(I too am one who loves the game. But games over-shooting is also why I don't pre-order anymore. If more people stopped pre-ordering, game companies wouldn't think it's okay to do it all the time.)
Me, I never pre-order. Ever.
Sorry. Launch the product first. Let me evaluate the reviews. Then I might buy in.

Should I save up for Deus Ex or buy Witcher 3?
The Witcher 3.
I liked Deus Ex: Human Revolution enough, but it doesn't even come close to how good the Witcher III is. Not even fucking close. So, I don't think Deus Ex: Mankind Divided is going to match.
Plus, Deus Ex is a Square Enix affiliate title, and I'm not too enthused with Square Enix these days.
As for Ciri's eyeshadow, just play the game. And watch this trailer:

Deus Ex is not even close.

RE: RL Anger
But have you tried it with Dr Pepper?
I thought the idea was to make it not taste like cough syrup?

RE: RL Anger
Turns out it can be super fun to try to make having sex while playing video games a game itself.
I was playing Halo with a friend of mine who totally ghosted for 2 or 3 missions. When I demanded an explanation, he provided one:
Well, my girl was over, and she told me that she would start sucking me off if I killed someone, and stop if I died. So I sniped the first chump I found, and hid in the shadows until she was done.
Best explanation ever.

I wonder how she feels now since you can pretty much sneeze and get 5k gold.
In her case, I'm not sure I want to know what comes out of her if she sneezes.

RE: The Cat Thread
@Misadventure said in The Cat Thread:
We have a nine year old cat. He is fairly sweet, but retiring. He loves to sit on us, and stay with us, ut runs from almost all company. He does not hiss at other cats unless hissed at, and expresses curiosity at kitten sounds. We'd like him to have a companion of sorts, at least another ca around when we are gone.
Query: Why?
I know that cats can have friends around, but when a cat has lived a mostly-solitary life, minus humans, why would he need company?
I have a cat: Gay Edward. My partner wanted to name him after that idiot from the Twilight series, and I didn't have the heart to dump her at the suggestion. He ended up being Gay Edward because, if a cat were gay, that'd be him. Loves guys, simpers, and just loves it when you rub him down low.
He's scared to death of the outdoors. And other things: our children; mice; stationary objects. I can't imagine having another cat for him because he'd be scared shitless. Twice we tried to introduce him to a kitten; twice we found him in a corner cowering in his own filth within an hour or two.
So, think about what the cat would want. Maybe he likes being by himself? Introvert cats aren't uncommon.

What kinda super-cat do you have that doesn't wake up at 4 am, find that the food dish is only 1/3rd full then starts wailing like the world is on fire?
The kind of cat that understands that the U.N.'s restrictions on waterboarding do not apply to me.

RE: Good TV
I so totally second or third or w/e the statement about Luke Cage.
I'm not.
I like it. I really do. But it's slower than Jessica Jones, and not nearly as entertaining or witty as Daredevil. And, yes, I'm going to say it: the acting isn't as sharp.
But it's still better than a lot of the movies.

Supergirl gives me pain. At least its presentation of feminism does ...
I don't mind it.
Not every superheroine just marches in, sword and shield, and completely out bad-asses the boys the movie's named after.

@Arkandel said in 2016-2017 Basketball Thread:
They're a marginal playoffs team unless they gel during the season.
The Knicks are going to get pasted by shooting teams like Toronto and Golden State.
And you're right, buddy: the Warriors are one injury away from being deficient somewhere. What will also hurt them this year are expectations: they are, on paper, better in their starting five than last year, so they will be expected to win more than 73 games. I think what we saw last year was a team that gave everything they got to beat the record, only to run out of gas in the Finals.
All you need to do is win enough games to take the No. 1 seed. With San Antonio missing Duncan, the Warriors should aim for 60 wins, not 74. They need to take advantage of scrub benchers for breaks.

Recently, my sister gave birth to a very early and very small preemie. Born a trimester early and weighing only a pound, there was no guarantee that she would survive the first few hours, although she thankfully did. In fact, the baby's doing extremely well, although there's still no guarantee that she'll ever be brought home.
Much love and prayer to you. My twins were premature, but not that premature. (They spent a month in the NICU.)
I'm pro-life and pro-choice. This confuses a lot of people.

Freedom of speech guarantees that you can say what you want (threats not included) and the government will not throw you in jail or take all your property for it.
This is a good way to look at it, if you are someone that doesn't want to toe the line when it comes to laws and regulations that actually infringe on the absolute right.

RE: RL Anger
How you can do that to a creature who loves you utterly is beyond me.
This is why I'm a cat-person. Because, frankly, if I die suddenly, I want someone to enjoy me.

ASUS seem to have heat issues, but are pretty durable. Plus, they are cheap on Newegg.

I'd check the lease first. Most include provisions related to terminating the lease or not renewing it after termination. At first blush, the new management appears to be nothing illegal.

Is anyone else seriously tired of "thirsty" being used to describe people (women mostly) who are interested in sex? Because I'm starting to outright hate it.
I use the term "hungry like the wolf," which is a good way to describe a horny Gangrel, I suppose.

The issue with the 'transactional' part is how... the 'nice' doesn't continue.
"Transactional" is probably a bad way to describe my own approach. Mine is an "utility" or "empirical observation" approach.
