I bought the PS4 solely for The Last of Us and (when it comes out) Uncharted Remastered and the new one. Last of Us was definitely worth it.

Wait, wait, wait. They're remastering Uncharted?! It's not -that- old, is it?

Dude, they re-mastered The Last of Us for PS4.

But to the levels that it's usually taken on MU's? The poor orphaned battered sex slave that was kidnapped by the fae and then came out to find that all the things she loved and held on to are gone and everyone hates her and she lives on the streets, etc, etc, etc.

This is pretty close to my last Changeling alt's background. The difference is that she didn't talk about it.

People don't seem to understand that abuse generally goes unreported or is accepted by the victims. That's why it's so insidious, and why studies underestimate the number of actual victims.

I see nothing wrong with the concept or idea. I can accept your premise that players will fuck it up, but I see no wisdom in crafting an idea based on the ignorance of others. So, I rather like this approach, which I consider impressively nuanced for gaming-writing.

That's just begging for everyone playing Changeling: The Trauma Victim to drive every Ogre around them into a dark spiral.

I thought that was the point of it, actually. I can see how being around the abused only feeds into the cycle of abuse further, or causes the victims to lose a sense of how the world is supposed to work.

Yeah, I like the idea of Square-Enix digging back to old games, but if they don't do some work on the dialogue, I'm not going to invest in it. I liked Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Knights of the Old Republic, The Last of Us, and any other game I've purchased in the past 5 years because they were geared to my narrative sensibilities.

That said: PS4. The Last of Us 2 will likely be another Sony exclusive, and there are probably more in store. PS4 seems to bring games of better narrative quality, and that's what I now look for.

      @Fortune

You really should check out v20. There are a few system tweaks that make the game much more enjoyable for anyone. I like it a lot more than Revised, especially for Vampire and Werewolf.

Less than 23 hours till the werewolf and vampire slots open.

Remember, it's not a reservation. You need to cg/submit so have everything ready to go before then.

      Done. Waiting.

But again, isn't this -exactly- the reason that you maintain a Herd/Domain/whatever? So that you don't have to go actively hunt the shit down all the time, and can devote your time to other things? I don't think a coded system that allows people to skip over this rather important and thematic bit is a good system, either.

It isn't. This is my hold-up on Fallcoast's vampire sphere. I don't think it'll work without code changes, and without a dedicated coder, I don't know if I'll be the one heading it up.

That's when they learn to go to the farmer's market by themselves.

I get groceries on my own. I do errands on my own. I go to work on my own. And when the partner is in bed, and the kids are sleeping, I MU* on my own.

People need to learn to do shit on their own. Doing shit together is fun and all, but I hate people who can't do shit on their own.

Stupid, inconsiderate morons in supermarkets who leave their cart in the middle of the aisle as they browse the shelves or talk to a second moron whose cart is also in the middle of the aisle.

I learned long ago to be courteous and park my cart outside of narrow aisles, and walk into the aisles to get what I want.

Fair enough. That's certainly true. People who OOCly revel in the more antagonistic aspects of their IC factions are always a teeth grinding affair.

And this is why it is sometimes difficult to be a Sanctified PC. You sort of get lumped in with the Sabbat-wannabes.

The problem I have with spheres in any sort is that the people in them feel responsible to come up with an answer even if they don't know.

Don't forget about the people who ask the sphere staff with the expectation of an answer. They are a massive problem too.

The main question here (for me) is, if you forget to, don't participate in the system or just don't find gathering scenes appealing - a likelihood when it comes to something your character is, after all, engaged in all the time - do you die from hunger/be drained to nothing eventually?

Easy code fix: you lose the daily vitae in the event that you log on after a 24 hour cycle. So, if you log on at 0900 on Monday, you will lose the vitae if you log on after 0900 on Tuesday, but if you log on next at 0900 on Thursday, you still only lose 1 day's worth of vitae for waking up.

It will get annoying to deal with. Especially when no other splat (to my knowledge) deals with that struggle (IE, an automatic cost just for existing), and tend to have far easier ways to get their 'energy' back.

That's because no other splat is so focused on politics, save for Demons (maybe). This is the strength and weakness of Vampire in the oWoD or nWoD: it has the potential to create its own conflict without intercession, if maintained properly, but needs a substantial amount of structure and system-enforced needs to operate.

I'm pretty much the opposite. I like WoD, but even a WoD game is going to get a pass if it's set in the past. I can handle alt-present, or possible future, but if you try to set a game much before the 90s I'm just eeeeeenh.

How dare you disrespect New Wave Requiem.

I never intend to be mean, ES, but I can often be blunt.

Being a Sanctified is tricky. Many Sanctified PCs have been quite reviled. It goes hand-in-hand with their philosophy. They are like really anal-retentive Sabbat at times: preachy and boring. So, it's not your fault, but being Sanctified may be the reason why people are avoiding you.

    • RE: Ghoulage on Kingsmouth

I'm reviving this thread so I don't have to start another one.

Requiem for Kingsmouth is a crunchy vampire political game. Because of that, it is nearly impossible to be an Army of Me and expect to get far. I'm really starting to get into my PC there, but I'm hoping to open/start a coterie or troupe there that includes ghouls and vampires, and the occasional mortal hanger-on.

You should really check out their website at http://kingsmouth.info, and take a look around. The staff is responsive there, if a little over-worked. The players there are second-to-none so far, and that's incredible. I've been lucky to get in with some friends from Reno, and my RP has taken off.

If you're having problems getting RP there, let me know -- I'll try to get you into it more. The political situation is tense and chaotic due to VII activity and the recent death of the PC Prince.

So if you're looking for a vampire game with a distinctive political feel, give this one a try. If you want to try it out, I'm open to ghouls, and could use one or two. You can find me there as Cai or PM me here if interested.

I have trouble finding RP. I ask on various channels and in the OOC Room and get silence more often than offer. I'm not sure if it's because I'm playing a Lance Vamp, so folks don't want to get all up ins? Or maybe I've just lost my touch. πŸ™‚
