Smart entities have learned to survive among dumb entities for a long time. That's what the smart entity next to me said anyway.

That is definitely the time to move to a private room. I am all for letting people have their private moments spontaneously, and I am fine with having my own scene while someone else is sharing the same public space. That is what all public grid spaces are for really, use by everyone, any time. Everything else can use a private room, which is why I love RP rooms.

Sounds like there is a problem with the User.

Many, many others go through a long cgen, hang out in the OOC room until they hate existence, then discover there is no random RP to join, and they stay.

I assume that means there must be one Head of Household per listed holding in the county, which would prevent one Household absorbing the lands of another?

As a purely creative idea, you might consider allowing non-religious "knightly bonuses" for achieving a set of Virtues/Vices that fit a strong archetype. Examples might be the dangerously ambitious Noble, the Steward, or the Respected Entertainer. Instead of combat based bonuses, they could earn something to add to their skills, or perhaps a way to earn honor or avoid losing Honor for some actions.

    • RE: White House/Political MUX

Is there some distinctive fiction and topics that players could emulate lacking the massive simulation that is EVE to drive conflicts and the economy?

Will intrigues be RP only based, or will there be skills created to cover it?

How do you plan to keep character death and retirement from allowing massive gathering of properties under a few families? Usually this can be prevented by the unknown other members of family and government with claims, but in this setting, you can have a family tree fully defined and then emptied.

You are just envious of their VB UI skills.

As long as I can cast the Extended Necromatic Geas from the Ironwood setting ...

This reminds me of the issues with Weapons of the Gods. It had a ton of secret magical martial arts techniques and spells and fun stuff. BUT they made the display of super human actions so easy, that it lost all context. The opening adventure example was writing a poem on the fly, while dropping off a wall, in excellent calligraphy, with your sword, in stone. You didn't need anything special to have a shot at that.

It really undermined and sense of scale or special to have no qualifiers.

I'm really attached to the idea of those characters dealing with how they all failed and/or killed one another and why. It's a post mortem version of The Play is The Thing.

Get it, post death, annnnd a review process. I R funneh.

Requires too much continuity of the Audience, eg the players who witness what the various actors are up to. You'd have logging, and then night mandatory reading to follow anyone's career.
