    • RE: What do you WANT to play most?

I love historical games, but they never seem to maintain themselves. There are also a couple of specific canons I would love to play in, notably something along the lines of Avatar:The Last Airbender/Legend of Korra, or Into the Badlands. Very cinematic oriented combat with an alternative world setting.

I also dig post-apocalyptic games, but a lot of them focus on the misery as opposed to the idea of rebuilding, and I'm more inclined toward the latter.

      Re Lucifer

Can I just say that the introduction of

      ***=Season 3 Stuff***

      click to show

Eve was surprisingly well done? I thought she was going to be a full on eye roll worth of character but she was actually really well written into the script and the fact that in her own way she knew she was "supposed to be" an eye roll and didn't want to be, was pretty brilliant. Not to mention the actress was just incredibly charming. I constantly wanted to hug her.

@Goyim said in What do you WANT to play most?:

Anything that isn't an original theme is counter-productive for a MU. You can't alter the world too much otherwise it stops being whatever setting it's based upon. Like if someone made a game of thrones mud, it's pretty safe to say that no amount of IC stuff is going to let your family take over the world and turn it into a orwellian dystopia. Nor is a game based on 1984 going to let you overthrow big brother and usher in a new age of democracy.

      Glass ceilings and railroading, ho.

I think that problem mainly rests on the shoulders of those who participate. For the people who want to immerse themselves into the canon setting, as players they are not going to WANT to drive the story in an unthematic way. If you're just logging in to be an asshole, yeah, that will result in shit going off the rails.

Somebody brought up Legend of the Five Rings on another thread. Yes, please.

Also, does anyone remember the old Marvel RPG where your stats had awesome names like AMAZING! and INCREDIBLE! and (deep voice) SHIFT-X. That would be pretty fun.

@Ghost I fell in love with Viktor and Petra initially because of an interview with Viktor's actor, who talked about how he played Viktor actually falling for Petra but then succumbing to peer pressure re: the rats. And then later Petra's actress talking about some of their moments.

      That needs to go somewhere!

    • RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning

I've just created a new House as a County in vassalage to my PC, with four characters added to the roster. Influenced by Polynesian and Japanese shore culture, House Seliki is now available for your consideration.

As a side note, previous gender-based concepts regarding the House's culture have been removed in accordance to theme. Cheers!

    • RE: Which canon property/setting would be good for a MU* ?

One of the reasons I think Into the Badlands would work is because in its way, it's a very structured universe.

Assuming the game only takes place within the Badlands and outside influences are NPC only, there are lots of options to play:

Clippers - soldier/assassins/enforcers. Probably a lot people will go for this. Each individual Barony has its particular look and theme. Each Baron also has a Regent, their head clipper. Some Barons have all-male clipper forces, some all-female, some mixed.

Barons - and their families, assuming Barons are not NPC only. Basically the heads of household. FYI, Barons can be female.

Craftsmen - Leatherworkers, blacksmiths, tattooists, even doctors and healers. Technically most of these are cogs, or retired clippers, but they have somewhat more status than cogs who work the fields and industries and households.

Cogs - the regular joes. Often fieldhands, house servants, etc. In some baronies, cogs can actually work their way into the upper "classes" - prove themselves worthy of becoming clippers, draw the eye of a baron or a member of a baron's family, prove they are worthy of learning a more advanced skill.

Edited to add: I suppose I should add Dolls to the mix, but that would depend entirely on how staff would field about prostitute characters.

And that's just within the Badlands. It opens up even further once you're past the walls.

Expanse is good as it normally is. So good. Watchmen was amazing. I'm enjoying V-Wars on Netflix.

Yeah, the Vampire Diaries/The Strain crossover is pretty fun.

Ugh, the more I watch Motherland: Fort Salem the more I wish it was a viable universe to rp in, but I don't see how it would work. I'm sure system mechanics could be found, but I don't think there would be so many people interested in the theme.

@Coin: I was okay for most of the Zoe finale except for the Billy Joel song and then it was onions, onions everywhere.

@surreality Having finished it recently, I was absurdly proud of Daniel Sharman, regarding his transition from teen heartthrob type to SRS BRTSH ACT-OR. I mean, I'm not his family or anything, but as someone who appreciates the craft of acting, I was so happy to see him graduate into such a meaty role.

I am massively tired of having to explain to people what Zionism actually is as opposed to what people think it is, and I'm tired of having to defend it, especially when there are a lot of points where I personally agree with what some opponents are proposing.

I'm also tired of having to struggle with supporting Congressional leadership that I believe is doing great things for this country but shitting ignorance all over the other country near and dear to my heart...and then being called a kapo and a traitor for deciding that their domestic efforts weigh more importantly for me.

      Basically, I'm a Tired Jew.
