Yes, the board asked for more moderation, but I do feel like it's people in the middle that are getting caught out in an unfair way. People like @Tempest are always going to post what they are going to post, but the rest of us, well. We could benefit from some clarity.

And this isn't about disliking any mod. I hope that @Ganymede and @Auspice know that I like them. I like @Arkandel. But I dislike things being unclear.

Please stop throwing a 'You asked us to' at us every time we have questions. Not all of us are using a personal vendetta card.

I'm gonna be one of those people. Making one of those masturbatory 'I am leaving' posts. I am not currently playing anywhere; the energy and desire to go play somewhere is slim to nil on most days. I don't see that changing in the foreseeable future. It probably also doesn't come as a surprise that I am going through a tough time right now just in general. So since I am not actually participating in the community and given everything else, I'm gonna take a step out of the community for now.

Man, so. I forgot to check MSB for a few days and then logged in and caught up on drama. Then promptly realized-- I just don't care any more. About RP, and MU*s. I used to be avidly interested in what is still going down but I just am not.

Maybe depression, maybe I am growing up. Maybe I will come back in a month with an itch to try a new game. Who knows. I'm not claiming to quit forever but I'm quitting for now.

Hi guys! I am posting for @Cobaltasaurus this time. We all go through rough patches, and she is going through one right now. So, one more opportunity to earn your MSB cares badge and donate to help someone who has done a lot for our community.

The go fund me has all of the information, but in the tl;dr of her own words: I lost the job that was keeping me afloat with a week's notice, spent everything I had moving across the country so I wouldn't end up stranded/homeless in December. Have new job lined up (delivery) but need to get my insurance transferred (apparently car insurance is per state :/), and get it registered, and I don't have the funds to do that. Need Money > Get Job > Need Money For Job. >_<

If you can't get the motivation to learn it, then don't do it. I guarantee that your motivation when working in a career for it will hit the floor often, even when you like it. I go days without having motivation to produce the specific code that people tell me to produce. My coworkers do all the time as well.

It only gets harder when you are being told exactly what to code. It only gets harder when you realize people are telling you to code something you think is a piece of shit (or a bad idea) and you still have to do it because they are the ones paying your salary.

I'd recommend getting an internship asap and seeing how a shop operates. You'll know better then if this is something you could potentially do as a career or not. But burn out in software engineering is a very real and common thing.

@seraphim73 That's being slightly reductive to the point that @Kanye-Qwest was making. The point she was making is that @Auspice /did/ use it in a very flippant, sarcastic manner in another thread immediately after telling one thread that it was stupid not to have realized another post she made wasn't made as a moderator.

Her point wasn't about the use of MOD VOICE in and of itself.

I think the multiple complaints from multiple women about the behavior of this one staffer has to be taken into consideration. Sure, this one single incident may be in question, but at what point does the amount of people saying it get taken into consideration? How many people have to tell you that 'this staffer is x' (choose anything for x that you might not want as behavior on your game for staff) before you take action?

Unless you bring up the strawman of 'well what if they are all working together to get someone fired'! Sure. If all the people are accusing are really close friends, that could be also taken into consideration. But if it spans people who don't know each other, reported often enough that it's a bit of a meme on the subreddit?

@auspice Can we not escalate this into saying that? That someone having an issue with something makes it so that they have a vested interest in hurting someone or seeing them hurt?

I am going through this weird period of depression and anxiety where I find it really difficult to drag myself into work, compounded by daily headaches and often, migraines. All of my energy seems to be like, sweating out of me, and I can practically see it leaving my body but I can't stop it.

It doesn't help that my job sucks and my house is a mess and just, bleh. I feel like there has to be some way to get my life together, but man, having the energy to do that seems impossible and then I feel worse.
