@mudrammer so i am trying to say this in the most constructive way. I am sure your game is great, but you say you've been polishing it for decades. And like, one can tell. Because your website looks like it is from the 90s.

It is weirdly small, doesn't flex to the screen, and is hard to read. I tried to read some helpfiles but the font was really small and gray against gray.

Ok but like, who wants to go all in on building a dragon breeding code with me for my game idea.

      Anyone?

One day, I will do it. Because a dragon breeding minigame sounds fun as shit. And by one day, you guys know what I mean.

So everyone can have a gold of their own?

no, obviously the color would depend on the genes of the parents. if you breed a black and a white dragon, you're going to get a grey dragon. breeding works that way, right.

@groth also motivation to code even for something you like (or get paid for) is sometimes hard to come up with? Just like anything. That is why a lot of people don't write books or make games for fun, or etc etc.

I've had a game idea bouncing around in my head for years, I know how to code, and that is as far as it has ever gotten.

@gangofdolls Yeah. You don't think feelings be like that, but they do. No one set out to put anyone into a gotcha situation. I think it is inevitable that people will fall off; I don't think I've seen any game where all of the people ever hooked in. And the game will get settled and hopefully yeah, apps open. If you're still interested then, it'll be fun to play with you!

I do honestly hope that a game that is good for you does open too, though. The lack of games is definitely I think something we are all feeling. I'd put it to like, our hobby just getting older. Not a lot of people having free time to run the games.

@gangofdolls I am sorry you feel that way. It's definitely not a good feeling to feel punished for working, or feel punished for living in a different timezone, or anything like that. I know I've had the same feelings before, but on a different game. It's Not Fun. Sorry you are bummed 😞

That is a fair complaint. I can understand your point of view, Tinuviel.

One could argue though that if they had announced that there'd be limited spots, that people who were undecided about apping would take one just because they wouldn't want to miss out. Which would leave people who really wanted to play not being able to get a spot too, but because of people who just wanted to grab a spot because they were limited.

There's no real right or wrong, I'd argue. Different choices could be made, but it's hard to have foresight to tell which is the correct one.

I think there is a certain magic in the randomness of people that you come across in M*s. I love the feeling of playing with a new person

That magic feeling is called masochism.

Look, if you want to explore that sometime, in more intimate detail, hit me up.

don't kinkshame me. wait, I guess that wasn't shaming.

I think there is a certain magic in the randomness of people that you come across in M*s. I love the feeling of playing with a new person that you just click with and you play off each other in ways that you've never done with others. I think there's always a certain like, magic in creating a new character and bouncing them off other new characters. The initial 'yes, and' of developing. I love that we have 80 people on the game, most of whom I don't know, to do this with.

And I know that it sucks to be stuck in a spot where either you missed out, or now you can't play with your own friends. Inevitably, people will probably leave over that last. And that will make me sad, tbh, because I am looking forward to all the concepts and people I have seen.

There's no easy answer. I hate people being disappointed, but I'd rather people be disappointed than have the story suffer because there are too many players.

*Disclaimer: I am not staff. Yes, I am close friends with them. But, my views do not reflect theirs in a court of law.

Adding my Spirit Lake character! Hit me up if anyone wants a hook to an Instagram model/influencer trust-fund kid who came out to Grand Lake to be a rancher when her friend inherited a ranch.

@vorpal I have been camping in Grand Lake. I think I am the one who originally suggested the place as the setting for the game, and it just turned out perfect, I think.
