@bored I don't have the creative juice anymore for that level of world-building.I just don't.

To expand: The HM stories based in IP (Alien, for example), I had WAY less questions of world mechanics, whereas all the original-theme stories I ran were CONSTANT floods of questions on the most random and tedious of things no matter how much theme I'd written and a number of players would get frustrated and freeze up because they didn't know what they could do. At least with an IP framework I can give easier, faster answers and not have to develop as much from scratch.

@Wizz That was me. It was, and likely would be again, a bit group oriented at first out of necessity. Having 6 players spread over 4 locations makes it hard to work RP.

@SquirrelTalk I can live with that. I'm going to make it a fairly open/broad time and space travel game allowing for people to play Legends-types, or Sliders-types, etc. The core metaverse will be Whovian, but as a foundation more than The One True Way.

@HelloProject Awesome! It - I hope! - will be a bit different than people expect/are used to.

I'll be putting something together soon, MU and wiki, and post in the Ads thread when it's up.

And no, I won't call it TITS. Other ideas were Tales Across Time And Space (TATAS) and Tales Involving Time Travel In Expansive Space (TITTIES).

I'm just going with Across Time And Space.

    • RE: Making an Isolated Theme Work

@faraday I ran a zombie apocalypse game (MUSH of the Dead), and it was set in a clearly defined and established community, which meant it was easier for both stragglers (new players) AND raiders or rival communities (antagonists) to find.

    • RE: Rotating Theme

It would depend on the story. A zombie apocalypse could start with a bang by having the outbreak happen on day one. Other games might start more slowly. A post-nuclear game, where it's been that way for a while, could have a month of settling in and establishing scenes.

I figure a month inbetween games for setup and making new characters. One month of establishing RP (where applicable), 3-5 months of stuff happening and shit hitting the fan. Then a month off again for the next game.

    • RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?

@Thenomain Far more people have read American Gods than MU*, though. Just saying among the MU* subset, WoD is more widely known.
