Perhaps admins could find a plugin that allowed people to be blocked to all BUT specified accounts?
      @Arkandel any hope?

The filter can be set to still go to logs while not displaying. Just a thought.

Add a client side filter so you don't even see the rejects.

    • RE: X-Cards

I will say this in favor of the X card idea: I've asked my players what they wanted and didn't want to see. The words they used were almost the opposite of what they meant, and in their case they would not of used an X card option when I thought they would. The reverse will hold true: people may not know until it happens that something will affect them. Removing the barrier of explanation or prior (every topic ever discussed) consent means you keep peoples health in the fore.

Online, there are many many more options, and at minimum, I think it fair to ask to alter content, or ask to be excused from the particulars, or completely if things go off the rails.

It is also the same system more or less for Tales From The Loop, which is sort of a Stranger Things type game with kid characters. It uses Archetypes for special abilities, simple stats and skills, and a roll a 6 for a success which always makes me sd, but works for most people.

In the end, as long as the game system doesn't get in the way, you could have been playing this setting at any point in the past, and you didn't. So looks a lot like a one shot or one campaign type thing, which may be plenty of value for people who arent me.

None of that makes it a bad game, and it does look nice.

@Auspice Get friends and co-workers who can be the kind of reliable and friendly you want, Model that in front of your family. Clearly they aren't learning from you. And they may never do so. Meanwhile you'd have cool friends and co-workers and less stress.

    • RE: What do you eat?

I actually like some veggie burgers on their own. However, the last imitation meat I tried literally smelled and tasted of peas, and that was supposed to be the closest yet.

      It made me sad.

I am sure we will get there.

@Cupcake Sorry, the "you" in my post is meant as the generic you, and the loss of game value when skipping over parts of the learning process. To me, this skip to the end, combined with "make it like this TV show" are problematic in current online RP.

I got what you were laying down, and was aiming to support your experience and link it to wider concerns.

@Cupcake Spoilers on specifics of game play are part of what makes game life so short these days. It also deprives players of the value of discovery.

It's like spending money to skip content.

So is it about you "beating the game" with someone else's work, or about exercising your brain for your own satisfaction?

@cupcake I believe that Good Society a Jane Austen roleplaying game with its expansions on magic and swordplay could form a basis for that setting.

Endless Hasselhoff was a prank at work. However, it was also required that your machine be locked anytime you were away from it.
So it was also a friendly reminder.

    • RE: The Division 2

I want to know if they fixed their problems from the first time around.

I really enjoyed the game as long as I didn't have to deal with other hostile players. The whole all levels PVP zone to get to and from raids and recover your raid rewards was a hard no. Which is a shame as the randomized scenario generator was pretty cool and I thought the story was pretty good.

Likewise allowing exploits to keep their years worth of top end gear from the start was a really bad idea. Really, really bad. People were given til the death of the game to use their ill-gotten loot to harass other players trying to raid to get that same gear. It was pathetic.
