      Because of three reasons.

      a) I don't care about the intricacies of the system as as a whole. I only care about what I'll be using.

      b ) I don't memorize things I don't care about a lot. I look them up.

      c) Screw you!

But seriously, we should probably have a thread and discuss the merits of popular systems versus more niche ones before we derail this poor one even further. @EmmahSue, @Glitch, @Thenomain?

So basically because you prefer to be a pain in the ass. Okay. 😞

Hellx2, @Coin still berates me on my own lack of knowledge on the system.

I don't even know how the hell you manage to forget some of this stuff, seriously.

Anyway, I could refute your whole argument by pointing out that the repetitive overuse of the same system over and over and over and over and over again is part of the reason so many people are disenchantged with MUing, leave, quit, et cetera, which may not be a large part, but I would wager has an effect.

Honestly, the only reason I think World of Darkness still has such a strong presence 8and even it has dropped significantly--i.e. a lot) is because they continually renew their source material--new games, new editions, new things to add. oWoD gave way to nWoD, and now nWoD is giving way to GMC, etc.

This goes to a wider issue of that kind of thought making it hard to actually play games that don't use popular systems.

If I want to make a The Strange game, I'm not going to convert it to nWoD system; I'm going to want to use the system that the game actually uses. But will my game get people? Should I not do it because I may not have a huge playerbase? Etc.

@Tempest coughs You DO realize he was using D&D as the reference there, not WoD, right?

I don't think either/or really make any difference when it comes to her point, though.

    • RE: Fallout to WoD Conversion

It would be ridiculously easy to make a Merit-based Equipment System for WoD wherein different ratings on different types of Equipment thus expanding the amount of things you can spend XP on (and diversifying). It would also make having a really good weapon something you invested in.

You're a pretty indignant guy when it comes to social issues, which while to your credit at times, does make your what the fucks sound like a lot more than lolz weird.

I reserve WTF for things that I object to, and lolwut for things that are lolzwyrd.

I'm sorry, you're right, guys. From now on I'll only use accepted forms of expression and textual idoms, and run them by you guys f-aahahhahaha, no.

It's actually a mix of a lot of those things, but more than anything just that it comes off as ridiculous on a basic, superficial level. My 'no comment or opinion' wasn't really 'standing back' so much as I didn't really have a comment or opinion beyond "this is quirky as hell".

My "what the fuck" is less indignant and more just "lolz, weird". Even if further thought makes it less weird from a logical standpoint, as its just an evolution of an already extensively present societal role (i.e. cheerleading), I can still find it weird within my context and share it.

But you always come out swinging, which is kind of half the fun. 😛

Every word Brian Ashcroft types makes me want to throw a phonebook right at his face.

I didn't even know who that was, so i checked. You got his surname wrong. Ashcraft. Shame on you. How dare you.

Also, I could give three shits because what the fuck is up with the actual content of the article? ROFL.

What's next? Friday Night Lights: The I.T. Years?

In the header, when you're in a topic, there's the list of posts, like 1 out of 149. Next to those are nearly invisible links in your flatly skin, but the double chevron pointing down is what you'd use to go to the last post in a topic. I'll change the color of it so it's visible in the skin you use.

      That, too. >.>

There used to be a way to navigate to the end of a topic when the "click here to get to the last thing you saw" button failed. What's the current trick? I'm not seeing a three-dot menu for that kind of stuff…

At the bottom it tells you what page you're on and then gives you a link to the first few, last few, and a ... in the middle (which if you click it, allows you to input whichever page you want).

Well, yeah. But it takes finangling to make it only for a particular website, and I am not asking for myself, I'm asking for @TNP.

I actually like the smaller font size better, because I tend to like smaller font sizes. I had to get used to the old version because the font sizes were huge there, to my preferrence.

I think I'm using the Spacelab Skin at the moment, and it works pretty well. I like it. Some functional changes are dumb (like the edit and quote buttons being up at the top, for instance, instead of at the bottom where they used to be). But otherwise, I like it just fine. I hope we can get the plug-ins we used to have.
