As someone who has only ever TS'd because other people pressured them into it...
Frown.
Sad to say that's probably more common than people talk about.

I heard similar about that place. Ive also run into players that don't stick around unless there's TS so I figured that would be likely there.
To be honest, I don't think I've engaged in TS any more than a couple of times with my noblewoman, but I have had some great RP with others. If either of you want to dip a toe in, I can probably help out a bit. The staff there are really great, and a lot of the players can be very engaging.
I'll keep that in mind if I return. I dig the setting.
@Tinuviel Upvoting out of solidarity and support, not out of liking that there's a fire.

@Ghost
re: Kushiel games, the two I've played I played characters that weren't really into the sex for IC reasons. I got just about zero RP as a result. And on one game, Staff outright told me it was my own fault for not being TS-able. So yeah, you made the right call IMO.

How much do your TS habits change based on the MU*'s themes? That is, do you find your characters are more promiscuous on say, a Kushiel game than a World of Darkness one? Do you TS considerably more often? Is it easier (or harder) to find partners - and are they actually better at TS on average?
My TS habits factored more on game selection than anything, and were more baseline the same regardless of game. So I tended to avoid games like Kushiel, Shang, etc because I wasnt looking to write that kind of stuff (best to mitigate by avoidance). I'm weird, though, because I think the more in my brain I call it TS the more something other than writing a scene it becomes. So I never really made purposefully promiscuous characters with the intent to TS about it.
As far as the "SAFE" question goes, I'm in a similar boat with @Tinuviel and @Ganymede. SAFE as a term only had to do with the age and "ooc bleed factor" of the player. I was less concerned about stuff like "whether their character would dump mine" or anything clingy. I just wanted to make sure that I wasn't writing anything inappropriate with a minor or that it wouldn't adversely affect some less stable RL person on the other end of the keyboard.
This is totally what I hoped to see when I started this thread.

@Arkandel Yes, thank you. Can I add one?
What is the definition of a SAFE TS partner, and if TS is just creative writing why is safety an important factor?

meh.
@Spitfire Closure is good stuff. Good on you.

Coworker calls you while you are on vacation (waking you up) because he cant figure out why automation scripting that is asking for mmddyy is failing when he enters mmsdyyyy
Also...
...he made the same mistake a month ago and called me in the middle of the night a month ago for the same thing.
Also...
The fucking script was giving him an error message about mmddyy.
@wahoo Yanno...
...a good/concerned citizen might identify this car in the fire lane as a risk to the safety of their neighborhood and report it, lest it result in an obstruction that could keep a fire truck from saving lives were there an emergency.
Wouldn't want good people to get hurt, yea?
With that....i go back to roller coasters and booze.

Sorry, it's a little early and I'm having trouble drumming up an unnecessary intensity 8 response to help me feel like I'm getting my point across.
Back to TS talk.
Its okay if people think its nannehnanneh boo boo or nanabooboo. That important thing is that people are enjoying it and that it ends in booboo. Not to be mistaken as "boob ooo". There are lots of different kinds of people out there from all different walks of life, and like I learned from being a parent it's probably best not to reserve judgment and just let people say what they want while understanding that it's all pretty much saying the same thing.
Also: Staff totally monetize their time through TS partners. From 1995-2008 it was the most reliable way to get a Force User slot.
Hah. Slot. eyooooo
