    • RE: RL Anger

This victim blaming has me frothing at the mouth. A woman should be able to dance naked drunk as a skunk down the street, shouting that she is a Godess of love, and NO MAN SHOULD SAY SHIT, TOUCH HER, COMMENT OR DO ANYTHING TO HER WHAT SO FUCKING EVER!

Apart from getting arrested for disturbing the peace, or whatever you would get arrested for doing that, maybe.

But that there are people STILL that go 'Oh, but she had it coming when she did that' is so fucking awful.. Well, shit. Having friends that have been stalked, assaulted, sexually harassed - simply doing ordinary day to day things - what the fuck? And as mentioned above, ANYONE should be able to go out, have a good time, get drunk with friends - and expect to be safe. It is not the victim that needs to be told anything, it is the attacker. Always.

We banned a customer at work (I work for a delivery company) - we no longer deliver ANY goods to this guy. I had the satisfaction of telling him this over phone cause he was groping, trying to kiss and sexually harassed one of our drivers (while constantly saying 'This isn't MeTOO, don't worry!'I told him exactly why - the woman in question chose NOT to make a police report, and that is up to her (she is tough and hasn't been that affected it appears, but still, we're not sending ANYONE to that guy again.) Told him to come pick up his fucking parcel himself and exactly what I thought about him and his actions.

Unfortunately I didn't get to see his face, a colleague gave him his parcel. Probably just as well. Fuck that guy and every other asshole like him.

Alright, thanks for the answers all 🙂

I guess it's a bit harder to take care of that many... we're only 10 million in the entire country here, and that's ALL people, not just those who can vote.

The fact you have to register to do something that is your full right has me so entirely baffled. Why is it like that? (Honest question, no sarcasm here.)

      Isn't citizenship good enough?

Every four year over here, every eligible voter gets sent a voting card. No charge, no registering - we're already registered to be citizens. Then we go vote, bringing our voting card and ID, they compare it to the 'voting ledgers' and notes down that this person voted and which instances they voted for (and then of course there's several checks along the way before the final results are in.)

    • RE: How to start?

Having been in this hobby for decades on and off, it has indeed changed. Bar RP used to be how you met people (and you still do to a certain degree), but I think many players these days look for more meaning. Back then, there were no wikis. At the most you'd get some hints from people's +fingers and could work out some hooks pre-RP which made things easier and more in debt once you started scening. Working out hooks in advance now is much more common, so bar RP doesn't really exist on the same level.

My best advice? Throw a post up, suggesting hooks for your character towards others. Look at wikis to see who might be in the same fields as you, and contact them via mail or page. And if saying you'd like to RP on channels, have a basic premise. Example: 'I'm going to go to the park and have an impromptu open picnic if anyone wants to join' or 'I'm going to the laundromat for some RP. If you wash your clothes there too, we could bump into each other'. It doesn't have to be big or complicated, but many people love the chance for something that isn't bar RP in my experience.

Donated some too. Love cats (got three myself) and I am particularly fond of black cats of which I got one myself.

The game is still in Alpha and there's been ALL people apping in AT ONCE. And the mage staffer is also the main coder who is coding everything that isn't still done, because you know. Alpha.

I returned to the hobby on Darkwater after being away for years and years, and enjoyed every single minute of it. I had more activity on that game than on many big ones. Loved it, and am grateful for the chance to come back to the hobby with so nice people. Cobalt, I hope we run into each other on other games - we never did get to RP much, but I loved the scenes we did have. 🙂 And I'm going to follow the little crowd to FC once it opens. Audgrim as a lifeguard on the beach - how could I go wrong with that, eh? 😄

Western style game, please please please.
Maybe with alternate reality so there could be supernatural shit happening, long as it's western style.

@selu You can have 2 alts (either 1 mortal+ and 1 ling, or 2 lings, or 2 mortal+), but you can't have say, two autumn courtiers. They can't be in the same faction. And only one can be in the metaplot.

It is literally the easiest process I've ever encountered anywhere, barring those that don't even require any sort of concept write up. The only thing is, there's no actual CG so you have to write down your stat distribution in a +request, and they will set up your sheet. After that, EVERY xp spend is free barring some few very specific ones. You get 180 xp to start with.
Also extremely helpful players to help you out.

The concept can be a paragraph, basically. 🙂
I was used to writing long BGs and had to actually cut half of it down cause it didn't even fit in the limited space they allow you to write the concept. They literally don't want you to write long ones.

    • RE: Darkwater: The Return

Hey there. Just wanted to throw out that if anyone's interested in trying out the game, I've got two (current) NPCs in a PrP I'm running, that could be made easily into PCs. http://darkwater.wikidot.com/log:2018-03-31-prp:port-angeles-blues-worker-men for a glimpse into one of them - a policeman who was taken. the other is also a police NPC, a woman. I don't staff on DW so I can't say exactly what sort of role such a PC could get if they wanted to rejoin the police force ICly - but anyone playing would have an instant in with the Bureau PCs, all whom are awesome. (The Bureau is a secret agency investigating the supernatural). The concept is not so set that it doesn't allow for pretty much anything you'd like to play, changeling wise. Heck, it could even be a Faetouched as of now.

I play Audgrim and Eric on DW - if you want to check it out, just give me a hollar in game or on here via chat message.
The quality of the players and RP is the best I've had ever, so come check us out either or!
