@mietze You can be sad about whatever the fuck you want, and no one has the right to judge you for it.

@Silverfox I have to admit that Spin felt very much like a character I'd play, and it made me love her very much.
@Quinn During an early years Dragon*Con panel, the collective of fandom there dubbed it the "Racist Monster Truck Episode".
I was today years old when I found out that Batman is Jewish and it's canon.
@Tributary I think the thing that stops a lot of people is hearing about experiences others have had that were bad with various forms of medication.
I watched someone go almost completely unhinged, and to make things worse, it was a cop. It put me off of medication for years. I still have friends who refuse to medicate because of the stigma around it. But people fail to understand that medication evolves just like tech does, and the Bupropion of 10+ years ago is not the Bupropion of today, not to mention metabolism changes in people as they age.
I recently finished Starsight, and am very much looking forward to the next work of his that finds itself in my way.
@mietze I am personally a big fan of Bupropion. And Sertraline.
But really, y'all
@Arkandel I have purchased a little 3D frame thing that you can wear under your mask to insure non-fogginess as well as making sure you feel like you can breathe freely. Once it comes in the mail, will report.
@Ghost It's an app on my tv, and because I already pay for HBO on my regular cable, I didn't have to pay an additional fees. I use the app on my phone as well.
Now that Titans is on HBO Max (along with other DC Online shows) I can finally watch it and I'm surprised by how much I'm enjoying it. I really like this interpretation of these characters. Even Raven, who is my least favorite, appeals to me. Dick and his life experience is dealt with in a very real way, and don't get me started on the awesomeness that is Donna Troy.
I confess; I enjoy The Outpost and Pandora. They're utter shit, but at least they're original, and I'm surprisingly invested in the characters. The Outpost is the superior of the two, but the bar is low. But goddamn do I heart this trash.
@Sunny I completely understand where you are right now. I've been taking Rock to the vet so often lately and for the most part his exams get conducted while I wait in my car outside, and most of the time he absolutely will not get out of the car unless I'm the person holding his leash. Everytime he's led away my heart cracks.
For weeks months, Rock has been exhibiting symptoms of being unwell. Increased thirst, increased urination (which then led to incontinence), weakness in his hindquarters, weight gain, and a droop to his lips on one side of his face. Initially I had to be particular about taking him to the vet because money, and was initially told that the best way to figure out what was wrong with him would be to pay $500 for an ultrasound. Insurance would recoup most of the cost, but my vet, who is actually specialized in the specifics od dealing with Rock's breed, expects payment at time of service. And of course, there's all of the other regular things he needs, like his shots and his annual dental under anesthetic, which will likely at cheapest cost around $700 and is not covered by my pet insurance.
I love my dog, and having recently spent the last couple of years rebuilding my credit, I decided to take out a personal loan. It's allowed me to restructure my finances, pay all of Rock's vet bills, and gives me a cushion for any emergencies that may occur over the next few months. I'm so glad I did it.
We were able to get the ultrasound. Rock has Cushing's Disease. His body actually produces too much testosterone, and now he's on the meds he needs to live an otherwise full life. It's been hard not to cry from sheer relief.
@GreenFlashlight How dare you sir; this show is 100% Gen X pandering.
I am going to go off on the next non-resident of the greater Seattle area who tries to tell me that the city is a war zone/third world country.
While it lasted, the CHOP/CHAZ was a 6 block occupied zone in an 80 square mile urban sprawl.
I could drive into downtown Seattle this minute, take photos standing in various places, and show evidence that it's just fine.
Y'all remember from a few weeks ago, I planned to send away for the materiaI from my mother's trial? I've received the envelope of paperwork back, and gone through it.
Thank God I had a therapy session on the books for today already because I needed it. I am not going to go into the nitty gritty details, but.
Part of the packet was the transcript from the preliminary hearing. The testimony provided was from my stepfather and the arresting officer recounting the incident and arrest.
Those recountings paint a picture that without context makes my mother seem like a stone cold executioner.
Here's the thing: my mother was found not guilty, on account of self-defense. Which begs the question - how horrible would he have had to be to both of us to have to go that far?
I've started remembering things. It's pretty awful.
I'm not okay, but I will be.
Another important but possibly triggering show on Netflix is their expose of ICE. It is...incredibly difficult, but important to watch. I am pretty sturdy about media consumption, but I watched the first 20 minutes of the first episode and had to walk away for a while.
