    • RE: Titanic Two-Tone Tales Take Two

New Wiki is seeing some serious work done, and we're making significant progress on porting over the grid. Minor work done onto the chargen side of things however once work goes full on that part of the project should only take a few hours at most.

I'm doing some redesigns to elements of the Gotham grid and will be spliting gotham into two hubs Upper and Lower Gotham with the two hubs representing the above smog and bellow smog sections of the city.

Work on new rooms for metropolis has also begun starting with the colloquially known Suicide Slums. However keep in mind Slums are in the eye of the beholder, and for a town as rich as metropolis in our setting. Well let's just say anyone in lower Gotham would kill for one of the Metropolis Suicide Slums

Edit1: More wiki work done finished porting over old wiki content, and adapting for the modified setting. Character sheets from the old mush are not being ported.

Edit2: Wiki transfer is done, working on several completely new entries. Been putting off the busywork of transferring the rest of the old grid manually from the old DB. Going to spend tonight and tomorrow working on character generation, trying to work slow so I don't burn myself out since the actual server building part of this is mostly a solo process till we launch.

If anyone knows a good way to strip the grid from a DB that would help out a lot.

    • RE: Spitballing for a supers Mush

I've been perfectly fine using it in the past but the bandwith that Ares requires is insane, and just not available to me during the process of trying to get approved for disability. It's a major resource hog, and the free providers just don't support that insane resource load when compared to more traditional systems.

@faraday I should have said in comparison to the usage of other platforms. It's really not that insane when compared to almost anything else it's just insane for an amount to ask for FREE hosting from anyone. That's more what I'm getting at and yeah I'm stuck on fixed income. @-@

    • RE: Project Gridlock (Temp Name) Matrix style mush

@wizz To be fair a lot of my ideas start out as overly niche and then work their way to something more open by the time they launch. I'm still in the building phase where a lot can change. My main focus is on the Matrix theme with people having supernatural powers as a sign of breakdowns in the simulation.

Part of sharing this idea and sharing my building process is to narrow down on what works trim what doesn't and build something original without going too crazy in the process.

Already I'm not using the nWoD system just because it's not available which simplifies maters to a degree. I know my main focus is on the Matrix with supernatural elements thrown in so I've got that as a focus for general building.

WoD is what I think when I think supernatural but maybe that's just not the proper approach to get to the end goal I'm looking for.

Edit: That is to say you're absolutely right and I'll look into options.

    • RE: New Project: Cyberpunk:Chrome Is The New Black

The Active Mission System has been expanded into a reputation system allowing for better or worse jobs depending on character reputation with the factions. Get your reputation too low and they might just be too hostile to even give you work anymore.

We're adding the major corporations to the reputation system making it so missions have a better impact on prices from the corps jobs available and potentially can unlock contacts. We're also in the process of adding police specific missions to the AMS.

We're still deciding which gangs to have inside of the game at launch but are planning to launch with a smaller grid consisting of two districts of central Night City and expanding over time. To start with we are going to have the Corp city closeup along with Urban Zones B2 and B3.

If you guys have any particular gangs you'd like to see players able to join let me know.

Edit: To make things clear the plan is to allow anything you can do through the Minigames to be able to be done through proper RP. We're an RP focused game at the end of the day and don't just want people grinding for experiance.

@runescryer That we are Runescryer. We're also allowing a limited number of Player run AI though they'll have some interesting limitations to keep them ballanced in lore.

Proper server for coding and testing has been acquired. No more notepad grid descing for me. It's time for a harvest. Err I mean to get to work transferring.

Character generation is all but complete, just a few more tweaks to the code and it should be good to go. We're still in the process of transferring everything over to the new server but as soon as that's done we'll transfer the multi-layer grid. Once that's done we should be good for closed testing if anyone wants in.

    • RE: New Project: Cyberpunk:Chrome Is The New Black

There was a minor setback with porting over content to the new server so we've had to change plans drastically on the internal side of things resulting in some major changes to how code is done and the system itself. This will delay the launch of closed alpha somewhat but hopefully not significantly.
