New symptom: paresthesia in mah face!
Began last night (at least I got to enjoy dinner!). It's mostly tapered off, but still present. Contacted my neuro to let him know, but he / his office hasn't gotten back to me yet.

I was reminded today about daith piercings and how they sometimes help migraines (I had totally forgotten!). Sadly, my paycheck was just enough to cover rent plus some (so basically: groceries). Might get one with my mid-month check and see if it helps.

EDIT: He just got back to me. Figures. He thinks it's due to the increased dosage in the meds. Says it should clear up in the 'next 1-2 weeks' and I should keep taking the increased dosage. Whee.

I give no fucks when it's used within a pose as a contextual reference for the player.

'The shirt is gunmetal grey.' in a description. Cool, got it.

"So, I want you to make sure that my doubtlet is gunmetal grey in the painting," Lord McFarty crooned to the artist.

This was exactly it. She had a tendency to excessively use brand names in poses and we tried to explain why that didn't work in theme. Ghost even tried to craft a large list of alternative brand names for her to use. This was deemed harassment (by her). No one would care if she'd just used 'building toys,' but no, she had to have a character (a marine, on a ship, at war, mind you) obsessed with Legos and everyone had to accept this for her.

The issue wasn't the concept of Legos. It was her need to use the brand name (in IC dialogue) and have everyone else warp theme to do so as well (for them and other such items), for her.

I hate when people go 'Oh just get a...'

'I can't afford that.'
'Just set some money aside!'
'I really can't do that right now.'
'Well if you really cared about...'
'Look, I am really not in a financial place where I can do that sort of thing.'
'Oh my god how dare you imply that I don't understand what it's like to be poor...'

You're the goddamn shit who implied I'm incapable of 'just setting money aside' or that I 'don't care' so don't fucking turn this into some pity party on yourself.

My responses were to @Ghost's comments, and it appears that it was a past experience on a Battlestar Galactica game.

The person in question is a large part of why I get sort of bristly when the 'omg don't call wrongfun comes up,' because I've dealt with her on other games in which she would blatantly ignore theme to insert her own, even to the detriment of others.

5th World? Scifi, wildly advanced society? She RP'd as a medieval noblewoman who had no comprehension of technology whatsoever. Like, 'could not use a basic touchscreen device,' 'could only ride a horse' even though those things made no sense and the behavior could absolutely derail a scene.

There are times, yes, wrongfun can be called. But there are times when someone can ruin an entire scene by trying to warp everyone to what they want and I am totally allowed to put my foot down.

You really need to get to a doctor, if you haven't. Please. I don't mean to worry you, but these don't seem like common "migraines" to me.

I'm seeing a neurologist. I'm in yet another treatment attempt. I'm just not satisfied with the results at the moment. I've been told to give the new (new) meds a couple of weeks.

Each migraine I get breaks roughly that often. I get a day off for every 1-2 weeks of pain.

Update on my grade sitch:
Got my student liaison involved last week. He said he was looking into it.
Emailed him yesterday to ask for an update (next classes start next Monday, I'm still listed as 'repeating' that other one).

Today he got back to me and said he hasn't heard back from the instructor, but he got my advisor and the Academic Advisory Board involved. My advisor reached out to me and said she's pressuring the instructor as well.

So basically this woman kept telling me she'd 'submitted the updated grade' and clearly hadn't, so now the cavalry has been called in. I feel more confident about things getting resolved. I hate to have called this down on someone, but jesus fuck how long would it have taken her to just update the goddamn grade like she said she would?

So I get this, too. The 'oh god this person hates me' feeling. And then I sometimes hear that I can come across as stand-offish on games, so I try to make it super clear that I am cool with people (esp. if our chars have ICly had any conflict).

Social anxiety can be a bitch. But I will say, @Catsmeow, from my experience you are a very sweet, caring person, and I doubt anyone is sitting there wanting you to be doing a disappearing act.

So, today I was supposed to contact the doctor to let them know if I was tolerating the Trokendi (migraine med). My expectation was we'd then schedule the infusions.

I have been. The side effects are what's expected. I've even had two days over the last week and a half that were better than normal. To me, that's a pretty big improvement.

I guess the doctor expected a greater level of improvement. He wants me to spend another couple weeks on higher dosages and then the infusions.

won't lie. I cried for a bit.

I can see that. And morally I feel it's a shitty defense. I understand it legally. But at the same time, it's the way that was phrased, re: the potential jury member.

Especially compared to another statement in the article, in which another person felt that since she could be a witness, clearly she's old enough to give consent.
