@silverfox I bet you are too weak to do our dishes and clean the cat boxes.

RE: What Makes A Good PRP?
Check with staff for scope issues. Meaning are you starting off with something that would be noticed by everyone, or say devastate downtown, bring someone back from the dead, expose the aliens among us etc? Are you planning on tons of collateral damage? Are you introducing innovations in technology (and here I mean anything that players can use if they know how, so spells, super powers whatever) or setting that would be world changing?
Otherwise make it doable, engaging, unbiased, fun for you and participants, and fit it to the players you get,

RE: First Through the Gate Syndrome
Not directly related, but I seem to recall some places/people writing a set and then leaving it there to read. And there have been places with pose recall so folks entering can catch up. Those were helpful to me.

RE: What do you call fizzy, non-alcoholic drinks?
I use soda, then soda pop, then pop. Never Coke for general use.
I am west coast USA, with Kansas and Texas family.

Would technology often be on equal or better terms than powers?

RE: Cyberrun
@Tinuviel This isn't remotely the discussion? Funny, I thought I was part of the discussion, and it seems related to me: IC mental versus IC physical ages and players seeking RP that either just skeeves people or is outright depicting what would be illegal most everywhere. However, you are the first to mention being skeeved by Pris, so +1.
@Ghost Misleading? Did you not watch Blade Runner? They are emotionally children. The memories are "cushions", the bodies artificial. They have restraint, true, but little maturity at all. The actress was 22? The players people are concerned about are very likely as old or older, so maybe not the best measurement?
@Groth solid.
Question: Are there other warning signs that players specifically looking to RP this sort of thing, other than specifically advertising it? Is the activity easy to spot, or any other advice for staff seeking to remove this sort of thing from their games?

RE: Cyberrun
I see your answer, thank you. I do wonder if others also agree that electing to play 18+ means they are electing to play an adult.
Does that strike a chord with other folks here?
And why doesn't Pris skeeve people? She's a 4 year old in an adult body, slated to be a sex worker.
PS It took me a long time to realize that Zhora was not designed a sex worker, yet that is where she ends up. It easy to see thats a comment on exploitation of women and replicants. I think it's also a sign of the replicants empathy. They didn't ask the one already designed and likely traumatized by sex work to do so again. Instead, the killer does it.
I may be thinking about Blade Runner too much.

RE: Cyberrun
I was noting that the (let's go with healthy and fairly positive) lives people here lived growing up would be forbidden to RP by the guidelines offered. I've seen that approach taken so far as to say that forbidden RP topics also can't exist as topics in the setting.
To me, highlights that 18 is a magical number in these considerations, especially when OFTEN people end up at 18-20 so it's really close to that line. If we're so concerned, why is that?
I get the concern about the skeevy people, and skeevy topics, I wondered what others had to say with as little prompting from me. That last part is a major part of why I am brief, or even cryptic.

RE: RL things I love
Speaking of Mongolian things, who is it here who played Janet that lived in a yurt on ... Denver: Dark Destiny?

RE: Cyberrun
I wonder where peoples RL sexual experiences while under 18 fit into this.

RE: Comic/Superhero Games
@GamerNGeek I get that general idea, but I'd love to hear more detail. Do they mean things like change a government, or kill off a major character, or like advance to all electrical cars al la Watchmen, advance the space program, have telepaths as part of the judicial system, etc?

What kind of world changes would the players want to see?

If she would only stop texting me the weather.
Maybe if you stopped plundering weather APIs she'd think you've lost interest.

I have grown to appreciate the phone apps that enable quick communication with my doctor. Her staff answers question quickly and easily, as if I am texting a friend about dinner plans.

Any thoughts on tracking the autosuccesses across concurrent plotlines?

RE: A fully OC supers MU
Which is more important to players? Describing their character in a set way, describing their character however they want with little effect, or fast combat?

RE: Accounting for gender imbalances
My not so practical thought:
It's not on someone to get others to act reasonably. It's on your team to not be harassers, to see beyond whatever limited images they have in their head of any group. No one is making them do anything, and work isn't anyone's private space, nor is it a public rights space. Everyone acts appropriately, everyone participates in setting the tone, and everyone adapts every time there is a change to group composition. No one gets especially catered to.
I work in tech, and for my team it's the largest ratio of women to men I've seen, in QA, management, SEs, SAs, and devs. And it's really easy.
