    • RE: Emotional separation from fictional content

      @Arkandel

Maybe instead of getting a list of the YES/NO lists, if there was a pre-determined list of 'themes,' the ST could log in what themes were going to be in place.
The list doesn't even have to be published.

But if it was on your 'NO' list, you could get an @mail:
'As a note, the +event you signed up for (#1929, Stuff Happening) has been flagged as potentially including the following:

      • Drug Use
      • Domestic Abuse
If you wish to step out, please retract your RSVP.'

That way people would have their own sort of personal 'out'? Without any spoilers or peoples' triggers being directly/specifically outed anywhere?

So, in answer to the 'it's on the player to quietly extract themselves' situation...

... I have seen players do this and then be attacked by the ST. In an 'oh my god I put time and effort into making a scene for you and you don't appreciate me!' sort of way.

I think people are scared of that happening, so they just sort of get to where they either want warnings up front or they try to force themselves to stomach it because they don't want to risk pissing off an ST.

It falls back to the 'failure to communicate' issue, sadly. But it's def. not a 'omg this is just shitty players refusing to politely excuse themselves.' I can promise that's not always the case (I don't doubt it sometimes is, mind you).

    • RE: The Apology Thread

      This one isn't sarcastic:

I want to apologize for the times my social anxiety has snapped before I've managed to notice. When I notice, I get up and walk away. Sometimes it occurs too quick and hard for me to realize before I've opened my (proverbial) mouth and put my foot in it.

I do try to come back and talk it out once I can breath again, but it can be difficult depending on the particular personality clash. So for those who have gotten hit by the sudden panic button, I am sorry. The meds and therapy have helped immensely and the early warning system is greatly improved nowadays. I've seen improvement and I hope you have, too, but for those blindsided in the past, I do apologize.

''this is the werewolf tea sipping society scene at the garden party center, formal attire required''

      ...I require this now.
      Immediately.
      Make it happen.
Please, for the love of god.

There will be days you are Awesome. There will be days you are Not.

Check out Charlie's sheet sometime. Charlie should, arguably, be one of the best shots on the game re: firearms. She's meant to be. She's a sniper.
And then some of you saw how my dice treated me in that shooting competition. Even spending a luck point to reroll, she came out near the bottom. If I hadn't spent that luck point? She would've been the worst. 😄

@Booriley said in The 100: The Mush:

@Auspice @Three-Eyed-Crow On Witchcraft and Wizardry, if there was /no/ last will set, people got sent to the roster, so people could hopefully be picked back up by their original players if they returned.

This doesn't really make any sense. If the intention is for the original players to reclaim them, making them NPCs that are off-screened in unobtrusive ways is simpler. Putting characters up on a roster implies they're community property for anyone to take (it will usually not be the original player). And if that's what you're doing, OK, but that was not at all clear upfront and I as a player emphatically would have wanted something different to happen. It's over and done now, and in the grand scheme of things I'm not bent about it, I just wish I'd had a clear understanding of it and hope it's VERY clear now.

I appreciate the apology, but yeah. At the time, it wasn't clear. I'd wanted her shuffled off and untouched by anyone. That was the intent of my last will. That no one else ever play her. And I was largely told 'too bad' at the time when I had stepped back in, which is why it'd been so upsetting for so long (esp. when I had friends coming to me upset about her subsequent players).

But I do thank you for the apology (though it does seem to be in the wrong thread!).

But we fight over PT so much more.

An extra-stacked specialty gives you +1 dice.

Professional Training can allow you to make a roll with an Asset Skill a Rote action by spending 1 WP. That skill remains 9-again.

One tilts a result far greater than the other.

Yeah, I was told people are stacking for up to +3.
      Not +1.

Exactly, with the RP. You can do things as you RP.
Play a MOBA and... anything else? Nope. Raid and anything else? Nope.

That's why multiplayer games that aren't like, quick matches are out for me, for the most part.

How do you guys feel when a game offers both single- and multi-player modes? Are you feeling the urge to compete in ladders?

Newp. Largely because of the time devoted. Competitive matches in League, for example, averaged 45-60 minutes whereas non-ladder (Player vs AI) generally ran me 20-40.

Doing one single thing for an hour straight is hard on me. I don't know how some of you do it.

Won't lie. I go with Easy. Sometimes Normal, but I play to relax. Like video games are where I go to kick back, shut my brain off, and just forget work/school. I don't ant no goddamn difficulty.
