RE: Critters!
Adding today's Doolittle.. We were literally sitting watching the view, and these guys wander in. They have names according to my mother... So here you are, Internet Peoples

RE: Critters!
My mother is actually Mrs Doolittle. In her little 4 acre plot, she has deers, foxes, and many birds, all living happily. She recorded this yesterday.
Oh, and we ate late yesterday and someone was starving to death.

RE: Pokemon Go
@Cobaltasaurus Been using those! I never go to raids so it was nice to do without standing in the rain with a bunch of people from around here I REALLY don't want in my life!

RE: RL things I love
My grandmother had 7, but ... she also had 30 dogs, two donkeys, some random birds and an African grey. Oh, and my granddad.

RE: Productive Self Care
If your brain is busy but you are too exhausted, invest in audiobooks of the books you love but know well. That way, you are engaged but not so much you stay awake.

the bisexual council needs to meet to decide our policy on this
Did you miss the meeting? I'll send you my notes.
Crucifixion was mentioned.
Look, you guys have to remember to send the agenda around. Did Helen at least bring the cakes this time? It was her turn and last time...

RE: RL things I love
@Ganymede I saw that today. There is a tiny part of me (well trained by work) that can feel pity for someone who hates themselves that much that they have to pile hatred on to others who look like they feel inside. But also, fuck that wanker. (the bisexual council needs to meet to decide our policy on this)

Working as a substitute teacher is starting to wear me down a bit. Waking up at 5-6 every work day, only to have to wait for two hours to see if I even get booked anywhere that day sucks. And then having to go to an entierly new place of work more than half the time, new place, new people, new students and try to be some manner of authority in a class where half the time I have been given no or barely any instruction as to what the students are supposed to actually do. I mean I am a glorified babysitter for a gang of kids, but it is hard to keep them in their seats if I can't even give them something to do.
It's nothing terrible or anything, I am just coming up on a year of this and the uncertainty and a lack of consistency in my days, my work and my paycheck. I'm sure some people thrive in this type of waking up everyday having no idea where you will be or what you will do work, but it isn't the long term life for me.
I used to do agency nursing, where you'd get booked, go to random new places and it really suited my family life then but... now? Hell no.

RE: The Crafting Thread
Our new "hobby". These come with a little nose thing, and a space for you to put a filter. (edit, we're selling them with a Buy One, Give One model for our local community).

@SinCerely You made that ring?! That is amazing...

RE: Diversity Representation in MU*ing
I was recently poking at the Urban Shadows RPG for ProjectThing, and I am reminded of the introduction where they say they trust us to try, and that is in my mind a lot when I start considering my characters. I've found my PB file (I start with a picture, alright?) diversifying, becoming older, less white.

I'm sitting here, writing a vision for our local area, asking people to believe we can build a community using a building our council have abandoned. This is a massive piece of work, unpaid and possibly to fail...

@Kestrel He was the most sexualised of my characters. I played a white court vampire elsemu who literally induced pleasure by cookies and got less sexual harassment.

Or they're cheating on their partner, because bi people are greedy and can't help it.
On the more original topic, I did play a PoC - a man - on Windy City. I spent a considerable amount of time and effort refusing to be sexualised. It would be hard to know how much was man character or otherwise but yeah, there were some comments about my PB too from a couple of particular players. I took to saying he was on the bench and not interested, even inventing a sorrowful story about his gay lover to try and cool it but had someone try to convert him, and another claim the pack required her to test his control
