Where dem Orion bitches at?
Honestly, I'd be happy just to have someplace to flesh out my Vulcan doctor, or make a 2nd or 3rd generation Trill.
I've been getting my cat used to her harness and a leash so that during the drive to Austin, when I stop to stretch my legs - she can, too. She is so angry the entire time she's going into the harness, but as soon as we get outside, she thinks everything is the best ever.
Also: 2nd migraine in as many days this week setting in. Joy.
The current smoke in the air is possibly a trigger. I literally can't go outside without getting a headache right now.
@Gingerlily I'm actually on Zoloft, but I'm wondering if I either need to consider a dosage increase, or ask for a medication specifically for when I get an anxiety spike.
@Ghost Sarahah is pretty much an invitation to let people shit all over you. You offer the opportunity for people to say anything they want to you anonymous and therefore without consequence? People are by and large assholes; what did you think was going to happen?
I am very frustrated with the fact that situations and circumstances that for most people are inconvenient or just somewhat frustrating, for me are anxiety inducing events that reduce me to a ball of frayed nerves.
@Auspice I am always a fan of watching Schmidt's Judaism run up against/meld with Cece's Hinduism.
Is there a line I would draw? I am absolutely certain there is, though what that line would be is situational. And I won't even lie about it being OOCly motivated.
Quite simply, I prefer not to RP with people that I have reason to believe dislike me OOCly, and sometimes I will refrain from my character taking an action where even if it makes sense ICly, because ultimately it puts the character in a situation I don't want to act out - particularly where romantic situations are concerned. I don't avoid consequences or conflict, and I don't enable the condition to create the former, and make sure communication is clear with the latter.
Quite frankly, if anyone wants to judge me for it, they can suck it. There's a certain level of my mental health and well-being I'm responsible for, and avoiding situations that would cause unfortunate spiral is part of that responsibility.
@Thenomain For clarification here is a summary:
Me: Have you seen Will yet?
Him: No, not yet, people keep encouraging me to watch it.
Me: You might like it, it reminds me a lot of A Knight's Tale in terms of style.
Him: I've read every one of Chaucer's works aloud!
So yes, I understand the intuitive leap to Chaucer, but we were talking about the comparison of style, not that his accomplishments with regard to reading Chaucer.
It came off, in context, like an out-of-nowhere brag, but I can see how someone on the spectrum might pluck a portion out of a conversation and zig when you thought it was going to zag.
I'm not sure I'm allowed to be frustrated by this, but:
I'm having a facebook conversation with a friend who is "on the spectrum" - he's a Shakespeare focused academic. I'd asked him if he was watching "Will", and he said he had not, but he was curious. I noted that has a very similar sensibility to "A Knight's Tale" and suddenly he started bragging about reading Chaucer. I guess he was bridging the conversation in a way that made sense to him, but felt like a complete derail to me. Am I an unreasonable bitch? In this situation, I mean. (Shut up, @Coin, @Ghost.)
Dear Bitch Co-Worker,
Next time you require special handling and re-addressing of an item for mail out, don't bury your request in a bunch of text where it won't stand out for me and the receptionist to notice. Flag your notes to my attention the way all of the other people who have your role do to insure things are processed properly. I don't have time to read novels.
Next time this happens and we confirm it didn't go where you wanted it to go in the manner your want it to go in, standing at my desk and whining about not knowing what to do is not your best course of action. But if you insist, and I actually know what to do, don't stand there and whine at me about how it's not going to work. I've been here for three years longer than you, and I know how mail out works and how to handle emergency re-ships.
And next time, don't you fucking dare go around me to have other people do MY job. I do my job, and I do it very well.
FUCK. YOU.
(I have a lot of rage right now, guys.)
@PuppyBreath said in RL Anger:
I had a crush on @Coin once. It was awful.
Don't ever have a crush on @Coin. It will destroy you!
OMG, Olivia adored Venice. Had such a huge lady crush on her.
Ooh, it was an excerpt from Robert Vavra's Unicorns I Have Known and well, a kid in third grade would totally believe this was real, right?
When I was a little kid, I saw a Time Life photospread in which white horses had been set up to look like unicorns, like the ones out of Legend. As a result, I was convinced that unicorns are real. I remarked upon it in my third grade class and got into a huge argument with my teacher about whether or not they were mythical.
@surreality Have you seen the Archer + Kingsman crossover?
Quite frankly, as far as I'm concerned if you are posting joke memes about people's suicides, you are being a shitty person and need to GTFO.
I understand that you have the right to post what you want. And I have the right to think you are behaving in a shitty fashion.
What's frustrating for me is that some of my favorite episodes were written by Moffat, but as an exec producer? He just doesn't work.
