you completed the form, I am not sure why it was not updated on your student record. In any case I would recommend completing the form below. Please note that the form indicates a $15(added to your school balance) re-direct fee and/or GPS point reduction. In this case, it seems like you did already attempt to change your address ahead of time so I would recommend reaching out to Advising to get more details.'

GPS points tie into our GPA. It's basically 'student conduct.'

So I may be able to counteract this. But not guaranteed. So I did everything right, but my GPA might still take a hit.

Like let's hope gas prices don't suddenly spike over the weekend (and to be honest they could because of the eclipse oh god I hope they don't.).

I have everything packed that I can pack.
Everything is stacked in the living room to be shuffled out the door onto the truck tomorrow. And then I'll hafta clean the place (well, roommate will be back by at some point to help with that, but yaknow).

I'm in the omgnervousenergy stage. I'm ready to be on the road! Been applying to a lot of jobs in Austin and omg I have so many more prospects there than I have in two years here in Seattle. I'm feeling really good about this.

Meant to go out to pho with knitting group. Last time I'll see them before the move. Migraine so bad I've had visual aura, vertigo... Maxalt didn't help. The CBD cartridge for my vape pen (no THC, so no 'high') is barely helping.

...this may be a percocet kind of evening. I'd rather be pain pill high and able to see people than feel I missed out on my last chance.
