RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Cupcake is joking.
Although if there was an Amazon faction similar to the one on the show I'm referring, I would build a character for that in a hot minute. Although, they're more a fantasy Grecian motif and aren't really suited to Rome as opposed to Age of Myth and Legend slash Antiquity.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
I have come into finally realizing that trauma can actually have an effect on your memory. Like not just the memory of the traumatic event, but your overall memory. Which explains why I can't remember a lot of my high school experience, mainly the names of people except maybe 2-3 folks. Why I know I had a detailed conversation less than a year ago, but might not remember who it was with or the particulars of it.
It's relieving to know there's an actual cause, and I'm not just a careless person.

RE: Resume Help
@Wretched I've done resume review and edit for a handful of folks in the MSB community over the years. PM me if you'd like an assist.

RE: CoD Ancient Rome game...
Look, obviously I'm going to be a Xena clone with a badass chakram and an awesome singing voice and a metal bustier over my little leather mini romper skirt dress. I'll know all the cool people like Caesar and Cleopatra and Abraham and Ulysses, and will bang both the God of War and my adorable blonde sidekick.
I can do that, right?

RE: The ethics of IC romance, TS, etc
I've come to the conclusion that anybody who seeks out one of my PCs for romance is probably ass crazy.
Anyone I might have my PC seek out for romance assumes I am ass crazy.
It makes life so much easier.

RE: Derbyshire Estate
@Cupcake said in Derbyshire Estate:
I just really wanted this to be a an Edwardian or Georgian era monster hunting society/school for weirdos set in misty England and am sad that it isn't.
Just want to say if someone DOES do this, please give me a shout...

RE: The Work Thread
Dear Supervisor - if you know full well I have available time on my hands for other projects and actively pursue developing those projects for me to assist on, maybe you could not take forever on sending me the files I need to do the job? Otherwise, I'm happy to twiddle my thumbs and read MSB while waiting for work to come my way.

RE: Derbyshire Estate
@Lotherio What time period is this set in? It looks like it might be a historical game, but doesn't overtly say so.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Macha I completely empathize. I had a really intense session with my therapist last week and it basically tore me up, but the end result has been an ease of pressure I didn't know was there until it was gone. And it's not "fixed" or anything, it's just...a little easier. Lightness is great, isn't it?

RE: The Dog Thread
I volunteered with Rock at a local festival for the greyhound adoption group's booth. He wore a donation dog vest with little pockets on each side for people to put cash in. Apparently he was very popular because...
Someone put a $100 bill in one of the pockets.
My boy knows how to shake his money maker!

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Back in therapy. There's been an increase in dosage of one medication, but no new ones introduced at this point.
The new therapist is very target oriented; she seems pretty confident that I have a handle on my depression and generalized anxiety, so we're focusing on trauma processing and techniques for dealing with anger and frustration in a productive way. I'm feeling quietly encouraged.
