RE: Arx's Elevation Situation
I would think even when the systems are ready, there will probably be some warning and a period of story wrap up. I mean, we can be excited about the idea that there will be a time jump while knowing realistically that they aren't going to one day just shut the game down to player logins to do a time jump.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
But-- the-- email-- isn't required--. As Apos has said. Yes, the system is designed for an email, but individually, that can be waived and done by hand, as Apos has said.
Like, I get being annoyed by code that isn't done the way you'd do it. (Hey, I'm a programmer too!) But literally, people are going to code things the way they code them. If that's a deal breaker for you, that sucks, too bad. There's certainly no requirement for you to use it. But-- why are you so invested in it being the /wrong/ choice?
There's no right/wrong in code. Only wrong. And tears.

RE: Forum Factions
@Thenomain Indeed, sir. None of these are meant to be serious. (Except the roaming gang of language policing feminists. we're real, and we're out there.)

@Sunny No, Belladonna is the best. Sylvie is a super close second for sure! Or some order that doesn't really matter.
And I love doing ascii/ansi art. I don't care what anyone says. I don't usually do colors like that, but anyone on game can probably vouch for me being willing to help out with abusing the poor ansi more.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
I think where my objections to 'not fair' comes in is boiling everything that happened down to a generic label of 'crazy'. One, I hate that fucking word. Two, it's reductive to the conversation.
There are things to be discussed re: interactions, but dismissing everything out of hand as crazy and obsessive, especially when someone is poking at buttons that have been demonstrated over and over--
Not fair?
(And editing to be clear that I don't think those discussions are mine to have either, Kanye Qwest. You are right that this is your hobby and it is your choice of what you want to do. I will leave those discussions to staff.)

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
Well, I certainly can't. You might be on to something there about diminishing returns. On the other hand, I'd be really annoyed to feel like I worked really hard for all my support only to get it strangled. On the other hand, as a lady with a full-time job that doesn't really allow for RP during work hours and a life and obligations, I dislike being naturally poorer than others, so. On the other hand, there is always going to be naturally some of that, where people who can RP more just get more, and I feel like I am just being whiny.
I have a lot of hands. It's because I am really two kids in a trenchcoat. That's four hands.

@Salty-Secrets If you do not have a shotgun, one will be provided for you at a discounted charge.
Also, I am seriously glad that people came by and liked the thread. It was started on a silly notion, just to have fun.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
... No. There can be bad players within a week of a game opening. I mean, the time of a game doesn't relate to whether a player is or isn't ban-worthy. Implying that is silly.

RE: RL Anger
@shangexile those are some transactional forum ethics I can endorse. Thumbs up, my bro-tep.

They are a myth. Like Santa clause.

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
I wish I knew more about the situation. Nothing happens in a vacuum. There's never one straw and never just one interaction. I am not staying quiet out of fear of retaliation; I have spoken my mind openly to staff, politely I hope, when I disagree. But we've only vaguely heard one side, and that really isn't something I can call anyone on.
Do I think @lordbelh is a good roleplayer? Yes. Do I think he seems pretty fair? Yes. I do also think that he can come across a little gruff and terse. I certainly had a few situations with him where I didn't appreciate something he did. (And by a few, I literally mean like, two.) I am sure he has thought the same of me.
But I have also had enough interactions with staff to have trust in them. They have dealt fairly with me and people that I know. They have gone out of their way to be helpful and create stories. Do I think they have made mistakes? Sure. Every new game does.
So without more from both sides, I don't want to put my foot into my mouth and speak out for either.
Anyways. More two cents for the day that anyone can take for what they will.

RE: RL Anger
I don't get the idea that we focus on whether someone has said they are quitting or not. I mean, I guess it's part of your drinking game, but I really don't get it. I think there are a shitton of people, myself included, that have said varying degrees of 'peace' and then come back to posting in varying timelines. Makes it a good addition to a drinking game, for sure, but what does it illustrate about the person that I am missing?

RE: Coming Soon: Arx, After the Reckoning
No, I did not know staff before this game. I have not had your experience with staff, not that I am saying it is any less valid. I know I did have apprehension approaching them in the beginning, because that is just how it is for me in approaching new, unknown staff and asking for things. I am sure I have been misunderstood, but I can't think of an incident off the top of my head. I know I have had my disagreements with Apos, at least, and I can think of multiple times.
I do think transparency would help in most situations, certainly. Definitely in this one.
I am sorry for what you are feeling right now.

@WildBaboons I think that'd be the entire forum.
I'm disappointed you think that.
Let's talk about your disappointment for 10 pages.

RE: MSB: The meta-discussion
I was going to say something profound about invisible tallies of good and negative and shit but-- I got nothing. Idk. I don't think our community would be better off without MSB. And at the very least, I think even if someone decided to close the doors tomorrow, we'd be left with a vacuum that would, I'd say, make the community /worse/ off.
But I've seen you catch a lot of flak for even posting different opinions to bullshit levels, so I can agree with some of your points.
It's just more complicated of a tally than I think it is getting simplified down to.
(Also, anyone who wants to avoid me over a post I've made on this forum, please. Feel free.)
