RE: The Work Thread
Submission day for my module. 60 students. Submission point IT is down.
All of them are phoning/emailing/visiting me in a panic.

RE: RL things I love
Apparently wombats in fire effected areas are not only allowing other animals to take shelter in their deep, fire-resistant burrows but are actively herding fleeing animals into them.
Forgot to edit: I got caught by fake news here. They are not herding them in. But they are, as grouchy, preferring to be alone, creatures, accepting that others might be able to come in, if they stay over there and don't talk to them.

I am so sorry to hear that. I am sorry for your loss. Her friends will be grateful to you for letting them know.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
@Ganymede And a dozen other things known to medics. 80% of chest exams are done with listening and looking, and not by pain symptoms. So. Yes, could be those, or something else. I could list a dozen other things but the thing is - without a physical exam, I can't tell. And I'm trained to be able to diagnose.

RE: Health and Wealth and GrownUp Stuff
Am a nurse consultant type - I've been sitting on my hands here. See a doctor - from your description it could be anything. The only way anyone would know is to do a proper exam. If you have anxiety around this, speculating probably is not helpful

@Auspice Last picture there reminds me of @JinShei storytelling... I'm the cabbage in the bucket.
I'm hurt, man. I mean.... I only hurt you because you like it.

If any of our forum members are in Australia and are anywhere near those fires, my heart goes out to you. Speak up if you need anything.
Seconded.

RE: What do you eat?
I've been a vegetarian all my life due to hippy parents. So I didn't make the choice to be vegetarian but I do choose to keep it going - mostly because I remember the information on animal treatment. This means, practically, that when someone did serve me ham in a pasta dish, I started feeling very sick before I noticed and then threw up the entire night (on a five-hour drive home - yay). My husband is a Northern Irish lad whose prefered diet is meat plus potatoes. So it is a delicate balancing act in our home. He eats more vegetarian, we have meat in the house which occasionally I cook because he respects my choices and I respect his.
B-group vitamins are a problem, not least because one of my meds stops dietary uptake of them, making it even harder.
My father went through a vegan stage (the absolute-evangelical type) during my teens when we rebelled by hiding milk and cheese in our rooms

Mine too. Beans on toast with cheese. Poached egg on toast, with avocado if I have one that isn't mushy or rock hard. Cheese on toast.
