Oh god, why am I doing this.
Yeah, there's baggage and a lot of bad blood. But I'll opt in for transparency.

RE: Good TV
It's a reimagining of another media, which was my point. It has something to pull plot points from, whereas Lost was basically "throw a dart at a plot point on the big wall".
-
RE: Good TV
@Arkandel: At least with Westworld they're working from established source material. Lost, according to some of the writers, was basically by the seat of their pants and made up as they went.

RE: RL Anger
I think it's really simple - even if you personally would never have an abortion, but you know that it's a choice, and not one you have the right to make for other people? Congrats, you're pro-choice.

RE: RL Anger
@Lisse24: Absolutely fair. I apologize for any undue stress I caused.
-
RE: RL Anger
@Lisse24: Clarification, when you say you and your sister lean pro-life yourselves, do you mean with sole regard to your own bodies, or with regard to what other women are allowed?
Edited to add: I'm not looking to pick a fight in either direction, I just want to understand your personal stance.

RE: Wiki and You
I guess I can understand people not wanting to deal with it; I on the other hand often love to constantly tweak my wiki.
I also note that learning to deal with wikis has helped me with my HTML and wiki formatting skills, as well as learning different types of formatting for different wikis. These can be framed as marketable skills to pad a resume, even if only at lower administrative levels to make one look impressive.
-
RE: Wiki and You
I love wikis. I love having visual aids that allow me to see how others see their characters - yes, I think PB's are fun. I like how they give us the opportunity to be more creative and expansive with visuals, add more character to locales, share music, etc - but most importantly, I appreciate how wikis allow me to widen my rp circle.
A lot of people take the position that wikis erase the OOC masq, but I think that's fine. Because wikis allow me to look at character pages and see that a PC I might not otherwise have occasion to approach shares an interest with my PC, or has a mutual acquaintance, and thus giving me motivation to approach them and ask for rp.
Also, I like putting information into neat little boxes.

RE: Good TV
@Insomnia: It'll probably end up on BBC America, they have less issue with showing butts.
And oh god, I found Bitten incredibly problematic, though I think the actor who played the dude who bit her was on No Tomorrow the other night. Which by the way is a really cute, clever show that probably won't last more than one season.

RE: RL Anger
Today is the 3rd year anniversary of my employment at this company. They give out number balloons on your employment anniversary, but I've never gotten one. I feel completely childish for feeling fussy about this, but dammit, I WANT MY BALLOON and some acknowledgement of my efforts.

RE: Good TV
Without spoiling, consequences of the previous season of The Flash have allowed for alterations of this season's present, and it's having a ripple effect across all of the shows. The Legends are in a different time, but since they're in a
TARDIStimeship, they can basically be wherever/whenever the writers need them to be. -
RE: RL Anger
Okay, so. Two of my co-workers who work in the same department as me got married. They invited most of the department, but there was a small handful of people who were not invited, including me.
Logical Me understands a lot of things, like they probably had a limited amount of space for people, that while I amiably chat with the bride on a number of occasions we're not exactly lunch buddies, that they may have elected to only include the people in the department that they considered within their close circle of friends.
Emotional Me is having a flashback to being a ten year old kid who had nobody show up to her birthday party, and the quiet, nasty voice murmuring in my head that nobody at my workplace actually likes me, that they think I'm weird, etc. I can't say I know it isn't true, but at least I know enough to know that it's just fear/shame/doubt talking and not actually me, if that makes any sense at all.
It's still hard, though. I don't want irrational emotions to color my behavior around the newlyweds. I mean, I'm not Maleficent, FFS. (Although wouldn't that be totally cool?) Still, I'm struggling with how to process the feeling without succumbing to it.

Jack Chick. Because who couldn't get enough of Dark Dungeons?

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
I would love a task guide. Which is to say, not a "guide on how to use the task system" (though I'd love that too) but rather a manual to the tune of "you are playing a noble with lands, these are the things you are expected to do, here are the commands most relevant to you" and so forth, same for crafter oriented types, combat oriented types, etc.
