RE: RL things I love
I'm glad so many people are dragging that stupid "Imagine" video making the rounds right now, even if I wish they'd show a little more perspective and remember a dumb publicity stunt from celebrities deserves to be held to a lower standard than, for example, our elected officials.

RE: Real World Peeves, Disgruntlement, and Irks.
If nothing else, I hope posting that here will minimize the "good, maybe violence will wake people up/cut some of the diseased flesh from our society" responses from people who are comfortable in the certainty that their own blood shall remain safely inside their skins and this fact somehow makes them arbiters of who else should bleed for society's benefit.

Not really gallows humor, but I want to share it with everyone I can.

Sounds like garden variety childishness.

No one actually expects a store to be sanitized do they?
In America? Yeah. We do not accept personal responsibility for our health, and we really like suing others.

Expecting apartment staff to be able to keep up the standards of cleanliness required right now to avoid the spread of the disease is not a reasonable expectation.
It's not reasonable, but I'm seeing it everywhere. My gym requires trainers to sanitize every surface one of us touches when we're done touching it, not users, because they can't accept responsibility for users cleaning equipment. GameStop is pretending it's providing sanitizers to its employees to keep their stores clean (side note, do not visit GameStop, as anonymous employees report these claims of sanitized stores are lies). It's a mess.

I suspect it's less about your safety than their fear of legal liability.
What liability?
If you get sick on their premises, there's at least an argument to be made that your illness is their responsibility for not disinfecting the facility; and if they get sued, I can't imagine their business owner insurance covers pandemics.

My apartment complex just closed our Laundry Rooms, as if being forced to go to the laundromat is gonna be safer?!

@Testament I just do not get the toilet paper thing...
When you can't control the crisis you're in, you control something unrelated to feel better about yourself. "I may die of a disease my government is too incompetent to control, but at least I'll have a well-wiped ass and everyone else will have a dirty one."

No, boss, I did not put literally what you said in a motion to be passive aggressive and send it to you with nothing else. I did it because you told me that's what you wanted in the motion and I've never done it before.
This is why people exasperate me. Jesus Christ say what you mean you compulsive liars

I've been making the same argument over here, reminding folks that as a matter of international law they are different. Seems nobody cares.
It's not about the law. It never was. If it was, then people would care what the law actually says. It's about white supremacists wanting to be white supremacists while pretending they're not white supremacists, that's all.

I have never known any amount of armchair psychology to be useful to anyone. We're not the ones who are going to solve whatever's wrong with that guy. Best just to keep them out of our lives, imo.
I find it very useful. If I know what's precisely wrong with the kinds of people liable to make my life worse, and I know how to spot early warning signs of their behaviour, then I know how to protect myself.
Did this guy make my life worse? No. Not even a little bit. But there are a million other guys like him out there, and they are everywhere. They're incredibly predictable and not nearly as special as they like to think. It doesn't hurt to go through life with a radar in mind.
Agreed. It's not about fixing him; fixing him is his own problem. It's about making the patterns easier to identify so other people can recognize them.
