I forgot how constipated you can get, spending two days in bed. Oof.

My rehab has added a new exercise to the routine. I don't know the name of the machine I'm using, but I call it the pap smear machine because even though I'm seated and upright that's what I think of any time my feet are in stirrups that spread my legs. Anyway, the point of the machine is to bring your knees together against the resistance of the weights tied to the stirrups. You know the one.

I am dipping into my squirrel-stash of prescription painkillers today because Jesus fuck, my groin.* It's like someone's tightening a winch in my thigh muscles. You should have seen the undignified waddle-lurch I had to do just to get downstairs today.

Take good care of your body, kids. Maintenance is boring but it's so much easier than repair is.

I get the "I don't like the art style" argument. Like, I want to watch the new He-Man cartoon just to piss off the chuds who are complaining that the show is RUINED FOREVER because He-Man (more like "She's The Man," amirite?) sold out to Hollywoke, but ugh, it's so hard for me to look at those promo clips and not see that commercial of the two dudes in the muscle suits dancing together in a bar.

I didn't realize so many people were skeptical of She-Ra's art style. I was excited for it from the beginning, maybe because I knew enough about the original series to be able to contrast the feeling of these are people I want to get to know versus the feeling of this (because let's be real, they're all the same character) is what others want me to be.

I agree it's not necessarily a gender thing, but I'm already tired from all the YouTube reviews I see whose thumbnails complain, "WOKENESS RUINED HE-MAN!" or whatever.
