I'm okay with it now, my earlier 'ew' is officially rescinded. I wanted an 'unread' screen with the ability to jump to the last post, and so I am happy.

Ew.
Do not like.

ETA:
MOD VOICE: I forked this topic because it shouldn't have been in Announcements. That's my bad! I started it off and I ought-not. Announcements go in Announcements, not conversations.
Note how HR doesn't complain about how that jury summons happens to have hit the exact week his mother in law is in town.

If you haven't yet, @Cobaltasaurus , grab VIKINGS from The History Channel. It's on season... 3? 4? and it is awesome.

It'd be less bad if that jackass kid would get killed off already, UGH. I want him to get eaten so bad. But then I fear he'll get taken to be the new body of the Master and then we'll have a terrible child actor wearing the most amazingly goofy mask in the world. O The Strain.

Stop talking smack about my rogues. They are the best fun!

Seriously, if I have to do something else, like get a drink of water or go check the mail, while he fixes my machine? It better be fucking fixed when I get back to my office. 4reelz.
ES
Have you started a thread and then immediately regretted it because the damn thing chimes at you with every response? There's a fix for that!
In the lower-left corner of the Original Post is a heart icon. Click on it once to get a drop-down menu. That menu includes 'watch' as a toggle: on or off. Simply click it off and you will no longer get a ping with every reply.
Enjoy!

I was working with the idea that we'd discuss it, and then... trust each other to follow it, more or less. If only a few people do otherwise for whatever reason, whether purposeful jackassery or accidental or whatever, it isn't going to off-set the roughly 350 users total.

It may be worth discussing, as a group, what the downvote is for. Is it for disagreement with content (I don't happen to think MU are overly toxic in all cases, but does that mean I downvote Anon when he says so)? Or is it for disapproval of tone and approach (Ie: ye olde BigBad acting like a jackass in the wrong forums with huge pictures)?
It's a question for the community at large, not just Admin to decide. I think the rep-system can be useful if handled lightly and with understanding by all those involved, but if folks are agin' it with the passion of a thousand burning suns, then by all means present your case.
ES
Reputation also serves as a threshold bar for user actions; you need a certain number before you're allowed to downvote, or flag. That number is one we can change.

For walking/jogging/maybe-even-biking, and how utterly immensely crazy boring it is to do that shit, you might try Zombies, Run! It's my go-to, since it's a storyline that asks you to move, and has some interactive components if you want to turn them on.
You're in a zombie post-apoc as Runner #5, and you have to go out on missions for Abel Township. There's some mystery! And fights with another town who're being jerks due to scarce resources. And you use your own playlist to be the 'radio station' playing in the background when Base isn't talking to you about your current mission. If you turn it on, there's a 'random zombie attack' feature that makes you speed up for a minute or two 'to get away' and it tracks your pacing via phone and GPS/pedometer.

Reading "it's just math, you just need to have more calories out than in" fills me with burning rage, because as a Type I diabetic, it's not just that basic. h8 h8 h8. I'm losing weight right now not because I changed my diet or my exercise, but because this stupid insulin pump got my levels regulated. That 'basic math' formula can have all sorts of hidden adjustments and ignoring that fact is frustrating as fuck.
ES
You're not alone, @Ganymede . I sometimes get the same silence at the same offer.

Hallo there. You've reminded me I ought to go add my current vamp to the list, thank you!

This is a game. Several of the threads that follow are comments posted to the original ST1 advert thread.

MOD VOICE: On request by the poster(s), and after some discussion with my fellow admin (we don't really see the point of this but it's asked and it's no skin off our backs in the end), I'm going to be removing @Bobotron's original post, as well as @Jaspar's second. That said, we're not interested in willy-nilly removing the posts the rest of you have made, so I'm going to be moving those to a new thread for this topic and life will go on.
I encourage someone with more vim about the idea of after-the-fact editing to toss up a discussion-topic on the idea, not about this in specific, but about whether we as a community think it's a useful thing to find acceptable, or not.
