I am enough of a bleeding heart to have cut back a bit on it for that reason, anyway.

I can understand that, but, as I said, this is less about ideology and more about whether I can do it. Weighing the benefits of getting off of flesh meat -- not to mention how it may affect my carbon footprint -- is also on my mind. I might keep to what I'm doing with a "break" day every week.

The ultimate argument of logic in the film I saw was how, physiologically, humans are closer to true vegetarians than omnivores. That caused me to look at some of the cited studies in the film, and I found myself wondering more and more as to what a shift would do for me.

Spinach is surprisingly high in protein.

I like spinach, but I added kale to my lettuce instead. If I can stomach kale, spinach ought to be really easy.

It got to the point pretty quickly. Humans piss of Dracula. Dracula wrecks their shit. Cue Belmont (now, once you get to Cue Belmont, things get slow...)

I never liked Trevor. I always preferred Simon.

Maybe you should direct your ire toward the person who came in and started slinging the shit, because that wasn't me.

I think my opinion on this is quite clear, but let me try again: yes, that was you, and it was you when you decided, wrongfully, that what was said was, in your words, "petty grudgewanky bullshit." Neither I nor several others saw it the same, and we've called it out.

You chose this hill, not I.

      This is not a leap.

      I'll bite.

Show me how you haven't leapt.

For the record, being accused of being a hypocrite is something I don't consider an attack because it is a rhetorical opening.

I hope you die of sheer happiness after all of your wishes in life are granted.

I don't wish for much, but if you have a family I hope they see you die in a fire.

(Actually, I don't, but I'm scraping for horrible things to say here.)

      @surreality said in RL Anger:

Please stop being deliberately obtuse if you're asking for shit to defuse rather than escalate.

Being accused of being obtuse is one of the most insulting things anyone can accuse me of being.

I'm making an inquiry, albeit as an interrogatory. I am clearly making an inquiry because I do not understand something. I spend literally hours a week researching and investigating things. I know when I've hit a point where something doesn't make sense or requires further explanation.

If you're going to be choose to be patronizing because you're too lazy or stupid, or both, to piece together a cogent defense, so be it. But don't for a moment think that I would preface a comment like "show me" with "I'll bite" because I've already made some sort of conclusion. Show me or don't -- either is fine -- but don't call me obtuse when I could have just as easily passed on your vacillating.

...er, discussing things that make us angry RL in the RL Anger thread is not, in any way, derailing the thread. This shit makes people angry, RL. This is a thread for things that make people angry RL.

Of course not. This is a good thread to ramble and rant in. Then again, so's Random Bitching, as far as I'm concerned, and that's where, apparently, discussing this is apparently a derailment.

But, I'm glad things have been ironed out.

      Which means, technically, I win.

      Give me a lolly.

Saw Castlevania with the partner last night. Loved it.

Then, saw an episode of A'Jin. We split; she didn't like it, but I did. Anyone else have thoughts on A'Jin? Should we move to another series?

Basically, we all as humans suck at feeding ourselves. Too many choices.

      No, no. This is wrong.

We're very good at feeding ourselves.

We're not as good in predicting what others may want.

We really shouldn't give a shit because adults should be able to obtain their own food.

But, no. We insist on partnerships and shit.

      Because we're stupid.

      Endut.

Posts today that read "I'VE NEVER WATCHED A SINGLE EPISODE OF GAME OF THRONES".

... Okay? They're the same people around superbowl who post "I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHO'S PLAYING".

It depends on context, with all things.

I've never watched a single episode of Game of Thrones. I'm nether proud nor ashamed of it. It is a statement of fact.

Now, if I said that I've never watched a single episode and I'm proud of it because people that do watch it are tremendous douchebags, then, sure I'm a dickhead.

Same with people who trump around their ignorance about the Super Bowl, as if this makes them somehow morally superior. (I know people like this.)

To me, that's like folks decrying single-payer universal health care without knowing a damn thing about it. Being ignorant is fine, but using it like a sword is like giving a child a gun.

Also man. I would throw down with @Ganymede and @Auspice with their music. Tech N9ne and Lissie both almost made my list. If I had more room--

Wisdom tells me you do nothing. The owner is scarred now, and has a tough choice to make. If you call the authorities on that dog, the dog may be put down and the woman may lose her kid. With no good options, the only reasonable choice seems to avoid the fuck out of the woman and her beast from now on.

@arkandel said in The Work Thread:

For example rates aren't decided by what you are worth, but by the minimum you will accept or stay at the role you're filling; you could do research on the current job market value for your job but unless the powers that be decide you intend to leave, or that you already have a better offer on the table, why would they pay you that if they can pay you less? It's as simple as that.

      Truth right here.

I have already negotiated and secured settlements for my institution that exceed my annual salary in the four months I've been on the job. I know I am worth far more than I am being paid right now, but I wouldn't trade this job for my last because of the benefits and the fact that I don't have to go hunting for work to do. (Shit comes to me, yo.)
