@Grayson, @SilentHills, @Cobaltasaurus -- with a bit of luck, maybe some day we'll bump into each other somewhere else. Here's to hoping (although admittedly I am not really one to shop around for games a whole lot, I tend to stay in one place for a long time if it works out for me).

Trying to decide whether to cut off contact with the parental unit after decades of verbal abuse. Straw that broke the camel's back was being told that fat people (like me) are shameful and disgusting and need to not go out in public so that normal people don't have to look at us.

My life isn't so great this week.

Hee. For me, of course, it means I could even get back into the hobby after a ten year plus break.

I don't think tags will make much difference, since people's ideas of what 'glacial' means will vary very much.

Personally I make sure up front that people know I'm a no-good European who sleeps when real people are awake, and that anyone who wants to play with me needs to accept that. A number of people will not deal with that, and they wouldn't turn up if the scene said 'glacial' either.

Where 'normal' does indeed depend on what side of the planet you're on.

Yes, I'm wildly envious of people who get to consider 'live' scenes normal.

@Roz Always best to clarify that right there before the scene even starts. And yes, approaching someone and asking if they want to do something only to have them bail the instant they realise that I'm not on US time is pretty common -- but at least it's less disappointing than having them abandon the scene three poses in.

I'd prefer 5 minutes and doing scenes 'live'.

However, I'm on European time, and the people I play with tend to be asleep when I am awake, or at best, at work. So I tend to consider myself lucky if I get a pose a day -- though sometimes, I manage to have a bit of time overlap and get maybe a handful of pose rounds in with someone.

So I voted for the last option because that's what most RP I can get is like.

Why not? I've met people a few times and gone what the hell, didn't I know you back in whenever...

Gray Harbor is horror themed but has nothing to do with WoD. It comes down to what exactly you mean by 'horror' -- urban American Call of Cthulhu is probably where I'd end up if I had to apply one, quick label.

@insomniac7809 I think you're absolutely right about that. You only need to take a look at any incarnation of say, the Arthurian legends in film. Rinso white in spite of the original 15th century work, Morte d'Arthur, naming numerous POC characters around the Round Table. Habits die hard.

That is an argument I am not qualified to have on the simple basis of not being American. I have no very little idea of how this subject is handled in the US. Black History Month is definitely not a thing here.

Awareness is increasing of the presence of POCs in Europe before, well, 1970. Their presence was never denied here, though, until fairly recently -- which is, to me, what makes it a white supremacist agenda. Fiction, art, poetry, historical accounts from just a few generations ago all treat POCs as -- well, just part of the scenery. Yes, they existed. Sometimes they were referenced in funny or strange ways, like 9th century accounts calling black people 'bluemen'. But they were definitely there, and pretending otherwise is a new, and highly questionable agenda.

Just a headsup that as of yesterday, KarmaBum and AlmightyMe have passed the game on to the next generation and Grimdarque is now the game runner. The transition to a new server went smoothly.

Speaking as a regular player I want to thank KBAM for the fantastic game they made as well as for having the grace to let it continue under new management.

Here's to another couple of years running from the Veil monsters!
